You can’t criticize Rush Limbaugh and be a member of the modern Republican party.
‘The Republican Party in its roots is a party of inclusion and we ought to be promoting that and making sure that voices are heard,’ Cantor, of Virginia, said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s ‘Political Capital with Al Hunt,’ airing today.
Cantor, when asked about Limbaugh’s comments that ‘Adolf Hitler, like Barack Obama, also ruled by dictate’ and his comparison of the administration’s health-care logo to a swastika, said his comparisons were wrong.
‘Do I condone the mention of Hitler in any discussion about politics?’ Cantor said. ‘No, I don’t, because obviously that is something that conjures up images that frankly are not, I think, very helpful.’ ”
Expect sometime Monday or so for Rush Limbaugh to give Cantor his back hand and for the congressman from Virginia to demonstrate more loyalty to a junkie than to the people of the commonwealth.
First of all, Cantor had the opportunity to figure this shit out BEFORE he joined the parade of GOP leaders speaking at this event.
Second of all, “the Republican Party at its roots” is only a meaningful statement if you hadn’t abandoned those roots decades ago.
You know what’s weird? Okay, maybe it’s not so weird. This won’t be the first time Cantor has been pimp slapped by Boss Limbaugh. And Cantor is being disingenuous if the claims he doesn’t know what kind of idiot teabaggers are showing up at these events.
This is the same raging shithead who sent out a fundraising letter for Master Limbaugh during the “phony soldiers” controversy. He knows who his daddy is and did this on a Friday afternoon for a reason.
Cantor will be down on his knees shining master Rush’s shoes within a day or so
What would it take for Lorraine Woellert to ask the Nazi talk originator whether that sort of talk is appropriate?
Hey, what’s that?! Look!!! Over there!!!
Time for lunch.
Speaking as a person who’s family had personal experience with Nazis, I am of the opinion that the only place for swasikas is textbooks and museums.
Maybe one of the wingnuts native to this site could tell me what Rush means in declaring that Obama “rules by dictate”; i.e., which of the prerogatives of the legislative or judicial branches the Obama administration has encroached upon.
Please be specific about the instance, and cite the legislation or ruling Obama is supposed to have defied.
This should be interesting.
Rush will probably say Cantor has “anal poisoning”

I’d be happy to see the source of that quotation, so I could get some idea of the context. Then, I’ll get you El Rushbo’s email address, and you can ask him yourself.
Frank, you can listen to El Rushbo say the phrase in question here. (I don’t think I’m imposing too greatly; the clip is only 90 seconds and the part where he says “Hitler, like Obama, also ruled by dictate” is at the very beginning so you don’t even have to listen to the whole thing.)
I’m pretty sure I could find an email address for Rush, also pretty sure that he would never reply. But good for you (seriously) if you don’t care to explain or defend such an utterance
How? Are you his dealer?
Rahn Emmanuel’s on-going punking of the GOP continues. Rush is the millstone of conservatism now, and he ain’t gong anywhere.
Really, Jaim?
I wouldn’t be so sure Rahm is the one doing the punking on Rush Limbaugh right now.
Rush may mention Eric Cantor’s remarks, but I doubt if there’ll be any bitch-slapping going on; and I seriously doubt Cantor backs off his remarks about Hitler references no matter what Limbaugh says or doesn’t say.
I would, however, expect to see Baghdad Bob Gibbs backing off his Hitler comments yesterday: “Imagine just a few years ago had somebody walked around with images of Hitler. “
‘Gee, no, Bob, we can’t.
Yeah, Gibbs should have chosen his words more carefully.
He should have asked if could imagine Democratic leadership appearing at such rallies and making speeches.
I await your link, Dennis.
Durablend, Cantor WILL be “shining” an appurtenance of Rush’s…but it won’t be shoes.
What amazes me is that there are so many minorities attending these tea bag events……….rim shot!
Cantor said the mention of Hitler was not “helpful” in the political debate. What a courageous statement!
Didn’t “Mr. Inclusive” support Hoffman in NY’s 23rd?
Cantor is going to get a bye on this. He’s the Republicans’ best ambassador into the Jewish community, and they all understand that he needs to protest the Holocaust imagery in order to stay in the good graces of the right-wing Jewish leadership (AIPAC, the Anti-Defamation League). As long as he doesn’t say this too often or too loudly they’ll leave him alone.
If the thread about this I just skimmed on Freerepublic is any indication, Cantor is just another weak willed RINO who has gone to the other side as far as most of the Teabag Conservatives are concerned. At least a couple comments indicate a belief that Hitler=Obama comparisons are unfair to Hitler.
Though to be fair, as with the always entertainintg Orly Taitz threads on FR, there are a handful of voices in the wilderness who realize that the con movement is fast disappearing down the rabbit hole. Unfortunately for them, they are generally believed to be in the employ of ACORN by the rest.
I guess you won’t get an answer, kth. The cons in this neighborhood seem to be okay with the Obama/Hitler connection. Maybe not an outright defense of Rush, but never a repudiation.
