1) Wow, WWII sure looked like fun.
2) It would have to be pretty damn good to even compete with Ken Burns’s “The War”
3) The Battle of Pearl Harbor, in low-def:.
Hitler channel makes a comeback!
Looking forward to this show. A completely different perspective.
This made me think of the first time I ever saw color footage of Nazis soldiers. It was in the 1990 doc Mein Kreig, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107547/.
I’;ll never forget it because it was this holy shit moment where I suddenly realized: “Holy crap, those Nazi are in color.” I just don’t think I’d ever seen it before and it really drove home just how recent WWII really is in the grand scheme of things.
The HD factor is obviously a big deal here but just seeing color doc footage of WWII, and so much of it all at once, is always kind of striking in itself, whether it’s HD or not.
Wow. That is a must-see.
Dude, it’ll be typical History Channel crap. Stock footage “spiced up” with digital effects. Bleh.
