Seems to me that the Republic Party is a big tent closet.

For example, Corzine’s loss is clearly a repudiation of conservative economic policies, which threw millions out of work and resulted in the New Jersey budget imbalance. Republican balanced budget amendments made it impossible to submit a budget without tax increases.

So in fact, Christie’s win is a victory for ….liberals! Also.

Oh, and I really think McCain needs to un-suspend his campaign again seeing as that Obama guy is on the ropes (and McCain’s “obviously” got him right where he wants him!)

Republicans usually benefit from low turnout.
Off-year elections tend to have very, very low turnout.
Therefore, by these simple facts alone, we might expect that Republicans might fare relatively well in an election in November, 2009, when most people are not going to the polls.

I simply do not care about these election results, except inasmuch as they allow me to again demonstrate what an idiot you are. These elections mean nothing with respect to Obama. Sorry about your luck.

Maybe you should reflect about why you consider this to be such an important, monumental win for your side. A couple governorships in an off-year election, Dennis. Not that big a deal, truly. And certainly not indicative of any greater story in the national political picture.

I really do enjoy that saps like Dennis actually think that this has much to do with Obama. The media has been pushing this as a story, and he falls for it hook, line, and sinker. Big fucking shock.

Fact: Exit polls demonstrate that this really isn’t a referendum on Obama.

Fact: Anyone who votes for or against a governor candidate as a statement with respect to a President is an idiot. Really stupid to vote for or against a governor simply because you do/don’t like the job that another guy higher up in the party is doing.

Fact: The wingnuts are exceedingly happy about today’s developments. This is hilarious. The scoreboard from the past 4 years now reads “Democrats: 192, Republicans: 8″. Good for you guys, though. Enjoy it.

Fact: Polls indicate that Obama’s approval numbers are slightly north of 50%.

Fact: Self-identification of Republicans in the U.S. citizenry is at historic lows.

Fact: Dennis molests collies*.

*May not be fact. But it’s interesting that Dennis hasn’t spoken up about the rumors linking him with collie molestation rings. The fact that he hasn’t denied these allegations is enough to give one pause. I really wish he would come out and deny it already, and put this matter to bed. And if anyone has evidence that Dennis does molest collies, come out with it! Let’s put an end to this issue.
