How does Billy go through the airport metal detectors with all the tinfoil on his head?

  2. Jay says:

Wired has a good piece about all of this anti-vaccine drivel.

Parents are listening to people like Jim Carrey and kids are starting to die from diseases they should never get in the first place.

Despite all his rage, he is still just a rat in a cage

I think we might get some consensus between the libs and cons in this thread.

Why would anyone listen to Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy, or Billy Corgan about ANYTHING, much less health issues?

  5. Marco says:

I’m not getting the vaccine, but I am also not in the age group most affected by the outbreak. I think I’ll manage fine as we’ve been through the swine flu before, but I certainly wouldn’t begrudge getting it for people who need it or want it.

I’m not getting the vaccine either, but that has more to do with my age and health than it does with tinfoil hat conspiracy theories, ya know?

  6. Marco says:

Also, I must add I don’t believe any conspiracy crap regarding it either.

  8. Jaim says:

The scary thing about the broken American health system of today is that even if you have coverage and take decent care of yourself (or more importantly, your kids) somebody who doesn’t have insurance and therefore can’t afford shots can easily get you (or your kid) sick.

That’s the thing about public health policy. The “pubic” aspect is the most critical thing about it, and it only takes one person to topple the house of cards re: an epidemic.

“The ‘pubic’ aspect is the most critical thing about it…”

    isn’t it always?

  10. White Whale says:

The man is a musical genius and lets leave it at that. Every artist, hell every figure head has some view that is just weird. More importantly, why is this important? Do people really listen to rock stars or comedians for health advise? They are generally the most unhealthy people around. Why even bring it up? I will just listen to health professionals and go pop in listen to Pisces Iscariot or Machina II now.
