When Interviews With Charlatan Faith Healers Go Bad

Benny Hinn is my “favorite” of the fake faith healers on TV — he’s the one who throws the holy ghost into the crowd and they all fall down. Check out his flack trying to ruin an interview when the ABC reporter gets a little too inquisitive.

Saw that. The guy’s a crook.

  2. Wek says:

    Praise JJJJJEEEEEZZZZZUUUUUSSSSS!

I admire anyone that takes money from suckers. Keep it going Benny.

  3. Despite P.T. Barnums’ assertion, these Telescammers should not be allowed to gorge on the stupidity of the public, simply because no one bothers to expose their disgusting and shallow greed or look out for the interests of those poor saps incapable of looking out for themselves.

Yet another example of religion co-opted by criminals to prey on weak minded and desperately deluded individuals.

  4. Mylegacy says:

I’ve no problem with Bennies Billions – religion – at best – is delusion. Let the deluded send their money to that clever little dick rather than sending it to the Repugs.

  5. Quaker in a Basement says:

Hinn is a piker. He’s just collecting nickels and dimes from shut-ins. His pitiful take is nothing compared to the really big salvation outfits.

  6. Rheinhard says:

jrfunk – there are a few people looking out for public… If you’ve never seen it, google James ‘the Amazing’ Randi’s takedown of faith healer Peter Popoff on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. It was an all time classic. The formerly huge Popoff ministry was destroyed.

I don’t think he did jail, and he does still have an occasional late night cable ministry, but it’s a shadow of what it was when Randi exposed him.

  7. Felix Helix says:

This would be the first instance I’ve seen of praiseworthy activity by Sen. Chuck Grassley.

Check out Hinn’s tells (besides the obvious matter of his consistently evasive language) — the darting eyes and the way he keeps wiping a finger across his lips. Best moment: his tell-ridden attempt to claim that a private jet is a “necessity”.

  8. timmy says:

Cynical skeptics! The Jesus happy slap upside the head that magically pops the missing arm back on is a miracle from the Good Lord! Oh wait, Benny doesn’t do missing arms…

  9. Carlos says:

I’m not sure what’s more stunning – the fact that this fraud is allowed to remain tax-excempt, or the morons who believe what he does is real.

  10. jr says:

Benny has the mullet of understanding

  11. Rheinhard,

I’m well aware of Rhandi’s mission. I’m talking about a civic body that will do the same thing.

If government is charged with protecting the public interest, surely there is room to root out evil in the form of con artists and charlatans.

  12. EOM says:

Benny is still slapping people for Jesus? Last I knew he was working the Netherlands cause the Germans kicked his ass to the curb after he slapped some woman off a stage and into a hospital.

  13. jimmy velman says:

How can so many people be so fooled by an enterprising fraud like this television charlatan? and taking people’s money for persoal gain?
Ben is at the top of the heap.
