Redskins Donate To Bob McDonnell

The suck moves to another venue. Gah!

The NFL franchise donated $50,000 to Virginia gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell (R), who holds a high-single digit lead over his opponent Creigh Deeds (D), according to a Washington Post report.

As if I didn’t have enough reasons to hate Dan Snyder.

    You know, Oliver, the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t far away from your MD home, have decent, Democratic owners who clearly know how winning teams are built, and regularly beat the crap out of the flying rats from Ballmer. What’s not to like? We can always use another fan.

    Now that his politics are known, all DeMaurice Smith and Al Sharpton need to do is get someone to publish forged racist quotes on Wikipedia anonymously and attribute them to Snyder, then take it to Roger Goodell for the shakedown hustle.

    Boom. Snyder would be gone.

    If only Snyder had a long, long, long, long, long, long, long and extensively documented history of making racist comments. Damn! Oh well, I’m sure the all-powerful Smith and Sharpton will make it happen anyway. You know, because they’re so powerful, even the mighty and totally not racist Rush Limbaugh falls before them. How unjust!

    Relax, Oliver. If Snyder was a more committed Republican, he would’ve donated the money a month or so ago when the WaPo was campaigning for Deeds and subsidizing his advertising bill by running daily hit pieces on McDonnell’s college thesis twenty years prior.

    As it is now, Snyder’s just playing the smart money. Just like the Wall Street investment banks going long Obama last October.

    So clear it up for me, is someone’s “past” fair game or not? Since you guys make up the rules on this sort of thing, please let me know. If the past is relevant, whats the limit on years we’re looking at? I mean, is 20 the cut off? It’s funny that Repiblicans want to bring up shit from the past when they think it helps then (Van Jones, Ayeres (from the 1960′s ), etc…) but when it hurts you, you act like what was done in the past doesn’t matter. Just want to be clear on what’s allowed and what’s not….

    I’m not defending or taking sides on this question but there seems to be a lot of double standards with attacking questions on the thesis…

    Do we get to count all the time Fox and the Washington Times has spent on Michelle’s thesis, Bill Ayers, and Van Johnson as republican contributions? Cool! Paging FEC!

    Woah, didn’t say whether it was right or wrong, just said the WaPo was making it easy for Deeds to get that message out; doing a lot of the heavy lifting for him. You can’t buy better advertising in Virginia if you’re running for governor than what WaPo was doing for Deeds.

    If Snyder wanted to help him, that would’ve been a better time. Not that McDonnell doesn’t appreciate it now.

    Oh, and Wilbur, there was nothing more bizarre all of last football season than when Dan Rooney thanked Barack Obama for the Super Bowl victory when he accepted the Lombardi before he thanked the Steeler Nation.

    Even my Obama-bot friends back in the 412 area code said so…all of them.
