Of Course

Of course the DLC, the supreme losers on the Democratic side of things, are in favor of ditching the public option. Any time something might cause friction with the Republicans, the DLC solution is to capitulate. The DLC should just get on with it and say: From the people who brought you Republican majorities in the House, Senate, and a Republican president.

It isn’t the friction with Republicans that gets Democrats to back off this stuff, it’s friction with their own big-money donors. Republicans can’t really do anything anymore. Everything that passes or fails is the Democratic Party’s baby now.

The calculus they’re all making is staggering: what will get me re-elected, doing what 77% of the American people want or having an extra mil or two in my campaign coffer?

They think fat campaign coffers are the ticket to ride. Sad but true? Are we THAT stoopid?

My solution starts with two words – Term Limits.

The DLC- The people who brought us the longest peacetime boom in recent US history and the Democrats’ only two-term President since FDR. Oh, and a balanced budget too. And a drop in the poverty rate.

The liberal wing- The people who brought us stagflation, 49-state electoral losses, fiscal mismanagement, interest group politics, and general malaise.

So far, the liberal wing is doing it’s usual great job. Next time please let the adults in the Democratic Party run things.

The DLC also brought us eight years of Bush by cutting the balls off of Gore and Kerry.

    Fuck ‘em.
