Writing about the White House truthfully labeling Fox News as GOP TV, Kurtz writes
Plus, if you look at MSNBC’s lineup after 6 p.m., Fox isn’t the only network that goes heavy on the opinionated hosts.
That of course it the journalistic equivalent of writing that Mrs. Lincoln quite enjoyed the show. MSNBC has a block of 3hrs in the morning hosted by a conservative Republican ex-congressman. It has three opinion shows after 6 hosted by liberals, while another show – Matthews – is hosted by a Washington insider who will hump the leg of the alpha male in the room regardless of party. Compare that to Fox’s 24 hour blast of GOP talking points.
Joe Scarborough veers farther left all the time and with the exception of Pat Buchanan is surrounded by nothing but liberals. And the White House just issued an edict to Joe to “Quit being an Asshole” after he said Marisa Tomei did more to deserve her Oscar than Obama did to deserve the Nobel.
And Matthews being described as anything other than an Obama-loving liberal is nonsense.
Especially after this:
Chris Matthews fantasizes about Rush Limbaugh’s Death by Explosion
And Howard Kurtz works for the network that deemed it necessary to fact check Saturday Night Live for daring to mock Obama’s non-existent accomplishments to date.
Finally. I’ll never forget his tweets regarding Letterman’s interview of President Obama. It was as if he expected it to go down like Frost/Nixon (some really absurd comments he made I’ll never forget) and when Reliable Sources broached the subject, he retreated from his point when no one agreed with him. But, if you call him “Howie,” all the angst evaporates. Does a first name like “Howie” make you immune to being called out for idiocy?
Enjoy your tweets BTW.
Ok, exactly how then is Kurtz being “dishonest”? And please. Chris Matthews is a big time huge Obama suck-up. Claiming he is just some “Washington insider” is dishonest. He’s a shill.
And wonders what comes of the Obama administration declaring an ideological war with the cable news station that has the highest ratings. All it is going to do is drive more people to that station. This is a completely stupid and pointless move on the part of the White House and it just goes to show much we’re dealing with “amateur hour” at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
And Matthews being described as anything other than an Obama-loving liberal is nonsense
Whatever babe.
Joe Scarborough veers farther left all the time
Yeah, okay sweetie.
He’s a shill.
He’s a shill for whoever is in power. He slobbers over Obama, he slobbered over Bush.
This is a completely stupid and pointless move
It’s a good move to just admit the obvious about Fox.
Joe Scarborough veers farther left all the time and with the exception of Pat Buchanan is surrounded by nothing but liberals.
And such as? Perhaps someone should dig up some choice quotes from Pat “With the exception of” Buchanan…
And Matthews being described as anything other than an Obama-loving liberal is nonsense.
Mmm…wrong again, Limbaugh breath.
Indeed, there is just something grossly foul about you coming on here and arguing a point using links to OW’s employer after he just did it.
It’s more ‘Ewww’ than when Chris Matthews’ did his ‘thrill running up his leg’ thing.
Really.
Have some pride in yourself, man.
It sure is getting silly around here, sweetie-babe.
Indeed, there is just something grossly foul about you coming on here and arguing a point using links to OW’s employer after he just did it.
Time stamp, Reachie. Great minds and all that…
He’s been saying that about Fox for a long time. All throughout his campaign, as a matter of fact. So why now, unless there was an ulterior motive, like distraction from the health care debate or the war in Afghanistan, or the gay issue?
What’s new about any of this? It’s not a new admission by anyone.
Just because Scarborough has been known to criticize some of the lunacy of the GOP, it does not make him “veer far left.”
Dennis: Or because Fox has seriously ratcheted up the crazy in the last 6 months.
Not what I said, Wilfredo. And not what I meant. It’s not that a conservative would tune in to the guy in the morning to cheer that he’d try to sock it to the all the liberals he has surrounding him on there. It just makes the show slightly less nauseating that he’s there to temper them a little bit and keep the show from looking like just another one of the four programs they have in the evening; that apparently fewer an fewer are watching all the time.
Not sure that’s the case or if it’s just that a lot more people, either as their job or just simply for the 15 minutes of fame, are doing nothing but watching the show and creatively making the case for craziness on the network now more than they were in the past.
It’s just cool for liberals to bash Fox, and Obama never balks at the opportunity to appear cool. What better way than to attack Fox, while at the same time one of his advisors tells the far left fringes to take off their pajamas and realize how hard it is to govern in a divided electorate.
It’s just cool for liberals to bash Fox, and Obama never balks at the opportunity to appear cool.
Just wanted to see that again. Smile of the week. Really, really funny. Nice one, Sir Reach-a-lot.
Or because Fox has seriously ratcheted up the crazy in the last 6 months.
Well, as the White House did, you’re conflating their opinion shows with their daytime news coverage. I did a search over at Media Matters and when I plugged in Fox News, I saw nothing but references to Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Dick Morris and Bill O’Reilly.
It’s like constantly quoting Matthews, Olbermann or Maddow and saying it’s “MSNBC”.
“Compare that to Fox’s 24 hour blast of GOP talking points.”
BS thy name is Shep Smith.
Actually Indeed, I don’t think that Dennis is that far off the mark. This is the one way that Obama can placate the left wing of his base since he’s sold them out on almost every other issue.
Actually Indeed, I don’t think that Dennis is that far off the mark.
And I’m s’posed to be shocked?
“Joe Scarborough veers farther left all the time”
It’s funny how wing-nuts keep drumming other people who are obviously wing-nuts out of the
ReichRepublican Party.Sorry, but Joe Scarborough is a loathsome, piece-of-shit Republican hack. And he’s all yours. Just wishing him out of your party doesn’t make him one of us (i.e., reality-based pro-Americans who support our president).
Crap statement, Jaim. I didn’t say I was wishing him out of any party, just that he has veered farther left since he’s been on that show and working for MSNBC, and it was in response to what I think was an inaccurate portrayal by OW in the blog post that MSNBC has a block of 3hrs in the morning hosted by a conservative Republican ex-congressman, as if that somehow evens out the three hours in the evening that does nothing but praise Democrats and bash Republicans.
As to your personal attack of calling me a wingnut and Joe Scarborough a piece of shit Republican hack, I look at his life and what he’s accomplished and I look at yours and what you’ve managed to do at the thirty-five year mark, and sorry, but I think he’s got you beat.
O-dub is simply pointing out that Kurtz is being disingenuous by describing MSNBC based solely on its post-6 pm programming.
And you are freaking out about it, as usual.
And you are the definition of a wing-nut. And Scarborough remains a Republican hack. Get a helmet you ignorant baby.
MSNBC gave a weekly show to Michael Friggin’ Savage. We all remember the time when the F(R)NC gave a show to Michael Moore.
How often do you see anyone critical of Fox….OW, Media Matters, any of the far-left blogs that exist almost solely for their bloodlust hatred of Fox News, ever point to any shows besides the ones after 5pm when they make the ridiculous case that Fox News is an arm of the Republican Party?
Here, maybe one out of twenty blog posts has anything to do with a Fox show outside of their evening opinion shows.
“…while another show – Matthews – is hosted by a Washington insider who will hump the leg of the alpha male in the room regardless of party.”
Beautiful! What a way with words. Is this why I keep coming here? Not the comments?
Well, there is this. Which is only currently on the front page of media matters. Easy to miss I guess.
I’ve seen plenty of criticism of Fox and Friends and Neil Cavuto. Probably only in obscure places like the Daily Show.
