The benefits in the bill don’t take effect until 2013 anyway, so it’s not like we don’t have the time.

  2. william says:

Benefits Farris? There are no benefits. Just handouts, penalties, and taxes.

  3. Sean D. Martin says:

SaveFarris: so it’s not like we don’t have the time.

Tell that to people currently suffering due to lack of insurance.

  4. SaveFarris says:

It doesn’t matter what I tell them, Sean. If the House and Senate were to pass this bill and Obama sign it before I finish typing this sentence, those “people currently suffering” would still be suffering until January 1, 2013.

SaveFarris: <i.those “people currently suffering” would still be suffering until January 1, 2013.

True. So you’d be in favor of having it take effect sooner, I trust?

  6. Amused Observer says:

Obama lied when he said that upcoming legislation would be posted on the internet and he signed legislation that was passed with far too much haste in the bill that allowed the federal government to gain control of the once private means of production in the majority of the American owned automobile industry. Our money is already losing substantial value in response to the unprecedented debt that Obama had racked up in his short tenure.

That Republicans wish to actually read the bills that will undoubtedly disrupt roughly 15% of the economy and that Oliver wants passes without careful study speaks volumes.

Sean, you’re blowing smoke. Your sentiments and the thrust of your arguement are intellectually dishonest at best.

  7. Sean D. Martin says:

Amused 0: … Republicans wish to actually read the bills …

    I call bullshit.

Bunning didn’t say he wanted time to read the bill. He wanted to translate it into a technical language was demonstrated to be incomprehensible to legislators.

  8. Sean D. Martin says:

So, Amused 0, you’re blowing smoke. Your sentiments and the thrust of your argument are intellectually dishonest at best.

  9. Jaim says:

Instead of crapping all over anything Obama or the Congressional Dems put out, you’d think those busy-beaver Republicans would be offering up their own pieces of legislation to improve America.

Oh, that’s right — they don’t have a single fucking idea as to how to make our country safer, richer, or healthier.

Jaim: Oh, that’s right — they don’t have a single fucking idea as to how to make our country safer, richer, or healthier.

Sure they do. Put a Republican in office.

What, they need some kind of plan of what to do beyond that? Isn’t 5 words enough?
