Our Fate In Harry Reid’s Hands. God Help Us.

At best I feel we can hope for epic failure.

A week ago, Reid called a compromise idea to delay the public option decision for several years a ‘pretty doggone good idea.’ By midweek, his top lieutenants adamantly pushed for the public option approved earlier by the health committee, forcing the leader to backtrack. ‘We are going to have a public option before this bill goes to the president’s desk,’ Reid said in a conference call Thursday.

By late Thursday evening, his office released a statement proclaiming that the majority leader would guarantee only to ‘include a mechanism to keep insurers honest, create competition and keep costs down.’

I hope for the best, but I know Harry Reid’s track record.

‘include a mechanism to keep insurers honest,

What would that be, a waterboard?

Why do you think liberal groups are openly rooting for him to lose next year? And it’s not like the House where Pelosi has Hoyer stabbing her in the back all the time. Wouldn’t Durbin or Schumer be the odds on favorite to be Majority Leader if Reid loses? Both, while not great, would be a marked improvement.

Actually a big accurate computer so they don’t leave any well-earned profits in the unwashed masses pockets.

Some of you are not gonna like this observation…Obama needs to stop playing Joe College Cool and get in touch with his “inner nigga.” By that I mean he needs to go to the Capitol and fuck some people up if he wants to get his agenda past the Pink Tutu crowd. Preferably in rhetorical fashion, but if he has to go upside some asshole’s head, so be it.

Perhaps Obama needs to tell Reid the same thing he said to NY Gov. Paterson.
