Putting Fans In The Broadcast Booth? Brilliant

This was apparently done for a soccer match between Manchester United and Manchester City. If they did this here we’d probably end up killing each other.

Please. They probably get psych screenings. There are some wild people who frequent soccer games.

You will find that those involved, and people in all countries where this game is played call it football. Only those insufficiently informed refer to it as “soccer.”

Well, I’m sure it must get hot up there…oh, right.

Please. They probably get psych screenings.

What, to make sure they don’t have any?

They do it every week on Fox Soccer Channel. Some of them are fantastic. And, as violent and short-tempered as Americans are, English soccer fans will gut you for not wearing the right color shirt.

  5. White Whale says:

WA pretty much made my point. Some English fans remind me of drunk college football fans in the South. They are beligerent and filled with liquid courage. Very bad stuff.

Speaking as an erstwhile football fan (Aston Villa’s Villa Park, now owned by USA’s Randy Lerner is 2-3 miles walk from my house), you are right. There are some morons so moronic they would stab you for wearing a Blues (Birmingham City) or Baggies (West Bromwich Albion) shirt. They are very few, and mostly now due to thorough policing, resort to picking fights in pubs they are not banned from.
You want some real soccer violence now, you have to look into Europe. South Africa’s womens team captain was recently gang raped and murdered for being gay.

When was the last time you saw hordes of Yankees fans beat Mets fans outside the stadium? Or anything even remotely like our European football hooliganism over there in the US? The USA may have many flaws, but taking your team allegiance as an excuse for violence against other supporters doesn’t seem to be one of them.
