And once again he won’t be asked about abandoning Carol and opposing MLK’s birthday as a national holiday
Reminds me of that George Carlin bit about VN;
“Pull out? Don’t seem manly to me, Bill!
Leave it in there, get the job done!”
Think there’s any chance he wants to run again?
I don’t think he’ll have that option; in 4 years, he’ll never handle another grueling campaign again. And after losing to President Obama, he’ll not be a top contender for the GOP. Hell, the GOP didn’t even want him as first choice, until everyone else imploded.
I think you’re right. But it’s interesting to consider that the “annointing” system of the GOP (give the nomination to the guy who has been standing in line for it a la Dole, McCain) can’t really apply to 2012. Who’s the “most deserving” in the GOP right now? McCain is simply too old, and the GOP leadership is in shambles.
Who’s the “most deserving” in the GOP right now?
It would seem to be 2008’s runner up, the Mittster. Plus Big Money likes Mitt. That’s who my money’s on, as of today.
I sort of think they’ll go w/ Jindal. I don’t understand how Mitt could make a run. None of the Republicans seem to like him all that much.
Imagine having to decide between McCain, Romney or Jindal?
It’s like winning the Mr. Anemia contest.

Tell it to Bobbi Flekman.
I’d be pretty happy if Jindal go the nomination. He’s entirely unelectable (course, so was George Bush, Jr.–can’t wait to explain him to the next generation) for a variety of reasons: religious lunacy, the Kenneth the Page Problem, GOP could quite possibly lose South Carolina, etc. The in no way insignificant Jesus Wing of the Republican Party will likely have problems with Romney’s not being the Right Kind of Jesus Person (ironically in spite of the LDS’s seriously racist past), but McCain had a similar problem and all it took was blowing Jerry Falwell on a big stage (and delivering a wheelbarrow full of gold bullion behind the curtain) to make that problem go away enough to get the nomination. He could also pick a lunatic Veep candidate a la Palin to mollify Dobson et al and make some votes come his way. Mittster knows what he has to do to make it happen, and he’s got the means (and skin tone) to do it.
Besides, it’s Romney’s turn. As of today.
He could also pick a lunatic Veep candidate a la Palin to mollify Dobson et al and make some votes come his way.
Well, at the very least assure Dobson et al that he’d tap a Palin-caliber lunatic for Veep. I guess that’s not allowed to officially happen until the nomination is a done deal, according to convention.
The so-called main-stream media has been working with the republicans to try to undermine the President. We all know this but only make a comment or two on blog and are done.
How about publishing the address, including the e-mail address of the each of the networks with the hope that some of us would participate in a campaign to let these people know that we are tired of them giving people like McCain a platform to whine against the President.
I write letters to all of the networks but doubt that a letter or two is even noticed. With the number of black people using the internet today there is no reason that these networks could’t
be inundated with complaints.
I have tried for the past five months to interest people I know in this letter writing campaingn but I mostly get stares and no indication that anyone is interested.
But just bring up Michael Jackson, or hair extensions or the best place to get cheap false fingernails and they are all over that.
So sad that we as a people place so much value in wrong place.
