Jobless Claims Drop To 530,000

The Bush Recession continues to wind down.

The number of newly laid-off workers seeking unemployment benefits fell for the third straight week, evidence that layoffs are continuing to ease in the earliest stages of an economic recovery.

The Labor Department said Thursday that initial claims for unemployment insurance dropped to a seasonally adjusted 530,000 from an upwardly revised 551,000 the previous week. Wall Street economists expected claims to rise by 5,000, according to a survey by Thomson Reuters.

Yep, it’s all roses and unicorns.

Don’t remember Oliver saying the effects of the Bush Recession were completely gone, but clearly things are better. Then again, from Farris’ link:

“Sales, which were still up 3.4 percent from a year earlier…”

“There is strength in the market and we will see stronger sales through November,” said Patrick Newport, an economist at IHS Global Insight.

“In one positive sign, the inventory of unsold homes on the market fell to 3.6 million, from 4 million in July. That’s an 8.5 month supply at the current sales pace, and the lowest level in more than two years.”

Thanks for the link Farris! It was self-debunking and look over there all at the same time!

Farries is developing a niche market, I think.

Yeah. From a Farris link. You didn’t think that was actually going to support what Farris was saying, did you?

Farris links always show exactly the opposite of what he claims. Why would anyone expect that to change now?

Cons doubled-down on the idea that the Bush Recession would never end. Fucking morons.

    DOW 9,700.
