And the voters punished them for it. As evidenced by the tea parties and the Summer of Discontent, spending is still very much an issue among the electorate. The editorial is "interesting" insomuch as Deeds wants to copy the Obama playbook on healthcare: let someone else make all the decisions and then sign off (and take credit for) the final product.
