Making the rounds right now in DC sports is the fact that the crowd at the Redskins game – including myself – booed the team despite the win.
They deserved it.
The Redskins were playing one of the worst teams in the league and yet couldn’t muster a single touchdown, while also giving the Rams the first TD of the year. Oh, they moved the ball but then inside the red zone they clenched up. I lay a lot of the blame for that on the coaching. They were at 4th and a few to go, inside the 5 and for some reason Jim Zorn calls an outside sweep? What the hell?
The last time the Redskins beat an opponent by double digits was December 30, 2007 versus the Cowboys. Offensive production under Zorn – who’s supposed to be an offensive guru – has been pathetic. Coach Zorn has never won a game by double digits. This type of play won’t do 8-8 much less a playoff shot.
We’ve been patient for a long time now. We want to win. We don’t applaud mediocrity, even if its in a winning effort. When the Redskins play the way they’re supposed to play – especially against the league’s scraps – we’ll be the loudest fans in the league.
ALSO: Jason Campbell seems to be going backwards. I’ve been a Campbell apologist but if he plays like he has in the first two games it might be time to see what Todd Collins can do.

Booooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it’s not Campbell’s fault. I’m a born and Texan, so I’m no Skins fan. But Campbell is not being trusted to do anything inside the 20.
He’s being a good little soldier and following the orders of coach’s that are wasting his talent.
Zorn was a QB on a mediocre team, he should have some idea of what NOT to do with a young QB.
Maybe they think Campbell is Tarvaris Jackson?
Wow. You found the one statistic that completely explains my feelings about my Redskins. I took my niece to the game this week. I call them my cardiac ’skins because they never win a game easily. Even with a three touchdown lead (last year) they can still nearly lose it all in the last two minutes. No double digit lead since 2007! I would rather go to my dentist than the next home game.
[...] Not so, says diehard Redskins fan and political blogger Oliver Willis. [...]
I was at the game and did not boo at the end. I was happy with the win. I was the only person in FedEx that was not booing – very loudly.
As a skins fan I want you to know that I think we kicked butt. If that was the Giants or the Cowboys we were playing and we gave them the ball back with 1 minute plus??? C’mon, us with a 2 point lead – you KNOW they would be kicking that field goal with 0 secs left on the clock.
Our DEFENSE held. They kicked butt.
I understand the boos during the game. It was awful to watch. I know I could call better plays. Madden 10 on autopilot could beat the real Rams by 20.
IT WAS A “W”. Let’s make this week pretty.
