Michael O’Brien At The Hill Has Some Reading Comprehension Issues
Tweet
Writing in The Hill, Michael O’Brien writes this headline:
Obama open to newspaper bailout bill
What did the President actually say?
Several bills have been introduced in Congress to aid the newspaper industry, including a Senate measure that would allow newspaper companies to restructure as nonprofits with a variety of tax breaks. The President was noncommittal about the legislation but said: “I haven’t seen detailed proposals yet, but I’ll be happy to look at them.”
Now, I know journalists nowadays just write stuff for Matt Drudge to link to, but The Hill’s headline is misleading – at best.
All sorts of stuff comes up to politicians. Rather than agree or dismiss things out of hand in case of offending people or raising their hopes too high, what do they usually say?
“I’ll be happy to look at them”.
It isn’t a commitment of any sort.

I’m surprised The Hill itself is still around, given its general level of mediocrity.

“here’s my resume”-Michael O’Brien to Roger Ailes
SF, if you’re referring to O’Brien, your comment makes even less sense than usual. If you’re referring to Obama, you’ve ratcheted up your normal level of stupid.
How the fuck do you walk and breathe at the same time? Do you have an anterior brain to control your legs?
So now we’re pretending that obvious trial balloons are not obvious trial balloons?
This “We have to assume Obama is a brilliant Saint that would never screw us over!” BS you hear from some is getting ridiculous. He’s a politician, assume the worst.
Doesn’t the fact that Obama is not committed to anything and said he’d look at legislation mean he’s OPEN to it?
Unless he says, “No, that is not something I support”, then he’s open to it. I don’t see what the big deal is.
Obama is open to raping puppies, because he hasn’t said he’s opposed to raping puppies.
You’re a complete doofus, Jay Tea.
