Glenn Beck Supported The Bailout

This is very worth noting.

But, before Obama was elected POTUS and when Glenn Beck was on CNN, he was singing a very different tune. One could say that Glenn Beck was for the bailouts before he was against them. Not only was he for the bailout, but he argued that it wasn’t big enough!

On September 22, 2008, speaking about the bailouts Glenn Beck said:

The ‘REAL STORY’ is the $700 billion that you`re hearing about now is not only, I believe, necessary, it is also not nearly enough, and all of the weasels in Washington know it.

Proving once again that conservative attitudes towards bailout and spending only flipped when the White House got new residents.

“Proving once again that conservative attitudes towards bailout and spending only flipped when the White House got new residents.”

…and when Glenn “The Chameleon” Beck switched networks. He then had to conform to Fox Network’s level of reporting = the lower-than-dirt level.

wait for it, wait for it…

  4. Buzz Killington says:

To be fair, in that segment he was discussing TARP, not the auto bailouts. Your point remains, but you should be accurate with your evidence.

  5. Buzz Killington says:

Title changed, cool. Now what’s that over there?! :)

  6. Eric Sipple says:

Yeah, Buzz is correct. This is support of TARP, not Auto Bailout. No less inconsistent on his part, but accuracy counts.

Results of the Cash for Clunkers program (stealing from future demand):

Edmunds.com reports that “September’s light-vehicle sales rate will fall to 8.8 million units . . . the lowest rate in nearly 28 years, tying the worst demand on record. After the cash-for-clunkers program boosted August sales to their first year-over-year increase since October 2007, demand has plunged. In at least the last 33 years, the U.S. seasonally adjusted annual rate has only dropped as low as 8.8 million units once — in December 1981 — with records stretching back to January 1976.”

And the winner of the look over there contest is…. william!

  9. Jaim says:

Only white presidents can do bail-outs.

  10. daniel rotter says:

Even William can’t defend Glenn Beck.

  11. daniel rotter says:

I don’t believe Beck is racist, Jaim, it’s more like “Only Democratic presidents can do bail-outs.”
