With a horrific economy, taxpayers who won't tolerate the slightest tax increase, and stinginess from Washington that will only get worse, most states are drowning in red ink and struggling to maintain the barest minimum of services. Personally, I'd rather muck out sewer pipes than try to handle a mess like that.
