Quaker in a B: Can someone help? This is all tangled and I can’t untie it.

Sure.

I clearly claimed that MSNBC, ABC, CNN etc. etc. all carried stories questioning the parentage of Bristol Palin’s child. But now that it has been pointed out that none of them did that and I was clearly just making stuff up, I’m changing my story to claim whether they did or not isn’t really the point.

I’m moving the goal posts. I’m now claiming that noting something is going on (Palin is famous enough that folks say bad things about her) and providing proof of that (by mentioning what the bad things being said are) is as bad as actually writing the bad things.

If you’re really “being honest here”, you’d note the “joke” was a badly told one and had a questionable level of humor, but it didn’t refer to a minor.

Letterman did respond seriously to the charge that he had made a rape joke about a 14-year-old girl: “These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl,” he said. Letterman insisted the jokes were intended to be about Bristol, who is 18-years-old. “Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. Did I suggest that it was OK for her 14-year-old daughter to be having promiscuous sex? No.”

Impaler is just further proof that the quality of troll around here is falling. Jay Tea was bad but at least capable of stringing sentences together. Dennis was clueless and capable of proving himself wrong in a single link. Then Frank came along and we all became a little stupider just having to read his posts. I thought we’d hit bottom but then we got Impaler who speaks of himself in the third person and writes posts that are blithering and unreadable. I fear what might come next.
