Robert Stacy McCain’s Racist Affiliations

Charles Johnson (!)

Robert Stacy McCain writes for VDARE and Takimag, two disgusting, openly racist websites. And he’s a friend of Richard Spencer, a self-avowed white nationalist. McCain is a member of the white supremacist group League of the South, and he’s associated with the deeply racist American Renaissance.

At the link McCain also defends the confederacy and attacks interracial marriage.

They are who we thought they were.

  1. Indeed says:

Charles Johnson! (sorry, but it does bear repeating).

  2. Matt Osborne says:

In the words of Gomer Pyle: “Surprise, surprise, surprise!”

  3. Amused Observer says:

“They are who we thought they were”

And who pray tell might They be?

  4. anotherbozo says:

Relatedly, Oliver, before the you’re-just-being-too-sensitive brigades come out, on page 2 of Ironic Times, a lesson in reading news bulletins:

    BETWEEN THE LINES

Displeasure with (Hatred of) Obama (blacks) is helping conservative lawmakers (racist honkies) gain ground in those states (the former Confederacy) where skepticism about his agenda (fear of communist takeover) has fed doubts (paranoia), leading to calls for restraint (lynch mobs).

  5. jr says:

When a guy who allows talk of “sand ticks” about Arabs is the voice of reason on your side…

  6. Impaler says:

Never head of this Guy, so he cannot be to wide spread, but the funniest thing here is bozo, “(racist honkies)” Priceless.

  7. Quaker in a Basement says:

Never head of this Guy, so he cannot be to wide spread,

Do I understand correctly, Impy? If you have never heard of the man, he must be a nobody?

  8. Impaler says:

Yep, thats what I thought. I don’t undersand (really), who he is, or why mentioned here is he related to John McCain?

  9. Jeff Fecke says:

Wait, how can he be racist? He isn’t a well-respected Latina jurist.

  10. Buzz Killington says:

Pablo, why are you any better? You seem to treat Republicans with the same disdain as a racist might. The same question applies to Oliver with his favorite line there about “them” (boogah boogah!). Trolling at it’s finest, I suppose.

  11. Indeed says:

Pablo, why are you any better? You seem to treat Republicans with the same disdain as a racist might.

Do you really need someone to explain the difference to you? How old are you, anyway? Are you serious?

  12. Buzz Killington says:

Humor me, please. Explain how some hatred is different from other hatred.

  13. Indeed says:

Humor me, please. Explain how some hatred is different from other hatred.

One is based on the color of a person’s skin (and the long history of viscous folklore, stereotyping, and hatred and what have you therein), the other is based on what people choose to believe, how they choose to act, and what they say.

For example, the racists at the Sarah Palin rallies last year (look up on Youtube, I’m tired of posting) hate Obama because he’s a black person, something he has no control over. I hate the racists at the Sarah Palin rallies because they elect to believe such racist garbage.

    You’re welcome.

You really needed that? I sure hope you aren’t a parent.

  14. Buzz Killington says:

Thanks Indeed, good luck teaching your children to hate all the right people.

  15. Quaker in a Basement says:

He was an editor at the Moonie Times, Impy. Now it seems he’s on the Wingnut Welfare circuit.

  16. Tyro says:

Charles Johnson has become the voice of reason among right-wingers.

Let that sink in for a bit.

  17. Indeed says:

Thanks Indeed, good luck teaching your children to hate all the right people.

They know the difference. They’re raised as critical thinkers. Good luck teaching kids that it’s OK to be a racist asshole.

  18. Sorry, I don’t get it – Is the point that someone named McCain is a racist?

I wonder if you could find a terrorist named Barack or Hussein.

Oliver , I know you love to blog those “so and so rode the bus on the same street where this other guy drove his car to work, and the newsguy they bought their morning paper from had the same name as guy in the Reagan administration – so Republicans are racists, right?” stories, but this is just plain wacky.

  19. Quaker in a Basement says:

Sorry, I don’t get it – Is the point that someone named McCain is a racist?

You are correct. You don’t get it. If you don’t know who this Mr. McCain is, it’s a Google.

  20. He works for the Washington Times, and they have not fired him out of a cannon into the Atlantic for writing for VDare?

    Now, that’s important!
