Joe Wilson is speaking the truth, many of you just can’t see beneath the surface of things.

Also, if you want to speak highly of the people that are serving and protecting our nation…then you should stop bashing Repbulicans, because our Armed Forces are predominantly Republican. Sounds like a bunch of neo-hippie nonsense to me.

Chris K you’re a moron. Strom Thurmond was a democrat. You know the ones who didn’t want to free the slaves, started the KKK, and were against the civil rights act. It would behoove you to study a little history rather than drinking the koolaid! As to the republicans being on the wrong side of history again you’re wrong. If it weren’t for republicans who freed the slaves and fought for civil rights Obama would be picking cotton in a field somewhere.

Sort of reminds me of Sen. James Strom Thurmond who held the longest filibuster against the Civil Rights act. We all remember him as “that asshole”.

Republicans love to be on the wrong side of history for some reason.

Yes, I think we should stop racism in its tracks. Moreover, without suggesting the neoconfederate Joe Wilson is motivated in any way by bigotry, it seems telling that not a single black Republican congressman heckled Obama.

Wilfredo, perhaps you should have read my entire post, there was nothing racist in Mr. Wilson’s comments, was it rude, sure it was, was it treason, not even close, I fail to understand the Left’s selective memory to justify their position. Does no one remember the crowed at the White House in January as Pres. Bush and his wife where leaving for the last time to go to the swearing in, and all of the people that where booing him and singing some ridiculous song? Then there is outrage and racist overtones to a single word uttered during a speech.
Civil behavior, has been thrown under the bus, and I for one, attempt to stay above the fray, I don’t call people names, but every time someone disagrees with this President a charge of racism is leveled, against the person, or group of people, the Tea Party Movement is for instance not a racist movement as portrayed by certain Hollywood entertainers, MSNBC, CNN, or others, I wish that we could all just agree on both sides to a spirited debate, but on every blog site I go to, people throw out the racism card to cover for their own lack, or ability to articulate their views.

We just finish 8 years of lies of omission and lies of commission about everything from WMD to Iraq involvement in 9/11 to Iraq support for al Qaeda to nobody envisioning airline attacks on American targets to Niger uranium to unmanned aerial vehicles capable of reaching our shores to reconstituted nuclear weapons programs —-the list goes on and on—used to justify an enormously costly invasion of a country that was not involved in the 9/11 attacks, the cost of which would pay for 30 to 50 years of this health plan.

But now that the Republicans are out of office, suddenly the exacto knives of logic splitting are pulled out to carve out minor inconsistencies and serve them up as LIES!

Hypocrisy.

I’d rather have illegal immigrants buy insurance than not have it, and then show up at the emergency room for care, which emergency rooms are currently required to provide. It’s much less of a burden on taxpayers if illegals buy insurance.

The gravamen of Wilson’s complaint is that Obama was lying about the bill not providing federal dollars for the health care of illegal immigrants in the same way that it will pay for and subsidize health care for American residents and legal immigrants. Obama was telling the truth and Wilson being dishonest on that point. That illegals might enjoy a small collateral benefit because the health care program is ‘administered by the federal government’ is a small detail that doesn’t invalidate Obama’s main point–we are not going to provide free health insurance for illegal immigrants under the new bill.

So Obama “insists” that the public plan be self-sufficient and rely solely on the premiums it collects. That’s it. He “insists”. Nothing specific, of course, on how exactly he intends to make this happen.

And this is the basis of your insistence that Mr. Obama “lied” about providing coverage for illegal immigrants? That’s quite a stretch, Stretch.
