The idea behind rational self-interest is to realize that looking out solely for your own immediate interest is not actually what is best for you. It’s to take a broader, longer-term view. To recognize that, while it may seem bothersome to have to “waste” effort carrying that wrapper until you find a trash can, littering in the park leads to others littering in the park and reduces the amount of enjoyment you get from it overall.

He fed the poor and healed the sick and set an example of how we should live our lives. Helping the poor and providing health care for the sick are core principles of the Democratic Party, which Republicans oppose at every opportunity. The Republican party is the party of “rational self-interest” (GREED) and promotes the idea that some people are more deserving than others. If you are poor, you deserve to be poor and if you are rich you deserve to be rich, no matter how you got there. This is the very definition of evil described throughout the Bible.
