Thank you! I thought I was the only one confused by Steel's interview! IF it is a 'true' reform bill, aren't we going to reform Medicare which IS broken? Won't the elderly now on medicare be part of the "everyone can have health insurance plan"? And in theory, shouldn't that actually increase their current care levels and reduce their costs?
Also, IF the 'reformer's' authoring the bill just presented the new plan as.. "We're fixing (reforming) the current mediCARE plan and lowering the age, income and property limitations so that anyone can use it as either an insurance'supplement' [to existing insurance that doesn't cover some illness/treatments?]or a Primary Plan if you don't have insurance. ALL Americans can now have healthcare that is currenlty afforded to prison inmates, homeless people, illegal aliens (terrorists included), and govt employees whose health plan WE ARE paying for now."
Then the conservatives could tout, "bout dang time I got something for my tax dollars".
Also, didn't Steel refer to his "personal" bad experience w/Medicare Plan D,and intonate how it impacts his current opinion of the Reform Act? Didn't 'they' bust Sodameir for having personal opinions based on her life experiences?

It sounded more like something out of “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.”

Oddly enough, the results are much the same.

Here's a recipe sample, Quake.

Crisped Mynah bird with Swirled Arugulas

Ingredients:
1 mynah bird
7 jars desperate arugula, capably baked
1 ounce tomato, rinsed
3 sticks mushy cow wing, philosophically shredded
6 teaspoons unsweeted chocolate
1 stick rosemary

Pick over the ingredients and discard excess paper. Place the mynah bird into a large skillet. Combine the arugula with the tomato over medium heat in a skillet. Stuff the resulting goo into the mynah bird. Whisk the cow wing, unsweeted chocolate, and the rosemary stintingly. Heap the latter combination on to the former. Do not bake for 82 minutes. Instead, crisp as if your breath depended on it. Serves 9.

I used to think Steele embarrassed the GOP every time he opened his yap (he does, of course).

But these days, I can't think of a single Republican who's capable of stringing together more than two logically coherent sentences.

They're just spouting Markov Chains of idiocy. Especially the demented trolls here, who have an unhealthy obsession with Tears for Fears.

I'm just surprised Republican's aren't arguing that Medicare be handed over to the private sector - I guess they are still smarting from their attempt to privatize Social Security.

The reason Republicans don't believe that the Government can do anything "right" - is that when they are in power, they are incompetent. What does it say about people who despise the public sector and then chose a career in government?
