At a ‘grassroots’ rally organized by the American Petroleum Institute in Houston on Tuesday, activists bearing American flags were turned away. Oil company employees were bused in to the ‘Energy Citizens’ gathering to hear billionaire Drayton McLane Jr. attack President Barack Obama’s clean energy agenda as an economy-destroying energy tax.
Sounds about right, at least that is what Professor Richard Lindzen of MIT has to say about it.

Yup. A 38% decrease cuts things in half.
Oh, wait.
And one should always project what’s going to happen by over the next 100+ years based on a 6-8 year period. Why, I know an 8 year old who only grew an inch in the last year. Clearly by the time he’s 20 he’s going to be only a bit over 4 1/2 feet tall.
It’s all about Freedom.
Awesome. Why bother asking people to show up for a staged rally, when you can just bus in your own employees and make them cheer for you? Same effect, and so much more efficient. The best democracies are the ones you pay for, right?
If you find yourself working for a private company that forces you to attend a mandatory pep rally where your CEO feeds you all a political propaganda rant, you should start wondering where it all started going wrong for you. Employees in a company are paid to do a job. They’re not paid to serve as props for staged propaganda rallies.
I’d attend the rally if I knew I could slack off for the day. Sandwiches and soda pop would be a bonus. Bit like a school trip.
Sorry posted too soon. I’d whoop and cheer (for cash), and then leak what I did to the press.
The owner of the Astros is the keynote speaker at an Astroturf rally. It’s almost too perfect.
Crapola, you beat me to it. Besides, I thought he made his fortune in the wholesale food distribution business, not energy.
The billionaire’s name would only be more perfect if he were “Drayton McLane III”.
Actually, from most accounts, he’s a good guy.
