The News Corporation, the publishing empire controlled by Rupert Murdoch, said Thursday that it would close its money-losing free afternoon tabloid, The London Paper, ending a three-year battle for young commuters.

It is good to see that someone is able to say “fsck, well that didn’t work” instead of going the bailout route.
I saw this when I was last passing through London. It’s a tough market with alot of competition. Most of the papers are poor, but one (called the Metro)seems to be prferred (and has coverage elsewhere in the Nation too).
It’s the one thing that puts me off buying a Sky dish (and subscription) – it lines his pocket. That said, I do watch it in the pub now the cricket is on (last match of the Ashes series).
