PUBLIC OPTION: It Isn’t Dead & The Right Is Attacking
Tweet
Let slip the dogs of war.
In a clear sign that conservatives are worried that the public option could still survive, an internal memo from a top anti-health care reform group claims that ‘rumors of its death’ have been ‘greatly exaggerated,’ discusses plans to run new ads targeting it, and vows to redouble efforts to foment opposition to it at town hall meetings.
The internal memo, which I obtained from a source, was created by staffers at Conservatives for Patients Rights, the well-funded group run by controversial former hospital exec Rick Scott, who reform proponents see as public enemy number one.

“keep bringing your guns to the town halls”-Freedom Worksists
I hope Obama is starting to get it. Now is the time to fight even harder, not back down.
Well thanks to Firedoglake’s event finder I’ve learned there are a couple town halls next week within 25 miles of me in NJ, and I’m encouraging my friends to come out and push for a public option! Fortunately these are among the most progressive Congressfolks around, including Rush Holt who has taken the FDL Whip Count pledge not to support a bill without it.
And fortunately New Jersey doesn’t have a real concealed carry law, so hopefully I shouldn’t have to contend with any armed teabaggers. Unarmed but still loud and obnoxious assholes I can handle.
