Bart McEntire, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, told SPLC researchers that this is the most growth he’s seen in more than a decade.

Remember the rise of the militias in the 90s, assuming you weren’t in diapers back then? Lots of attention fell their way, most of it was unwanted. I live in Arizona, and there’s no shortage of uninformed rural hicks with big guns and small brains who like to play ’solider’ all over this state.

Militias are, at best, irrelevant. Why precisely am I trusting such people with any decision, political or otherwise? I don’t know them, and the tiny few that popped up during the 90’s all seemed like crack pots of highest caliber. They simply do not speak for me, or the average American citizen for that matter.
