As they did in the ’90s, the nutbag team is getting nods and blessings from Republicans and mainstream conservative voices.
The stress of a poor economy and a liberal administration led by a black president are among the causes for the recent rise, the report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says. Conspiracy theories about a secret Mexican plan to reclaim the Southwest are also growing amid the public debate about illegal immigration.
Bart McEntire, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, told SPLC researchers that this is the most growth he’s seen in more than a decade.
‘All it’s lacking is a spark,’ McEntire said in the report.
It’s not a coincidence that Glenn Beck is begging his audience members not to go out and Timothy McVeigh anyone.

I love militias. It’s hysterical to see a group of stupid, out of shape, bitter, racist hillbillies playing dress up solider and drinking shitty beer on the weekends, shooting paper targets on trees fantasizing about some armed insurrection so they can shoot ‘all them thar Mesicans and Kneegrows’.

I read, Joaquin. That’s how people become informed about things in case you weren’t aware. You should try it sometime.
Remember the rise of the militias in the 90s, assuming you weren’t in diapers back then? Lots of attention fell their way, most of it was unwanted. I live in Arizona, and there’s no shortage of uninformed rural hicks with big guns and small brains who like to play ‘solider’ all over this state.

Militias are, at best, irrelevant. Why precisely am I trusting such people with any decision, political or otherwise? I don’t know them, and the tiny few that popped up during the 90′s all seemed like crack pots of highest caliber. They simply do not speak for me, or the average American citizen for that matter.
This is like the ‘Citizen Grand Juries’ that think they can encompass the power of the federal government by way of… what, meeting in a living room and running a mockery of a trial? Thanks for helping, guys – but you can stop now.
