Bill Gates Made $168 Million This Month
Tweet
Since the beginning of August Gates sold 7 million out of his 726 million Microsoft shares for about $168 million.
I guess he needed some money for lunch, heh.

So … rich guy cashing out? We’ve turned the corner!!!
Some things aren’t about politics. Try it sometime.
He probably needed the cash to pay someone to remove IE8 from his home computers.
Guess his new OS rollout wasn’t quite the success he thought it would be, now that he’s dumping an obscene amount of shares in his own company.
Maybe he’s going Galt!
Or maybe he is giving the money away? He has already committed to distributing at least 95% of his estate to charity.
And do you really think his divesting less than 1% of his Microsoft holdings (not his only assets, obviously) is indicative of something monumental? It’s about as big a deal as me cashing a check for $10.00.

It sounds more like he’s pulling an Eisner.
