Maryland Third Bluest

Fear the crab.

Maryland is the nation’s third-bluest state, behind Massachusetts and Hawaii, according to the survey, which tracks how residents identify their own political leanings.

By Gallup’s analysis, 58 percent of Marylanders identify themselves as Democrats or leaning Democratic; 31 percent are Republican or leaning Republican.

Lets get those numbers up to 60, Maryland. Slackers.

Even funnier is the way this map shows you where the population centers in Maryland are. The redder, the less inhabited. I live in Montgomery County, the second bluest county.

If you cram too many life forms in too small a space, they will go crazy and start eating each other.

  2. Oh yeah? I live in the most Republican area of South Carolina, and one of the most Republican metropolitan areas of the country (Greenville-Spartanburg). Ha!

Maryland is a nice state…Well..except for Baltimore.

  3. That explains so much.

  4. Ahahahaa. At least we don’t rob 99 year old grandmothers.

  5. Suicida| says:

60% is a horrible percentage, neither party respects you. Do you think they really care what your views on issues with those numbers? Unless that is they tell you what your views are, and you like it that way.

  6. One party states= corruption.

So you’re going to judge an entire state by the actions of a single criminal act? All right, playing along on your level: No, but you do have upstanding citizens like Susan Smith drowning her two children in a lake.

  8. Wilbur says:

Maryland is still a two-party state: liberaler democrats and conservativer democrats. That’s the way it should be.

  9. Bruce says:

What’s particularly devastating for Team Red in Maryland is that O’Malley is disliked pretty intensely by a lot of people, including a lot of Democrats of course, but Democrats still would rather fight than switch.

Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the top of the heap (and I mean that literally), Massachusetts.

Is there a more ineptly run state in the union? It’s certainly not the most corrupt (Illinois and Louisiana HAVE to take those trophies), but good lord, what an ungodly mess that state is.

My best friend and his family live just outside Baltimore, and every time I visit, I commiserate with him.

(Proud New Hampshirite — no sales tax, no income tax, no seat belt or helmet laws for adults, legislators make $100.00/year plus mileage… and, unfortunately, a whole slew of freshly-elected Democrats who are working to change most of that…)

Providing specifics and examples are for pussies, aren’t they, Jay?

If I was a New Hampshirite, I’d be proud of it to for voters showing the door for John Sununu, Jr., and re-electing Paul Hodes and Carol Shea Porter.

rotter, it would take me years to document how badly Mass. is run. In fact, I have spent years documenting it. Do you REALLY want a sampling?

If so, it’ll have to wait ’til morning. I’m calling it a night soon.
