Ben Nelson Needs A Reality Pill Or Two Hundred

Ben Nelson

Ben Nelson – Democrat – is really a piece of work. The folks at Health Care Can’t Wait are running an ad and petition to get real and meaningful health care reform – with a public option – through the senate. How does Nelson respond?

In a statement issued late in the afternoon by Nelson’s office, spokesman Jake Thompson warned that if the new series of ads calling out the Senator’s “stalling” on reform were “an indication of the politics going into August, then health care reform may be dead by the end of August.”

These are the words and statements of people with no grasp on reality when it comes to this legislation. Ben Nelson (and Harry Reid) just don’t get it. They seem to think that the support they got in 2006 and beyond is going to keep them up if they just have a (D) behind their names. Conservative democrats who obstruct meaningful progress in Washington are the political equivalent of Bush Republicans, and they’ll be treated that way.

Do your job, Senator.

The Bayh Dogs don’t care if you lose your home and life savings from a medical emergency. All they care about is the Broderites giving them props during their 20k fee speeches

Senator, with all due lack of respect, without your great health care, you ‘may be dead by August.’
But you’ll be fine. You’ll be around for many more years killing any progressive initiative.
Another living example of why we need publicly funded elections.

Great ad. I hope every progressive here signs the petition, and spreads the word about it.

Senator Nelson don’t let the door hit you on your ass on the way of of the Senate at the end of your current term. See ya wouldn’t want to be ya. The Democratic majority is undercut by app 16 “conservative” democrats who seem that they should be reelected as long as they claim they are Democrats, no matter how they actually vote in the Senate. We need Democratic members of both the House and the Senate who will vote on the principles of their convictions and that of the party. Ben Nelson is faithful to the groups that bring him the biggest check, not to the citizens of his state.

So it’s all about self-preservation for that toolbox, huh?
“If you say mean thing about me, I’ll ignore my constituents….Oh wait, I was gonna do that anyway.”

Given that “the folks at Health Care Can’t Wait” are, judging by their list of member organizations, a wholly owned subsidiary of the left wing of the Democratic party, especially good ol’ ACORN (oops, I’m sorry, COMmunity organizers INTERNational), and not much in the way of a healthcare professional’s advocacy group, what gives them the authority to say what should be done about Healthcare in the first place?

Especially since it’s pretty much JUST these guys, and the Pharmaceuticals, putting out the pro-Obamacare commercials…

  8. Phil says:

Ben Nelson is a DINO – Democrat in name only. Between him and Evan Bayh, I don’t know which is the scummiest.
