Dude, you do not know.
I used to work at a non-profit TV station, and I would cover these events for later broadcast. For 4 cities – and every city has crazies. There was the nicely dressed man who ranted about gas stations. There was the guy who owned the trailer park who ranted about the municipal golf course. There was the guy who stayed after the meeting was over so he could talk about the radio in his head. And God help you if there was anything to do with traffic control. And every once in a while, a real live news van from the local networks would pop by to catch them discussing something trivial but ‘breaking’.
I miss those days; the long evenings, the technical issues we fixed on the fly. The hordes of corpses that appeared to speak on an issue that all said nearly the same thing. Democracy in action, dude – it’s important, but tell yourself that after 6 hours of re-zoning measures.
