Max Baucus Screws Americans Over For “Bipartisanship”

Baucus to uninsured Americans: suck it up, losers.

After weeks of secretive talks, a bipartisan group in the Senate edged closer Monday to a health care compromise that omits a requirement for businesses to offer coverage to their workers and lacks a government insurance option that President Barack Obama favors, according to numerous officials.

Like bills drafted by Democrats, the proposal under discussion by six members on the Senate Finance Committee would bar insurance companies from denying coverage to any applicant. Nor could insurers charge higher premiums on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions.

But it jettisons other core Democratic provisions in a reach for bipartisanship on an issue that has so far produced little.

Heck of a job as usual Harry Reid. Heck of a job.

Wish I could say I was surprised.

That’s just his excuse. He’s actually screwing us over because he’s been handsomely bribed to do so by his real constituents.

The Bobbi Flekman Principle at work. Yet again.

Here’s a funny video showing why health care reform is absolutely necessary, even for the already insured.

I say, Baucus, is there something I can take,
I say, Baucus, to relieve this belly ache.

My hope is that this was leaked by someone on his committee who realizes the political suicide this CAN-make-things-worse craptacular pile of dung is. Not only does this bill kill a public option, not only does it give billions to Big Pharma by preventing negotiations and allowing those industries even MORE control of the market, it actually will REWARD companies for dumping people who have decent health care — exactly what the boneheads on the Right have been claiming a public option would do.

But I also think that Baucus had to really want to keep this plan under wraps until AFTER the summer break. Had he done that, his lords and masters at Big Pharma would’ve flooded the airwaves to kill the public option once and for all, which would’ve made this the “Savior” of “Health care reform.” Unfortunately, by spilling the beans now, we in the grassroots can work to make this D.O.A. (and ensure that the rest of Congress will be D.O.A. if major provisions of this stinkfest ever become law). And I truly can’t see how Baucus wanted that.

So our task is clear: make the Finance/Baucus bill poisonous to any Democrat who dares support it or advocate for it.

Otherwise, kiss the Democratic Party goodbye.

Baucus is slime. He needs to switch parties so he can learn from the real filth and corruption in Congress.

What the fuck are they doing up there? That “compromise” proposal is actually WORSE than what we have now.
