What’s funny is that he says he doesn’t want to pay for others to have work done. Isn’t that the basis for insurance? Everyone pays for all subscribers, even if you yourself never have anything major done? So it’s an illogical argument, which is not surprising, since he’s throwing out anything he can so that maybe if some folks don’t believe this one maybe they will believe this other one. My only problem with Health Care paid for by govt is, the healthcare industry already overcharges us directly, what’s to stop them from simply overcharging the govt? Is there a plan in place for this?

I heard that Keith Olbermann once made fun of George Bush, Jr., who was technically President at the time. That’s pretty much the same thing as Glenn Beck, so there’s no story here.

He’s simply saying outloud what this whole “socialism” argument is from the right.
They ONLY think about blacks and latinos getting “free stuff”. THAT’S what they’re fighting against. They think of nappy-headed LaTasha and her 8 nappy-headed kids getting free health care that they paid for. That’s the image in their heads and that’s what Glenn Beck is feeding into.

What I can’t seem to understand is why these nutbags get national exposure from major media outlets (well, there is one major outlet that thrives on this crap). But, the reprehensible arrest of an internationally recognized scholar from Harvard should be instructive. Obama’s incredible election notwithstanding, racism is apparently generally accepted and agreed with in many more quarters than we’d like to admit. And I, for one, hate that fact and believe it is both unAmerican and unpatriotic.
