Obama was and always has been a US citizen.

And, whether you admit it or not, the election was finally decided in the summer of 2001. Yet the caterwauling continues to this day.

Is it exactly the same? No.
Was it unreasonable, counterproductive, and a threat, however small, to domestic tranquility? Yes, it was.

To put it into legal metaphor terms, the “stolen election” plaintiff at least had enough evidence to make it as far as a dispositive public “hearing” before being thrown out. The “birthers” don’t even get that far, the “complaint” would be dismissed on multiple grounds shortly after filing. No evidence at all to support their claim. The stolen election folks at least had some circumstantial evidence in support of their claim. These guys have nothin’.

There is some truth to Frank’s statement.

Except that Frank has it backwards, as usual: the study concluded that if the limited recount that the SC stopped had proceeded, Bush would have won, but under a total statewide recount Gore would have won.

But what was important to the Republicans was to “let the voice of the people of Florida be heard” which to them, paradoxically, meant that there should be no recount at all.

Maybe it’s because the loony left whined and moaned about the “fixed election” for eight years!.

“whined and moaned” is a very slanted description, at least after the first few months. Such complaining as there was is attributable to the fact that there were genuine oddities about how GWB was ‘elected’ in 2000. In contrast, there are no genuine oddities about Obama’s birth records – it’s all wingnut whizz.

The former Vice-President of the United States referred to himself as the man who “used to be the next president of the United States of America.”
The funny thing is, that’s not a reference to the stolen election. It’s a joke about him running for pres. John Kerry, John McCain and Walter Mondale could all make the same joke.
