Bobby Jindal Does Stimulus Two-Step
Tweet
Hey Kenneth, you aren’t allowed to take credit for dispensing stimulus money when you opposed the stimulus.
Also, VOLCANOES.

Hey Oliver, you aren’t suppose to remember that when you know the American people are supposed to have short memories.
Also, HYPOCRITES.
Nutters like Jindal and Sanford were against the stimulus bill before they were for it.
Politics aside, it’s good to see jobs being created. Let’s hope it puts a substantive debt in the Bush Unemployment numbers.
You can’t be this dumb, can you? That’d be the same as you claiming to love the NFL and someone accusing you of hypocracy because we can prove your distaste for the Cowboys.
I’ve spent the last few minutes, SaveFarris, trying to figure out what part of the anti-matter universe that analogy makes sense in. I give up.
Even before the stimulus bill was passed, wingnut politicians were going back to their home districts and telling their constituents how much pork they’d be hauling home. Then they’d go on CNN and say how bad the stimulus bill was, etc.
This is the GOP, a party that can’t wake up in the morning without committing a dozen hypocritical acts. They don’t do smaller government (2001-2008), they don’t do national defense (9/11) and they definitely don’t do moral virtue (Craig, Foley, Vitter, Ensign, Sanford, etc., etc., etc.).
Difference is, people know this, and they’re getting fewer and fewer passes from the media these days.
what part of the anti-matter universe
Qward. It makes perfect sense on Qward.
Golly, I think you’ve nailed it – the wingnuts are Qwardians in our midst!
Sorry, Qwingnuts.
Qwardnutz.
Nomenclature is important.

The “stimulus” is actually thousands of projects bundled together. That Jindal said yes to some and no to others is not suprising at all. It’s what most people do every single day of their lives. But in the “Reality Based” world, everything has to be all-or-nothing for all time.
So, you’re saying it’s ok for him to brag about dispensing stimulus money because he didn’t oppose any of the money designated for his state?
So, he’s not a hypocrite, just incredibly disingenuous.
SaveFarris, read Oliver’s post again.
Then go to the story at this link:
http://www.wwltv.com/topstories/stories/wwl030409cbstimulus.29c0d8c.html
An excerpt – “Though the Republican governor was an outspoken critic of the stimulus package, Davis said Jindal plans to use Medicaid, education, transportation and general bailout dollars, along with several other pools of smaller stimulus funds.”
Maybe we should use the word duplicitous to descibe Gov. Jindal. “Duplicity – deceitfulness in speech or conduct; speaking or acting in two different ways concerning the same matter with intent to deceive; double-dealing.”
Exorcist Jindal fanboys are awesome
So when Jindal campaigns for re-election for governor or election as a presidential candidate, will he be trumpeting his job growth record, failing to mention that it was mostly from the stimulus that he strenuously opposed?
Of course he will, it was a rhetorical question.
Lest we forget, Jindal’s anti-stimulus views were specific and targeted. If he’s now taking credit for the very program he derided, then yes, he’d deserve every bit of scorn that could be mustered.
But the story specifically mentions the pieces of stimulus Jindal touts (Medicare, transportation, education), which have nothing to do with the unemployment section he declined. This is just Oliver trying to invent a story where none exists.
I guess SF missed this part of the story:
In that case, Jindal’s office released a statement from The Nature Conservancy crediting the stimulus act. “We are very excited about this project being one of two Louisiana projects selected by NOAA for American Relief and Recovery Act funding,” state director Dr. Keith Ouchley said.
In his response to the President’s address to Congress, Jindal had complained about a similar program which funded volcano monitoring in Alaska.
Jindal also requested federal stimulus funding for a rail line between Baton Rouge and New Orleans after attacking the stimulus bill’s investment in high-speed rail.
It’s pretty clear: Jindal likes the part of the stimulus that lets him stand up there with a billboard-sized “Bobby Jindal” check and a eejit grin. The rest of it is teh soshalizzum and teh pork.
This is the GOP, a party that can’t wake up in the morning without committing a dozen hypocritical acts.
Some of them, without even getting out of bed. Theirs or someone else’s.
