Frank DiSalle: <i.In view of the fact that none of you could describe how Pres Obama won in less than 1,000 words,

Done and done.

it is no surprise that Mr Steele cannot sum up a Republican strategy for 2010 — yet. Expect a big change in that once people have been Christmas shopping with their new (inflated) “Obama – dollars”.

And there's the Republican leadership we've come to expect: "I don't have any plans until I see what you're doing and then my plan is to complain about it."

Is it just me, or is Mr. Steele implying an equivalence between “relationship” and “hand job” with his gesture at 0:11?

OMFG, BIG Win.

Obama beat Clinton because his team had a better ground game, because he was opposed to the war, and because, in the eyes of his most ardent supporters, he was, like the Kennedys and Reagan before him, charismatic and a vehicle for their own aspirations.

Obama ran a solid fall campaign, risk-averse and painstakingly executed as befitted his front-runner status. But it didn't really matter who the Democrat was, he/she was nearly certain to win, given the fundamentals of the economy and the wide contempt and derision with which the current Republican president was regarded. McCain's ineffectual and rudderless campaign didn't help, but that was to some degree determined by the Bush legacy, the unambiguous embrace or disavowal of which would have been (because of McCain's dependence upon the base of his party) equally fatal.

I'm guessing around 150 words, leaving 850 to spare, and not a one of them controversial. Do I win?

After the most unpopular administration in recent memory Obama ran a highly disciplined campaign which spoke to people's hopes and presented actual plans against a doddering old man who believed we should just keep doing more of the same and that an uninformed, inexperienced person was the best choice as running mate.

There. 52 words.

'I don’t understand the Left’s penchant for underestimating the opposition. Anyone want to explain it to me ?
Thanks in advance .'

Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Newt Gingrich, Michael Steele, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney.

This winning line-up is why the Right in the US is where it is now, on the outside looking in and attempting to scare their 'base' with a load of shit about how America is suddenly being led by a Muslim, Socialist, terrorist who was not born in the US.

Make sense to you now?

Oliver, I wish I had only been wrong two times since 2004. But, no, I am referring to your exaggeration of Mr Steele's statement. It is the usual litany of excuses for being defeated, when you really have no idea why you lost.

In view of the fact that none of you could describe how Pres Obama won in less than 1,000 words, it is no surprise that Mr Steele cannot sum up a Republican strategy for 2010 -- yet.
Let’s bet on which state in the lower 48 she’ll be based in.

Idaho, her birth state, where lots of other white-trash-power separatists hang out, where Former-First-Dude can snowmobile to his heart's content, where there's plenty of large wild quadrupeds to shoot, and still far enough north-west so she can keep an eye on Putin's head rearing.

Wow; I can't wait for Romney to 'rock out,' or Palin to get 'funkified' for 2010.

It's all downhill for the GOP for at least the next 7 years, because Steele is the guy they're betting on to look out from the abyss and lead them back from the brink of utter irrelevance.

And all this time I thought it would be Dumbya they'd blame for their downfall...who knew?
