I am further asserting that this is a grandstand play by Speaker Pelosi to cover tacit approval of waterboarding. If we open the door to putting former Presidents on trial, we will get what we got from 1996 to 2000 – a Presidency hobbled by a never ending investigation. Not this time, as salivating Democrats chase skittish Republicans, but the next time Republicans return to power.

But now that that convenient line of attack isn’t useful, right winger “Frank DiSalle” thinks the increasingly credible accusations that the CIA specifically lied to Congress is ‘boring’.

Moreover, the current report says that the CIA under Republican President Bush’s leadership had been lying to Congress throughout Republican Bush’s term despite the CIA’s legal obligations to keep the Congress informed as part of the Legislative Branch’s Constitutional oversight.

That’s extremely important.

The CIA has undoubtedly lied to many administrations, probably even in its prototype as the OSS. But, of course, now that we suspect that they may have lied during the Bush administration {about what, we are not yet sure}, now’s the time to fetch the pitchforks, torches and axe handles and head for the old mill.
