They’re all stormfront posters on the inside. None of them even make enough money to be repubs so they’re in the party for racial motives
I can’t wait to see Dennis the Bigot et al’s defense of this one. Watermelon’s on the White House lawn is not necessarily racist in their mind, but what about coon? Is that racist enough to warrant a mention of the Southern Strategy?
And the Southern Strategy is relevant here. If you rely on a politic strategy that is absolutely racist, you will attract racist people to your party. And these racist people will say racist things.
Hmm… I wonder which is greater: jr’s desire to get the first comment on every thread, or his desire to say the most hatefully stupid, inane, idiotic thing possible?
What the hell. Could be both.
By the way, jr, in regards to your earlier “witticism” about Sarah Palin being comparable to Andrea Yates: you’re still cordially invited to go fuck yourself with a rusty chainsaw.
J.
Her defense is weak, but plausible: she was responding to the first comment, not the second. I’ve made that mistake — starting a response, then waiting a bit too long to post it that something else gets posted in the meantime — several times here.
That being said, her argument is undermined by her not trashing the hell out of the idiot as soon as she noticed the comment.
Idiots like him — and, probably, her — do the world a favor when they do things like this. It makes them easier to identify.
Somewhat like those so-called “feminists” who attacked Palin on sexist grounds, in the most vile of sexist and sexually vile language…
J.
A warning to those who might consider reminding Mr. Tea of the topic of the current thread: Beware. He may call you a name.
Rest assured, Quaker, I only pull a “Newsy” under extreme provocation.
And oddly enough, I started typing my first comment when jr’s was the only one up. Strowbridge sneaked his in between when I hit “reply” and “submit.” It was a perfect representation of what I was speculating might have happened.
J.
Strowbridge is one sick puppy.
Like any nutcase conspiracy theorist looking for vindication of his lunacy.
Southern Strategy: “See, I told you there was a Southern Strategy! Woo hoo! It’s twu, it’s twu… or my name’s not Southern Strategy, by God.”
“Thank you, Oliver, for vindicating me. You rock!”
It was a perfect representation of what I was speculating might have happened.
Yes, I see that. Likewise, my experience with your first and second posts.
I’m being very honest when I say this, Quaker, but when I read jay Tea’s post and his mention of Sarah Palin, then I saw your name just below, I pretty much knew you were going to say what you did. Not that I’m criticizing it, just that we all seem to know everyone’s habits by now.
Southern Strategy is somewhat different in that regard. I never know when he’s going to bring up the Southern Strategy. Just when you least expect it….BAM.
Not that I’m criticizing it, just that we all seem to know everyone’s habits by now.
Hbits? First on the list is engage in idle sniping when there’s not much in the news. I give some, I get some.
Big surprise…asshole republicans are little cowardly racist goons who make snide remarks online where they dont have to worry about getting a fist in their face.
not to worry though, it’s not like these junior GOP losers have any non-white friends they associate with on a regular basis.
Well, the normal quibbling between all is going on, but is there anyone here who is willing to state the following:
1. This was not a racial statement.
2. The potential next President of the Young Republicans Club did not condone racism.
Those are the main questions.
Hey wingnuts, where’s Trig’s birth certificate?
Not true and definitely not true if you’re talking about me, Burned. I was calle out by Southern Strategy so I responded to Southern Strategy. As to what was said, I’m sorry, but if you want to find racism and you go looking for it, you will always be able to find it. OW goes looking for it. That’s fine, he can do what he wants. I just responded to Strowbridge, and I’d love to say what I did to his face and I’d have no qualms saying it to yours either.
“Obama Bin Lauden [sic] is the new terrorist… Muslim is on there side [sic]… need to take this country back from all of these mad coons… and illegals.”
Definitely not a racial statement…nope.
Smith,
I think the answers to your questions are obvious and not arguable.
I’d add a third one: Can the Republican Party afford to call out its fringe players and show them the door? I’d say it’s in their own interests, but then I’d be ignoring the advice of the late Mr. Gilliard: When your opponent is drowning, toss him an anvil.
Dennis is right. Republicans are never racist and you’re all just looking for racism. Some people think white cloaks and burning crosses are signs of racism, but Dennis just sees people who are cold and make their own coats and fires to warm themselves. They’re self-starters, lifting themselves up by their bootstraps. True Americans!!
Dennis is just a great guy, always seeing the good in people.
Jay Tea,
I am not sure that the excuse she used was plausible or not. Three reasons,
1. That guy made two posts two minutes apart. She posted 8 minutes later.
2. She “de-friended” the individuals who said the post was racist, and kept the guy that said we needed to get rid of the coons.
3. She stated, “You tell em!” In my opinion his first posting was a question, his second posting, (which I believe she was responding to), was a declarative statement. Hence, her saying “You tell em Eric LOL!” is logically what she was responding to.
Quaker,
LOL! I love that about the anvil. Generally, I try and refrain from accusing someone of being racist, because I find that it can be counterproductive and people seemed to be “tainted” after they make accusations. However, in this case I think it was blatantly racist. I think that the Republican Party needs to realize right, wrong, or indifferent, that the vote that put President Obama in office was a message to the way that the Republican Party has handled affairs. They can keep the core principles of true conservatism without all of this extra nonsense.
LOL Quaker,
“Hbits? First on the list is engage in idle sniping when there’s not much in the news. I give some, I get some.”
Kudos for candor. This thread doesn’t give me much room
to work in. I think I’ll echo JT’s comments to jr. and invite up to AK to pontificate at length in the bar of his choice. The results will be worse than the rusty chainsaw.
I had no idea that coon came from a french word for cage. I’m not asking this to be provacative but does nigger come from niger or is it a corruption of negro?
I wish I had come up with the anvil line, DK. That was Steve Gilliard.
For reasons I can only guess at, some pockets of the GOP still look away when folks like Mr. “Piker” show up in their midst. It’s possible that they don’t want to chase away a reliable vote, but that way seems limiting to me. Looks like they’d gain some upside potential if they shed these types.
Now stand by. I’m sure someone will show us the equivalence card here in just a second or two.
does nigger come from niger
It comes from the mouths of the subnormal.
If you want an ace of equivalence look no further than feminists and Palin.
You know what, I just reread what Burned said and I assumed he was talking about Jay Tea and me. Now I realize he wasn’t, so:
My apologies, Burned.
————–
Quaker,
That’s no answer unless you are comfortable calling much of our inner city youth subnormal. It’s an honest question,
If you want an ace of equivalence look no further than feminists and Palin.
The Democratic Party would gain some upside by dumping feminists?
I don’t think so.
It’s an honest question,
And my honest answer is that the word’s origins are immaterial. The word’s destiny should be obsolescence.
Tell it to the rappers.
When you spoke of equivalence I thought you meant intellectual purity not the pragmatism of optimising vote accumalation.
Amused Observer,
Quaker is right about that statement, and I am completely comfortable calling inner city youth or anyone else for that matter “Nigger, Nigga, Niggette, Niggest, Niggimus, or any other variation that is supposedly going to give it different meaning than when a fat guy dressed like Boss Hogg says it.
That was supposed to say, I am completely comfortable calling inner city youth, “subnormal” for using any variation of the term.
I’m not arguing with you but I am unclear as to your meaning. Quaker made 2 statements. It comes from the mouths of subnormals, and the origins are immaterial, The word’s destiny should be obsolescence.
You said that at least one of Quaker’s statements is correct and that “I am completely comfortable calling inner city youth or anyone else for that matter “Nigger, Nigga, Niggette, Niggest, Niggimus, or any other variation that is supposedly going to give it different meaning than when a fat guy dressed like Boss Hogg says it.”
I presume you mean a fat white guy but your meaning is unclear to me.
OK, now I get it. You posted while I was writing.
@ Amused Observer,
Yes. Sorry for the confusion.
Yes, exactly. I don’t want to be called that by anybody. I was once referred to as a Punk Ass Nigga by a black sailor in an airport. I don’t know if I have ever been that pissed off. Not because the word was “hurtful”, but because there was a large audience and I was embarassed.
I have never heard that word used in a context that wasn’t ignorant. Saving all of the outrage in the world for white people when they say that really doesn’t make sense if we are accepting of its usage, regardless of connotation by other blacks.
@Smith
Followed your link above. Awesome stories.

J.G.Thayer: “Her defense is weak, but plausible: she was responding to the first comment, not the second. I’ve made that mistake — starting a response, then waiting a bit too long to post it that something else gets posted in the meantime — several times here.”
You are completely ignoring the fact that she ‘de-friended’ the two people who spoke out against this racist piece of shit.
Did you not read that part of the story?
That completely destroys her defense.
It is simply not plausible based on the facts.
AO: “I had no idea that coon came from a french word for cage. I’m not asking this to be provacative but does nigger come from niger or is it a corruption of negro?”
No one knows for sure, but the theory I’ve seen is a corruption of negro. Specifically, Southern Whites mispronouncing the word.
Young Republicans Struggle With Calling Obama A “Coon”
Struggle? I didn’t notice any struggle. That word virtually rolled right off his virtual tongue, without a trace of additional effort. There was no struggle.
The republican party, and the slightly wider conservative movement, either has to purge racism or resign itself to being a minority that isn’t taken seriously.
The former ain’t gonna happen. Not in the foreseeable future, anyway.
I wish I had come up with the anvil line, DK. That was Steve Gilliard.
I heard it as a James Carville line — “when your opponent’s drowning, throw the son-of-a-bitch an anvil!”
No offense to Mr. Gilliard, but I’m fairly certain Carville’s usage predates his.
And as far as the sentiment goes… it’s a bit too “kick someone when they’re down” for me. I prefer Napoleon’s “never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake.”
J.
Dennis the Bigot: “Strowbridge is one sick puppy.”
Yep. That’s what I thought. Instead of being upset that there is such a massive amount of racism in the Republican party, Dennis the Bigot is more upset that I’m pointing it out. At least J.G.Thayer pretends* to be upset at the conduct of these people. You don’t even bother. You revel in your racism.
Calling me sick and obsessed is nothing more than projection.
* – And yes, he’s pretending. No one can look at the facts of this case and claim her defense is plausible.
1.) Man uses a racist term.
2.) Two people complain.
3.) Woman ‘defrieds’ those who complained.
4.) Shit hits the fan.
5.) She comes up with bullshit defense.
Not even close to being plausible.
No offense to Mr. Gilliard, but I’m fairly certain Carville’s usage predates his.
Could be. I picked it up from someone who credited it to Gilliard.
And as far as the sentiment goes… it’s a bit too “kick someone when they’re down” for me. I prefer Napoleon’s “never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake.”
The imagery is better in the anvil version. Anvils are among the funniest objects known to mankind.
I would have guessed corruption since slang sort of evolves that way taking shortcuts with syllables etc. But the coon thing totally had me fooled.
Dklsmith,
I followed your link and in the second story I think your feelings at the end were based on a visceral feeling that the guy with the phone problem was sincerely embarrassed and the officer afterwards was insincerely kissing ass. My .02
I have no idea about the origins of certain racist epithets. I thought “coon” came from “raccoon,” for some reason, but if someone says differently, (shrug) whatever.
And I’m still trying to figure out what the hell “Ofay” means, but I put it on the list of “words not to use in front of Richard Pryor while interviewing him for a job.”
J.
I think that’s similar to whitebread, someone here is bound to correct me. They like doing that.
You got that one backwards, Mr. Tea. That’s one that Mr. Pryor might use in riposte.
Google is your friend, gentlemen.
OW: “The republican party, and the slightly wider conservative movement, either has to purge racism or resign itself to being a minority that isn’t taken seriously.”
Indeed: “The former ain’t gonna happen. Not in the foreseeable future, anyway.”
Not while people like Dennis the Bigot are in the party.
Audra Shay, like Dennis the Bigot, is more interested in attacking those who attack the GOP then stamping out racism within the GOP. That’s why she ‘defriended’ the people who complained about the racist asshole and not the racist asshole.
By the way, I’m putting ‘defriended’ in scare quotes because I don’t know if that’s a real word. It’s not in my dictionary on Firefox, but it could be a new term. After all, Blog wasn’t in my dictionary either till I added it.
While indeed google is my friend there is still lots I have not asked him/her/it.
‘I’m not asking this to be provacative but does nigger come from niger or is it a corruption of negro?’
The latter; and does it really matter where racist language derives from? Would it make any difference to the derogatory nature of the phrase that it devolved from a country rather than a colloquial expression?
‘The word’s destiny should be obsolescence.’
Couldn’t agree more.
‘Tell it to the rappers.’
Tell them yourself; if you dare.
Right winger “Jay Tea” has recently gone on a binge to see how insulting he cam be.
For all of the nasty and vulgar things “Jay Te” has said, the only insult that sticks out was when right winger “Jay Tea” called me a “monkey”.
“Jay Tea” doesn’t know me, he only knows that the host of this website is black, and yet he actually went out of his way to WRITE and SUBMIT a comment calling another poster a “monkey”.
“Jay Tea”, using racist language is stupid.
WRITING racist language is really, really stupid.
Submitting racist language is really, really, really stupid.
But here you are immediately defending racist language.
At this point, “Jay Tea”, you’ve outed yourself.
Right winger “Jay Tea” now joins the ranks of the outright racist “Amused Observer” and his bootlicker “Dennis”.
But don’t worry, “Jay Tea” I defend your right to out yourself as a racist.
But I can’t defend you from the fact that you, “Jay Tea” are a racist.
Quaker, I won’t argue with you about anvils — I cherish Animaniacs’ “The Anvil Song” and the skit it came from — I like the hands-off approach of Napoleon’s.
Maybe when they’re struggling towards shore, toss ‘em an anvil, but while they’re drowning — let ‘em flail away.
J.
Right winger “Dennis” will make one of his classic ‘distraction arguments’ by bringing up a German name in 5, 4, 3, …
A summation of right winger “Jay Tea’s” ethics:
“Maybe when they’re struggling towards shore, toss ‘em an anvil, but while they’re drowning — let ‘em flail away.”
To be clear, “Jay Tea”, I don’t care that you are racist, what offends me is your use of racist language and now, here, your ludicrous defense of a Republican LEADER who clearly chose someone who USES racist language over two people who called out the use of racist language.
You’ve never been more transparent, “Jay Tea”.
LOL
The white supremacist “Amused Observer”, who has previously explained his hierarchy of races, finds an excuse to type out and Submit the N***** word.
Disingenuous AND opportunistic.
Classic “Amused Observer”.
You know what, Strowbridge, you called me out before I even read the blog post, so I responded to you before I read it. I still haven’t read it, nor have I even commented on it. You’re a sick puppy because you only have one thing on your pea-brained mind.
Calling you sick and obsessed is finally starting to sink in, even though you’re still in denial, at least outwardly.
You have nothing on me on either bigotry or racism because I am neither. You’re one sick puppy because you know other people know you’re a race-obsessed Canadian who looks for vindication for his idiotic conspiracy theories. That’s all any conspiracy theorist wants, the smoking gun vindication. Until you get it, you mock anyone who thinks you’re full of shit. You think anyone who doesn’t agree with you must be racist too, and since you can’t come up with examples, you either make it up or justify their racism in terms of their not seeing the way you do, so they therefore must be racist too.
I consulted my Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and looked up ‘one sick puppy’ and it described you perfectly. And you know what, several of my acquaintances who occasionally read this blog independently did the same thing and reached the same conclusion about you.
One sick m-f’ing puppy.
Jr.Funk,
Is there a reason to be afraid of rappers?
if you want to find racism and you go looking for it, you will always be able to find it
… from the would-be chair of an important organization within one of the country’s two major political parties.
“… does nigger come from niger … .
Oh look, it’s the Frank’s Imperial Animal again trying to be Derrida. Asshole.
Dennis the Bigot: “You know what, Strowbridge, you called me out before I even read the blog post…”
That’s cause I know you. I’ve seen you do the same countless times before. Being able to predict future behavior based on the past is a key component of being able to learn.
Also, I was right.
“You’re a sick puppy because you only have one thing on your pea-brained mind.”
And that would be…?
I ask because you also claimed I was obsessed with movies and comic books and responded to every post OW made about them.
Of course, you merely proved you can’t count past two, but that’s another story.
And the Laffer Curve. You claimed I was stalking you with questions about the Laffer Curve.
So that would be at least three things on my “pea-brained mind.”
Proving you are full of shit is too easy. It’s still fun, but it’s too easy.
“Calling you sick and obsessed is…”
Is projection. Nothing more.
By the way, if your attacks were having an effect, I wouldn’t be bringing up the Southern Strategy.
This racist outburst by a GOP member is a direct result of them using the Southern Strategy to try and win elections.
You can either argue against that statement, or you can shout “LOOK OVER THERE!” and call me ‘Southern Strategy’ and claim I’m obsessed.
Since you can’t do the former, you are left with the latter.
“You have nothing on me on either bigotry or racism because I am neither.”
You are both. You prove it every time you defend racism in the GOP.
And every time you call my ‘Southern Strategy’ and defend racism by calling me obsessed is more proof that you are a racist asshole.
“One sick m-f’ing puppy.”
The term is ‘mother-fucking’. If you are not willing to type it out in full, don’t bother.
You don’t score points for abbreviating it. You can’t claim you are more ’sophisticated’ or ‘mannered’ because you used an apostrophe.
Now, kindly fuck off.
How unsurprising. “Newsy” ignores Quaker’s decidedly un-Quakerlike attitude towards drowning people (specifically, “enemies”) and singles me out for taking a slightly less cruel approach.
Good lord, you’re a pathetic, hypocritical, humorless, obsessive little prat, “Newsy.”
I’m sorry. Let me put it in terms you’ll understand:
Pathetic, hypocritical, humorless, obsessive rabid left-winger “Newsy” is such a little prat.
J.
The mayhem was sudden, but not unexpected.
Dennis the Bigot: “…if you want to find racism and you go looking for it, you will always be able to find it”
Parthenon: “… from the would-be chair of an important organization within one of the country’s two major political parties.”
Jesus Christ. The man said, “…need to take this country back from all of these mad coons.” and Dennis the Bigot implies that we only think it is racist, because we are looking for racism.
This is why I call Dennis the Bigot Dennis the Bigot.
If you don’t think this is racist, you are a fucking racist.
This isn’t a borderline case.
It’s not like he meant to type ‘bigger’ and accidentally typed ‘nigger’.
Good lord. What would it take before Dennis the Bigot admits a member of the GOP is racist?
“canadian bacon”, responding to “Amused Observer” most recent disingenuously racist language:
“Oh look, it’s the Frank’s Imperial Animal again trying to be Derrida. Asshole.”
LOL
(that’s the best ‘in’ joke I’ve read in a year:=)
“Q in a B”:
“The mayhem was sudden, but not unexpected.”
LOL
I’d get off of this merry-go-round but it’s brought me so much amusement the last couple of seasons…
does nigger come from niger
All from the same root, meaning black.
My Black employees call others from their community by that word, but only as an insult when they are angry, and never to a stranger. A stranger might kill you for it.
Right winger “Jay Tea” thinks a “slightly less cruel approach” is watching someone suffer and then dropping the anvil.
Truly, “Jay Tea”, you are cartoonish, you parody yourself without any help.
That was my suspician Repack but the corruption theory sounded quite plausible. I had always thought that coon had something to do with raccoon because of the black mask although it didn’t really make much sense. The thought it was french never crossed my mind.
“One sick m-f’ing puppy.”
I’m sorry, Strowbridge, that was the diagnosis several people came up with independent of one another for your personality disorder.
Please don’t blame the messenger. It’s in the f’ing book.
As a aside, the diagnosis also listed the characteristic of calling other people ‘fucking retards’ as one of it’s symptoms.
You can’t argue with scientific reasoning, Strowbridge. You are what you are and the sooner you face facts, the sooner you can seek a cure. No one can help you if you won’t let them.
And I still haven’t read the blog post.
No, Strowbridge, I said that in reference to the blog post, which I didn’t read. Oliver could post these even more often than he does if he wanted to, strangely enough. I could link to racist things Democrats say, too and ask you to defend the Democrat who said it. I’m just saying because some idiot like you calls me out doesn’t mean I have to defend it and it doesn’t mean because I don’t that makes me a racist. It just means you’re a race-obsessed Canadian prick whose only experience with anything Southern is from watching Sounder, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Santini and maybe the occasional Waltons reruns, all from the relative safety of your Great White Northern apartment.
Douche.
Dennis the Bigot: “I’m sorry, Strowbridge, that was the diagnosis several people came up with independent of one another for your personality disorder.”
Was this post supposed to be an attempt at humor?
I think it was.
“You are what you are and the sooner you face facts, the sooner you can seek a cure.”
Now this is projection.
The sooner you admit you are a racist piece of shit, the sooner you can try and change.
And that’s not an attempt at humor. That’s 100% truth.
You are a racist piece of shit, who doesn’t even want to address the racism here.
But you are willing to attack me for calling it racist.
What right winger “Dennis” is referring to when he talks about “that was the diagnosis several people came up with independent of one another for your personality disorder” is the Vanity Fair article by Todd Purdum where he claimed that different people independent of one another had concluded that Republican Sarah Palin has a narcissistic personality:
“More than once in my travels in Alaska, people brought up, without prompting, the question of Palin’s extravagant self-regard. Several told me, independently of one another, that they had consulted the definition of “narcissistic personality disorder” in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders—“a pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy”—and thought it fit her perfectly.”
Dennis the Bigot: “I’m just saying because some idiot like you calls me out doesn’t mean I have to defend it…”
You are not supposed to defend it, you racist piece of shit. You are supposed to condemn it.
But instead of condemning racism, you are attacking those who attack it. You choose your side, and your side is the side of racism.
“…and it doesn’t mean because I don’t that makes me a racist.”
You are a bigot for a number of reasons. For instance, you would rather attack me and my nationality instead of denouncing racism.
“It just means you’re a race-obsessed Canadian prick…”
Q.E.D.
Thank you for proving me correct with every post.
I’m not sure what the official term is of those that follow people with a “narcissistic personality disorder”, though the rough term for people like “Dennis” is: Bootlicker.
Actually, Audra Shay may know what she’s doing. Her support of a racist comment may help her become elected as Chairman of the Young Republicans.
Stay classy, Republicans. And have fun losing in a landslide in 2012.
Strowbridge-
I’m attacking you because you are not even an American and you are obsessed with something in America you have no real world experience with. Tell me how often and how much you’ve actually spent time talking to people in the South. If you talked to them about race. If they told you what the Southern Strategy means to them. Honestly, I’ve lived in a southern city for 16 years now and I’ve yet to hear one person mention the name. People much smarter than you and much more versed in the area of race relations. People that know American history and Civil War history backwards and forwards and every which way but Sunday.
I’m telling you the way you are obsessed with it doesn’t match the real world, and the only experience you have comes from websites or books you read and instances you read on here, unless you care to enlighten everyone, which you’ve never taken the time to do before.
Shit, have you ever eaten barbeque before?
WTF, Strowbridge, you watch hockey and videos and pretend you’re an expert on a foreign country’s racial problems, when you’re not. You’re a f’ing fraud.
You’re more obessed with it by a factor of two than the second most obsessed person here, Strowbridge. No one, absolutely no one, talks about the freakin’ Southern Strategy as much as you do.
The previous second place finisher in Mr. ed left this place a while ago, so make that a factor of five to the second place finisher to you.
Douchebag fraud.
Do you have any idea the absurdity of that statement by Purdum is, News Refeference? So absurd that the only people who don’t find it laugh out loud hilarious that certain douchebags in Wasilla, Alaska routinely and independently consult that manual out of habit for a politician they don’t care for and independently come to the same conclusion and all independently tell Todd Fucking Purdum the same thing.
And that’s not the most absurd thing about it. No, the most absurd thing about it is that idiot conspiracy theory nuts like you and Strowbridge read it and say “Yeah, I can believe that. Works for me. She definitely has narcissistic personality disorder. It says so in the manual.”
Never mind just about every politician of note displays the same characteristics, including the current President of the United States.
You, Strowbridge and Overeducated, Underachieving Jaim are all three peas from the same pod.
God damn, News Reference, that fits you perfectly, too. Whaddya know. Amazing.
Grandiosity…check
Fantasy behavior…..most definitely check
Need for admiration……without a doubt check
Lack of empathy…..Ho boy, he doesn’t even know. Check
Yep, News Reference, add narcissistic personality disorder to your long list of diagnosed psychoses.
If they purged the racists, there’d be no party left.
Shorter Dennis: Unless you’re a racist yourself, you have no right to judge other racists like me.
Like I said, there’s a reason minorities (and women) won’t vote for the GOP. And if the GOP is incapable of reaching out, they’re doomed to be a regional party for southern white Dennises.
Is there a reason to be afraid of rappers?
None whatsoever. Please share your worldview with them at your earliest convenience. Don’t hold back. Say anything you’d say to your like-thinking cousin in private at Thanksgiving.
You can thank me later.
Indeed,
I detect a note of possible deception, could you expand on your thinking for me?
Dennis the Bigot: “I’m attacking you because you are not even an American…”
So fucking what?
“…and you are obsessed…”
I don’t think that word means what you think it means.
“…with something in America you have no real world experience with. Tell me how often and how much you’ve actually spent time talking to people in the South.”
… The Southern Strategy is named after the south. It is not limited to the south.
The Southern Strategy is used when the GOP goes after LGBT community. It’s setting up an ‘Us vs. Them’ and attacking the Them. ‘We will protect you (Gays/Blacks/Hispanics/Etc.)! So vote for us.’
Racism and bigotry isn’t limited to the South. Hell, it’s alive and well up here in Canada.
Remember how I posted links to that study that showed people with white sounding names got call backs 50% more than identical resumes. There was a similar study in Canada but with Indian sounding names and the results were close. (White people received a callback 40% more often.)
“Honestly, I’ve lived in a southern city for 16 years now and I’ve yet to hear one person mention the name.”
And I’ve read quotes by the man who helped mold it in the 1980s. What’s more important: the opinions of people who live in the South, or the architect of the Southern Strategy?
Remember, we are talking about the Southern Strategy.
“Shit, have you ever eaten barbeque before?”
… Yes. Yes I have. And I mean real BBQ (cooking low and slow with indirect heat) and not what most people call BBQ (which is grilling). I love Southern Cooking and used to go to a soul food restaurant before I moved. In fact, I’m growing collard greens in my garden so I can have homemade soul food.
However, I am at a loss trying to figure out what the fuck this has to do with racism.
“WTF, Strowbridge, you watch hockey and videos and pretend you’re an expert on a foreign country’s racial problems, when you’re not.”
You don’t have to be an expert to know that ‘Coon’ is racist.
“You’re a f’ing fraud.”
The word is ‘fucking’. Either type it out, or don’t use it at all. Trying to have it both ways just makes you look like a an angry child that doesn’t want to get in trouble with his parents for swearing.
“You’re more obessed with it by a factor of two than the second most obsessed person here, Strowbridge.”
Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.
Translation: “Waaahhhhh!”
At least you brought up an actual point in your post, wrong though it was.
The Southern Strategy isn’t limited to the South, although it is named after the South.
Since you are a Southern, it could explain why you take it so personally.
I don’t give a fuck, but at least it explains a lot.
By the way, any spittle get on your computer screen during your rant? I know if I typed that out you guys would have accused me of being mentally unbalanced.
Of course, with you guys it is nothing but projection.
I’m merely mocking you.
Jaim: “Shorter Dennis: Unless you’re a racist yourself, you have no right to judge other racists like me.”
That about sums it up.
“Like I said, there’s a reason minorities (and women) won’t vote for the GOP. And if the GOP is incapable of reaching out, they’re doomed to be a regional party for southern white Dennises.”
They don’t even recognize the problem.
If, and this is a huge if, if they recognize there are individual racist people within the GOP, they dismiss them as an aberration.
They don’t understand that this is not a fluke. This is a direct result of using racism as a political tool to win election. This strategy was given the name, ‘The Southern Strategy’ because it was first used to gain the support of the ‘Dixiecrats’ who left the Democratic party after they supported the Civil Rights movement. Over the years it was refined by many politicians, including Lee Atwater, who is probably the single biggest person when it comes to its development.
It is still used today in the immigration debate, which has the GOP catering to people who would not only throw out all 12 million illegal aliens (good luck with that) but would also close the border to legal immigration, attack the use of Spanish in debates, etc.
But what do I know? I’m just a Canadian Douchebag Fraud. (I think I’ll get business cards printed out with that.) There’s no reason to correct the statements I’ve made, just dismiss it all because I don’t live in the United States.
Life is so much easier when you don’t care about logic.
Jaim, little child, there is nothing more pathetic than a white overeducated numbskull like you who has all the prestigious degrees from private schools that a wealthy father can provide for a brash young punk like you calling another person racist just as a childish taunt when he no other ammunition save for the charge he has to make up to do it.
It’s futile to ask you for any kind of evidence you have because you never have any, just a lack of condemnation for the things you demand condemnation for.
Tell me what you are doing in S. Korea to help stop racism in America. Is oliverwillis.com the place where white guys go to lessen their white guilt by calling other people racists because they don’t think like you do.
Punk.
“Dennis”, I don’t think much of Purdum but since you keep bringing him up I’ll keep pointing to the article where Purdum says that multiple people concluded that Republican Sarah Palin has a narcissistic personality disorder.
People can draw their own conclusions about Republican Sarah Palin’s erratic, delusional behavior.
Personally, I think Republican Sarah Palin reflects poorly on Republican John McCain’s judgement and refects even more poorly on the current state of the right wing.
Republican Sarah Palin is NOT a serious person and the right wingers that figured that early on and spoke up against her at least saved some of their integrity.
Current supporters of Republican Sarah Palin are divided into two groups: Con-artists and the conned.
You, “Dennis”, manage to be both simultaneously: Con-artist and conned.
Strowbridge-
I am not Southern, I’ve just lived in a southern city for the last 16 years. I could pick out fifteen people here that are liberals and diehard Democrats and ask them about the Southern Strategy and they would not have a clue what it was. They would not know who Lee Atwater was other than they might connect him to Ronald Reagan. Again, I am saying that your obsession over it does not match the prevalence. I could pick out 10 blacks in this town and I would venture to say they wouldn’t have a clue about the southern strategy. We have a black mayor, and to my knowledge and a google search, has never mentioned the Southern Strategy.
I ask you as I’ve asked Jaim, what are you doing to combat racism in America, in the South or anywhere? Do you travel down to Seattle and go into the inner city and try to coax black kids to stop using the N word, since you’re so obsessed with racism? What do you do personally? That’s why I’ve asked you about your experience with the south that you take so much pleasure in deriding.
Exactly what is it about calling people racists on oliverwillis.com that turns you on so and makes you feel like you’re doing something to stop the Southern Strategy as you know it? It’s classic white guilt you have, Strowbridge. It makes you feel like you’ve done something to call people racists, even if it takes making crap up to do it. Something, anything to erase the guilt.
You’re a weakling, Strowbridge. It oozes from your pores. It’s unmistakeable.
Just STFU, News Reference. You only say that because you’re an admitted Andrew Sullivan lackey and he’s been saying nothing but that for the last 10 months but none more so than last Friday. You repeat it and pretend it’s an original thought.
You fool no one.
No one, News Reference. You’re a complete fraud without one original thought in your brain. If I wanted to know what you are going to say on any thread that pops up here I have only to click on a few liberal web sites it’s obvious you favor and wait for you to post the same thing I just read.
They would not know who Lee Atwater was other than they might connect him to Ronald Reagan.
George H. W. Bush, not Reagan.
“Personally, I think Sarah Palin…”
Bullshit, Newsie. Why don’t you have the decency to just say ‘Personally, I agree with Andrew Sullivan who says Sarah Palin…”, since he says EXACTLY the same thing you think personally and you repeat everything he ever says here?
Is that what the moniker ‘News Reference’ means? References to other people without the decency of citation or accreditation?
Not to split hairs with you, oh hair-splitting one, but technically, since they barely know who he is, chances are they wouldn’t be able to connect him to George H.W. Bush or Reagan.
Nevertheless, thank you. I stand corrected and am humbled by your attention to detail when the cause is justified.
Wait a second, I thought that wasn’t right and I thanked you too soon before I even checked. Why did I doubt myself? Because I assumed you wouldn’t correct me unless I thought you had done some homework? Silly me.
Harvey LeRoy “Lee” Atwater (February 27, 1951(1951-02-27) – March 29, 1991) was an American political consultant and strategist to the Republican party. He was an advisor of U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush and Chairman of the Republican National Committee.
Sorry, Dennis.
Just wanted to make sure you didn’t scoop me up in your 15 picks:
I could pick out fifteen people here that are liberals and diehard Democrats and ask them about the Southern Strategy and they would not have a clue what it was. They would not know who Lee Atwater was other than they might connect him to Ronald Reagan.
I might spoil the outcome for you.
Are you sure you want to go this route, Dennis?
As you wish. Following your own cite:
Atwater’s obit:
Right winger “Dennis’s” obsession with conservative writer Andrew Sullivan is likely because “Dennis’s” outdated copy of the “Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders” (DSM) includes improperly listing homosexuality as a disorder.
Don’t worry, “Dennis”, the current DSM doesn’t include your attraction to Andrew Sullivan as a “disorder”.
You’d be much happier if you accepted yourself as who you are.
You obsession with Andrew on the other hand… very unhealthy.
I don’t care, Quaker. I can split hairs with the best of them.
How would you know the 15 people in my town who I picked out might not connect Atwater to Reagan? If I walked up to people with a video camera like Sam Seder did at the Fire David Letterman rally and asked them if they were aware of the Southern Strategy and they said ‘yes, I vaguely remember’ and then I asked them who Lee Atwater was and what President he worked for on the ’supposed Southern Strategy’ and they answered ‘Ronald Reagan, I think’, would that be all that surprising to you? Seriously, I’ve never heard anyone bring it up other than when I first read Bob Herbert from the NY Times and Krugman reference it when McCain spoke in Meridian, MS to start his campaign, as if that was some sort of dog whistle. That was before I saw this website and witnessed Strowbridge mention it every single day.
News Ref, why do you equate Andrew Sullivan with homosexuality every time his name is mentioned? Good God, even though I don’t agree with and think he’s a sick bastard for his Trig Trutherism, he’s a lot more than what sex he is attracted to. Why do you reduce him to that?
How would you know the 15 people in my town
Oh, I see. When you wrote “here,” I thought you meant here on OW’s comments threads. You meant in your town.
Carry on.
Dennis the Bigot: “Jaim, little child, there is nothing more pathetic than … Punk.”
Dennis the Bigot starts his rant by calling Jaim a ‘little child’.
More proof that he is the master of projection.
How is it ‘proof’, Mr. Scientific Method.
What methodology did you use to determine your ‘proof’.
Your fucked up belief system?
‘Dennis says something about someone that I could make the same charge about him if I wanted to, just because, well darn it, just because it’s a blog and I can. Therefore I have ‘proved’ his projection.’
Strowbridge is an idiot.
Why can’t you tell me what you’ve done to stop racism, Strowbridge?
Why can’t you tell me what your experiences are with either white or black Southerners?
Dennis the Bigot: “I am not Southern, I’ve just lived in a southern city for the last 16 years.”
Wouldn’t that make you a Southern?
Seriously, how long do you have to live somewhere before you can claim you are from there?
You could say, ‘Originally I’m from Chicago, but now I’m from the South.’
(On a side note, I don’t know where you are originally from, nor do I care. I merely choose Chicago at random as an example.)
“I could pick out fifteen people here that are liberals and diehard Democrats and ask them about the Southern Strategy and they would not have a clue what it was.”
So?
I could probably find 15 Canadians that don’t know that lacrosse is the national sport of Canada. That doesn’t mean it’s not.
Seriously, what point are you trying to make here?
“They would not know who Lee Atwater was other than they might connect him to Ronald Reagan.”
Again, I ask, ‘So fucking what?’ What is the point you are trying and failing to make.
I sense you are at least trying to make a point, so I’m giving you points for that.
“Again, I am saying that your obsession over it does not match the prevalence.”
Except your evidence is lack of name recognition, and that’s it.
“I could pick out 10 blacks in this town and I would venture to say they wouldn’t have a clue about the southern strategy. We have a black mayor, and to my knowledge and a google search, has never mentioned the Southern Strategy.”
Ask them if they think the GOP has a problem with racism. You will get a different answer.
And The Southern Strategy is the reason why the GOP has a problem with racism.
Your argument is like saying, ‘Most people don’t know who Ollie North is, therefore Iran-Contra wasn’t a real scandal.’
“I ask you as I’ve asked Jaim, what are you doing to combat racism in America, in the South or anywhere? Do you travel down to Seattle and go into the inner city and try to coax black kids to stop using the N word, since you’re so obsessed with racism?”
The word isn’t racist. It’s the way people use it.
Although I admit there’s differing opinions here. Some say by using the word, ‘Nigger’ blacks are hurting themselves and making it acceptable for white racists to use the term.
I think this argument is fucking retarded. Like the KKK needs permission to call blacks niggers.
Does anyone seriously believe this?
No.
I think what it does is lessen the effect when racist people use it, the same way Gay Pride Parades use over-the-top gay stereotypes to celebrate their community.
I think white people can use the term ‘nigger’ and not be racist. I’m using it in an academic sense, so it is not racist to use it.
AO asked about its origins. It’s not racist to use it there and I didn’t accuse him of being racist for using it instead of ‘the N-word’.
“What do you do personally? That’s why I’ve asked you about your experience with the south that you take so much pleasure in deriding.”
Again… The Southern Strategy is named after the South, it is not limited to the south.
As for stopping racism, you can’t. You can only educate. Identify racism. Isolate it. And diminish it through ridicule.
“Exactly what is it about calling people racists on oliverwillis.com that turns you on so and makes you feel like you’re doing something to stop the Southern Strategy as you know it? It’s classic white guilt you have, Strowbridge.”
Yeah, that’s it. Calling blacks, ‘mad coons’ isn’t racist and the only reason I think that way is because of White Guilt.
This is why I call you a fucking racist piece of shit.
We were actually having a discussion, but you can’t handle it.
You have dismiss real racism as ‘White Guilt’.
“You’re a weakling, Strowbridge. It oozes from your pores. It’s unmistakeable.”
Projection.
100% projection.
Dennis the Bigot: “How is it ‘proof’, Mr. Scientific Method.”
Good lord. Do I really have to explain this to you? You called Jaim a child in your childish rant.
It’s projection. Textbook projection.
Unless you have a total lack of self-awareness, in which case it would just be ironic.
Dennis the Bigot: “Why can’t you tell me what you’ve done to stop racism, Strowbridge?
Why can’t you tell me what your experiences are with either white or black Southerners?”
Here’s a question for you. …
Do you think calling blacks ‘mad coons’ is racist?
I love it when Dennis loses his bigoted, racist mind.
It’s happening about once a day now.
I think losing Caribou Barbie has had a deep impact on his sick and twisted little psyche.
Seriously Dennis, get a job. You’ll feel better about yourself, and you won’t spend so much time on the internet making yourself look so damn foolish.
Wow,
This has gone much farther than what I thought. I think that we have beaten the ground “around” the dead horse. Again, does anyone think that it is NOT racist to call black people “coons”?
Does anyone think that the young lady in question did not appropriately respond to the comment on the Facebook page that she is the administrator of?
Does anyone think that because rappers use the word nigger or some derivative in songs, that it is okay to refer to anyone as a coon, or to tell blacks not to “let the sun set on yur black ass?”
Come on people, I know that we have to make arguments to defend our respective parties, but wrong is wrong. I agree that the constraints of political correctness sometimes hamper open and honest debate. But you don’t fight over-the-top political correctness by arbitrarily being an asshole.
Dkelsmith: “Again, does anyone think that it is NOT racist to call black people ‘coons’?”
Apparently Dennis the Bigot does not. He thinks we think it’s racist out of some form of ‘White Guilt’.
Sigh… I need to call in an expert here.
Quaker, you’re superb at playing the pedantic “gotcha” game. Could you give “Newsy” a few pointers on how to do it in a way that at least bears a passing resemblance to logic? At least when you do it, it is loosely based on sanity…
J.
J.G.Thayer: “Sigh… I need to call in an expert here.”
I have a question for you. Do you think calling blacks, ‘mad coons’ is racist? Or do I think that way due to a bad case of ‘White Guilt’?
I’d love to hear your expert opinion.
Why, thank you, Strowbridge. I wasn’t talking to you, or even about you, so it’s rather rude of you to horn in, but I’ve grown accustomed to it. Much like our vice president, “that’s just Strowbridge being Strowbridge.”
Now, I will cheerfully defer to your expertise on calling racism. Why, you find it in the most astonishing places, in areas where no reasonable human being could ever do it!
As for my own opinion on the “mad coons” thing…
Yes, it’s a racist term. But it’s not one of the worst ones. It’s far less offensive than “nigger” or the variants thereof, but worse than “jig” or “jigaboo” or “spook.” It’s also of questionable origin and specific meaning. It seems to be mainly used by old farts who think it’s not as likely to get them in trouble as “nigger,” and young assholes who think they can sneak it by their ignorant peers.
It also has a non-racist application. Here in New England, when we talk about coons, it’s usually in the context of small animals that like to get in our trash. Or, as one of my friends recently discovered, raiding chicken coops — and two of those coons didn’t survive that experience. Both she and her husband are good shots — especially at point-blank range, as those raccoons discovered.
The assholes who use it in the racist sense need to be slapped around for it.
On the other hand, it’s quite useful when people do use it. It helps us identify the assholes when they distinguish themselves like that. It’s why I love things like Klan rallies. Assholes like that do their “best” work in secret. When they expose themselves like that, it lets us recognize them, watch them, keep an eye on them.
Now, to others have a moral obligation to speak up against it? Yes, but failure to speak up doesn’t imply agreement. The old line about how “silence equals assent” is bullshit.
If that’s the case, I would point out how everyone who commented on the “Unintelligible” thread and did NOT condemn the asshole “jr” comparing Sarah Palin to Andrea Yates is, tacitly, agreeing with jr.
By your standard, Strowbridge, it seems that those who did not condemn jr are siding with him. And Oliver, in tolerating both the remark and jr’s ongoing presence, is endorsing what he said.
I don’t accept that standard. I think Oliver and I, for all our differences, have similar attitudes towards asshole commenters: let them speak, let them make assholes of themselves, and let others denounce him. Let his assholery stand as testament to what an asshole he is. Don’t protect him from the consequences of his remarks.
That was my position when I was editor at Wizbang, and it seems to be Oliver’s position. If I can really, really stretch it, I think he would have few problems with my decisions were I to become “comments editor” here, nor would I have any problems having him as my “comments editor.”
Not that either is likely to happen. I didn’t particularly enjoy that part of my job, and wouldn’t take it on again for love or money.
OK, enough now. I’ve gotta write something for the people who PAY me to write. As I said before, this I do purely for fun…
J.
Jay, you are truly a vile individual. Here’s a little context for the phrase “coon” as a bigoted statement on the level of the n-word:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thJXKW43pnM
Go fuck yourself over and over with a chainsaw you disingenuous piece of shit. And read a book about American history while you’re at it.
I wasn’t aware of this racial epithet heirarchy of JT’s. I suppose I always assumed one’s as bad as the next.
I think a much clearer picture of why Jaim had such troubles finding employment in America is starting to emerge.
Always had a job Dennis, unlike you parasitically living off of your wife’s admirable labor as an educator. Just wasn’t satisfied for various reasons.
What can I say? America was a dark place under Bush II. When I do come back to the States after my travels and work experiences, I’ll be happy to know there’s an adult in charge, finally. I do need to work harder on mastering Korean though, I’ll admit.
I wonder where right winger “Jay Tea” puts his calling someone a “monkey” in his “racial epithet” hierarchy?
Mr. Tea, I was not aware you had done such extensive research on the relative degrees of offensiveness of various racial epithets. Has your research been published? I’d been quite interested to read it.
‘Jr.Funk,
Is there a reason to be afraid of rappers?’
Try calling one a ‘coon’ and you’ll find out.
Blathering, clueless, conspiracy-obsessed, gibbering left-wing extremist dolt “Newsy” blathered:
I wonder where right winger “Jay Tea” puts his calling someone a “monkey” in his “racial epithet” hierarchy?
Sigh… not this again?
Well, the acceptable orthodoxy seems to say that it’s fine to call a white person a monkey (see: George W. Bush), but a grand, horrid offense when applied to a black person.
As for my own research, Strowbridge… I defer to the acknowledged experts in the field of the hierarchy of racial epithets, C. Chase and R. Pryor, and their seminal work in the field from 1975:
http://www.hulu.com/watch/1477/saturday-night-live-word-association
‘Yes, it’s a racist term. But it’s not one of the worst ones. It’s far less offensive than “nigger” or the variants thereof, but worse than “jig” or “jigaboo” or “spook.” It’s also of questionable origin and specific meaning. It seems to be mainly used by old farts who think it’s not as likely to get them in trouble as “nigger,” and young assholes who think they can sneak it by their ignorant peers.’
If you think so, then by all means use it if and/or when you talk to a Black person and see what their reaction will be to your semantic point of view.
someone here is bound to correct me. They like doing that.
Easy way to end that, AO. Stop being wrong all the time.
Pretty amazing that the two biggest screamers of racism on here, both white guys, neither one of them even took the time or had the interest to post anything at all on the Tuskeegee Airmen thread below. Not on the day of the post nor anytime after.
But a post about racism, that gets their juices flowing. Not necessarily because of what the blog post is about, but because it’s their opportunity to call anyone they don’t particular care for a racist for any reason of their choosing. Notice Strowbridge right out of the gate daring anyone to disagree with him, and then the typical tirades all through the thread. Notice Jaim later on with the meltdown on Jay Tea just above here.
Amazing.
Tuckeegee Airmen? Meh.
Dennis, it might be worth noting that Jaim basically plagiarized an insult I heaped on jr the other day… although in his defense, I did first insult him by mistake and then corrected it.
Of course, the original insult was adapted from “Heathers…”
J.
J.G.Thayer: “As for my own opinion on the “mad coons” thing…
Yes, it’s a racist term.”
Excellent. That puts you a step up on Dennis the Bigot, who implied I only think its racist because of ‘White Guilt.’
I will ignore the rest of your post, because you said nothing else worthy of reading. Then again, you are a worthless piece of shit, so I’m not surprised.
J.G.Thayer: “Well, the acceptable orthodoxy seems to say that it’s fine to call a white person a monkey (see: George W. Bush), but a grand, horrid offense when applied to a black person.”
Wow! It’s almost as if the left is saying a term can be racist or not depending on the race of the person being described.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!
There’s no way that can be true, so the lefties here must be super-hypocrites!
You are a fucking idiot.
No wonder you were fired as a blogger.
Again, Strowbridge, you are lying. Check the tape. I told you twice I didn’t read the blog post, I only responded to you calling me out. I still haven’t read it, but I never specifically said anything in reference to the ‘coon’ word as it pertains to your white guilt. Your white guilt is apparent and it needs no further anecdotal evidence from me to make that determination.
Lying comes natural to you, doesn’t it? On a blog, who cares, right? That’s your credo.
Man, keeping up with Strowbridge’s string of lies is dizzying.
I will ignore the rest of your post, because you said nothing else worthy of reading. Then again, you are a worthless piece of shit, so I’m not surprised.
…and then he murders countless innocent pixels discussing “nothing else worthy of reading.”
And just to reinforce that you can’t take anything he says seriously, he repeats his fabrication that I was “fired” from blogging.
Note to self: bookmark those two comments for the next time (and is will surely arise) someone, anyone, needs to be shown just what a lying, worthless sack of shit Strowbridge is.
J.
Everyone knows you weren’t fired, Jay Tea, don’t let it bother you. Jaim pulls the same shit with me. Strowbridge is on record for having said he made it up as a joke. Doesn’t make him any less of a lying stack of shit, though.
Here it is for next time if you want to shut him up or embarrass the Canadian crap out of him. The only thing is he usually runs away after you’ve exposed him, so if holding him up so you can knock him down again for the fun of it is what you want, this probably won’t work for that.
Me: “Excellent. That puts you a step up on Dennis the Bigot, who implied I only think its racist because of ‘White Guilt.’”
Dennis the Bigot: “Again, Strowbridge, you are lying.”
Nope. The facts clearly back me up.
“Check the tape. I told you twice I didn’t read the blog post…”
Yet you are willing to comment on it. You are willing to say that I’m seeing racism where it doesn’t exist due to some form of ‘White Guilt.’
When I bring up this specific example, you still claim ‘White Guilt.’
“I only responded to you calling me out. I still haven’t read it…”
Then you need to shut the fuck up.
“…but I never specifically said anything in reference to the ‘coon’ word as it pertains to your white guilt.”
Except I stated the specific example a number of times in this thread, and you still claim I’m suffering from White Guilt and I’m seeing racism where it doesn’t exist.
“Your white guilt is apparent and it needs no further anecdotal evidence from me to make that determination.”
When someone uses the term, ‘mad coons’ and I call it racist, and you call it ‘White Guilt’, it shows that you are fucking racist piece of shit.
You can keep saying, ‘But I didn’t read the post in question!’ all you want. It doesn’t change the facts.
1.) Someone used the term ‘mad coons’.
2.) I called it racist.
3.) You said I suffered from ‘White Guilt.’
You are racist. It’s easy as 1.. 2.. 3..
Dennis and Jay: Two unemployed wing-nut assholes defending each other. I’m glad they’ve found happiness together. Surely they will turn around the GOP and make sure they aren’t slaughtered again in 2012.
J.G.Thayer: “Man, keeping up with Strowbridge’s string of lies is dizzying.”
Your definition of lying is… different. And very self-serving.
Me: “I will ignore the rest of your post, because you said nothing else worthy of reading. Then again, you are a worthless piece of shit, so I’m not surprised.”
J.G.Thayer: “…and then he murders countless innocent pixels discussing ‘nothing else worthy of reading.’”
It was 13 words. 57 characters.
That’s hardly ‘countless pixels’
One might even say you were lying.
“And just to reinforce that you can’t take anything he says seriously, he repeats his fabrication that I was ‘fired’ from blogging.”
Tee hee hee.
“Note to self: bookmark those two comments for the next time (and is will surely arise) someone, anyone, needs to be shown just what a lying, worthless sack of shit Strowbridge is.”
Please do.
Dennis the Bigot: “Everyone knows you weren’t fired, Jay Tea…”
I don’t think that’s true.
If you were to ask people if they thought J.G.Thayer was fired, I think a lot would say it was plausible, at the very least.
Personally, I think there’s a 30% chance he left his previous blog because he found a better opportunity. A 30% chance he left because the previous blog couldn’t pay him. A 30% chance he was fired. And a 10% chance something else happened.
“…don’t let it bother you.”
This is good advice. It’s clearly an immature joke on my part. Fucking hell, I usually type ‘Tee hee hee’ afterward. You can’t take it seriously, or you could cause yourself real harm.
And I mean that seriously, not in some concern troll kind of way.
“Jaim pulls the same shit with me.”
Really? How so?
“Strowbridge is on record for having said he made it up as a joke.”
Yes. Most jokes are made up. Louis C.K. has a great bit that uses that fact.
“Doesn’t make him any less of a lying stack of shit, though.”
Actually, by the very definition of the word, it does.
“Here it is for next time if you want to shut him up or embarrass the Canadian crap out of him.”
I have a serious question to ask you. Have I ever used the term, ‘American’ as an insult here?
I ask because you keep using the term, ‘Canadian’ as if it was an insult.
I’m not surprised; after all, you are a bigot, but I was wondering if I ever did the same to you and that’s why you attack my nationality.
Or do you do it because you simply can’t defeat my arguments?
“The only thing is he usually runs away after you’ve exposed him, so if holding him up so you can knock him down again for the fun of it is what you want, this probably won’t work for that.”
I run away? When has that ever happened?
On the other hand, do you know how many times you guys have run away from me in debates?
For example, Dennis the Bigot, do you know what the tenants of the Laffer Curve are?
Strowbridge, you said at 3:56 that you were going to ignore the rest of my prior comment. Then, at 3:59, you undecided it.
Consistency isn’t your strong point, is it?
Among many other things…
J.
Jaim: “Dennis and Jay: Two unemployed wing-nut assholes defending each other. I’m glad they’ve found happiness together. Surely they will turn around the GOP and make sure they aren’t slaughtered again in 2012.”
When we defend each other, Dennis the Bigot says we are weak and unable to stand up for ourselves.
I wonder what he thinks about him and J.G.Thayer agreeing with each other?
J.G.Thayer: “Strowbridge, you said at 3:56 that you were going to ignore the rest of my prior comment. Then, at 3:59, you undecided it.
Consistency isn’t your strong point, is it?
Among many other things…”
My post at 3:56 referred to your post at 10:17 am.
My post at 3:59 referred to your post at 12:41 pm.
Two different posts.
Jesus fucking Christ. Are you really this fucking stupid?
Don’t bother answering that question. It’s time for you to run away from this debate. You’ve done enough damage to your cause.
I think they see little “starbursts” when they gaze longlingly upon each other.
But really, get jobs guys. Good for you and your bank account.
Bullshit logic and you’re a f’ing lying piece of shit. I didn’t say you suffered from White Guilt because of the coon comment. That seems beyond your ability to grasp.
See if yuu can get anyone reasonable hear to back you up on your bullshit logic, your complete inability to admit you’re wrong. That’s the mark of a true coward, Strowbridge, owning up to your mistakes. You lied here, or you mistook what I said, because a day had passed and you forgot, and now you can’t admit it.
Find someone like Party or fafaroo or Quaker to back you. None of those ever seem to do that.
I don’t know about Jay Tea, but I’m happily married, CSS. Sounds like you and Jaim are hitting it off quite nicely, though. That’d be sweet if you two were able to hook up. Long way away from each other right now, but two guys with inferiority complexes and a bad case of the White Guilties, a lot in common would make for some cozy nights by the fire up in some log cabin in the Canadian wilderness.
Yeah, that’s why we both show up here at a left-wing blog where we’re outnumbered by about 4-1, Strowbridge.
Do you go to an conservative sites and spout off there about your Canadian citizenship and how Americans should live their lives. Let me know if you do, I’d like to witness the slaughter.
Shit, why don’t you and Jaim do a tag team thing at Hot Air or Ace of Spades.
Keep me posted, will ya?
I don’t use Canadian as an insult. You’re a Canadian prick. Not all Canadians are pricks. I don’t let that fact hamper in any way my opinion of Canadians. I’ve posted on aliberal blogs now for four years and met tons of Canadians, none even close as arrogant.
Do you have an inferiority complex about being Canadian or something?
You don’t use American as an insult but you insult an awful lot of people with special needs and mental problems when you call people ‘fucking retards’ like you do. You really have no room to call anybody retards.
Last sentence should be ‘no room to call anyone bigots’.
Jaim, like he’s doing above, thinks he’s being cute like you by telling me to get a job. Jiam I think forgets prior conversations where he and I discussed what profession I’m in and pretty much what I do. No he thinks its cute to say I work for a Taco Bell serving chalupas, never mind the racist overtones involved since he’s a liberal and liberals aren’t racist or bigoted. So the same shit I’m referring to is his copying you and your lie to Jay Tea that he was fired and trying to do the same thing to me.
You’re both two little kids who haven’t grown up yet. Both very lonely lost little boys.
Me:
“1.) Someone used the term ‘mad coons’.
2.) I called it racist.
3.) You said I suffered from ‘White Guilt.’
You are racist. It’s easy as 1.. 2.. 3..”
Dennis the Bigot: Bullshit logic and you’re a f’ing lying piece of shit.”
The word is ‘fucking’. Typing ‘f’ing’ doesn’t win you points for being polite, so just type out the full word.
“I didn’t say you suffered from White Guilt because of the coon comment.”
No. You said I only see racism because I suffer from White Guilt. Therefore, I think ‘mad coons’ isn’t a racist term, I only think that way because I’m suffering from ‘White Guilt’.
That little bit of logic seems beyond your ability to grasp.
Maybe you misspoke. Maybe you meant to say, ‘Sometimes there is real racism. Perhaps in this case there is. But you are too quick to call someone racist out of a case of ‘White Guilt’.’
But that’s not what you said.
In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you say, ‘Yes. This is clearly a case of real racism within the GOP and something should be done about it.’ Instead I think you’ve only ever gone on the attack and accused me of being obsessed with the Southern Strategy.
(By the way, it’s clear from this thread you have no fucking clue what the Southern Strategy refers to. No surprise there, as you tend to be ignorant about a lot of topics you have opinions on.)
“See if yuu can get anyone reasonable hear to back you up on your bullshit logic…”
I would love to hear your definition of the word, ‘reasonable’.
“Find someone like Party or fafaroo or Quaker to back you.”
Two people who haven’t posted in this thread. Might be hard to get their opinion. Let’s see what QiaB has to say.
1.) I call someone racist for using the term, ‘mad coons’.
2.) You say, and I’m quoting,
“Is oliverwillis.com the place where white guys go to lessen their white guilt by calling other people racists because they don’t think like you do.”
and…
“Exactly what is it about calling people racists on oliverwillis.com that turns you on so and makes you feel like you’re doing something to stop the Southern Strategy as you know it? It’s classic white guilt you have, Strowbridge. It makes you feel like you’ve done something to call people racists, even if it takes making crap up to do it. Something, anything to erase the guilt.”
3.) You are saying I’m calling people racist because of White Guilt, not because they are racist.
The only way you can be correct about #3, is if the term ‘mad coon’ is not racist.
When you screwed up and told called Colin here a fucking idiot for saying Cynthia Mckinney was a former Democrat Congresswoman. She was. Once I pointed out to you how you were wrong and the way Colin said it was absolutely correct, you bailed.
Another time you bailed was when I caught you being a complete moron and hypocrite for defending News Reference for his referring to Michael Savage as a neocon Jew when he printed his Jewish birht name. When I asked you how you could be so blatantly hypocritical and laid it out for you, you ran.
You either run or make up some bullshit non-sequitor as a way of muddying the waters when you’re caught in an obvious lie.
Dennis the Bigot: “I don’t use Canadian as an insult.”
Yes you do, you racist, lying, worthless piece of shit.
“Do you have an inferiority complex about being Canadian or something?”
Yeah. You aren’t calling me a Canadian as an insult. And this isn’t a Cavuto.
Dennis the Bigot: “Jaim pulls the same shit with me.”
Me: “Really? How so?”
Dennis the Bigot: “Jaim, like he’s doing above, thinks he’s being cute like you by telling me to get a job. Jiam I think forgets prior conversations where he and I discussed what profession I’m in and pretty much what I do. No he thinks its cute to say I work for a Taco Bell serving chalupas, never mind the racist overtones involved since he’s a liberal and liberals aren’t racist or bigoted.”
Interesting.
You attack Jaim and I repeatedly for our jobs, and when he asks about your job, you get really, really defensive.
And you blame Jaim for that.
Jaim makes fun of you for working a minimum wage job, and you call him racist because he picked Taco Bell as his example.
That’s some massive projection there, Dennis.
And it backs up my claims about you.
Go find someone to back you on this bullshit logic, Strowbridge. It’s f’ing ridiculous, you f’ing white guilt lying piece of excrement. You can say ‘therefore’ anything, but the ‘therefore’ doesn’t follow in this case because I didn’t say a f’ing word about the ‘mad coons’ term.
God, you are one thick-headed Canadian
You absolutely love to talk about racists. You love to call people raqcists. You LOVE it, Strowbridge. L. O. V. E. it. Love it, love it, love it.
And that is bizarre. Like no one else here. I don’t know who the posters that post here that are black and I don’t really care to know unless they talk about it, but you are by far the most obsessed poser her about race in America by a factor of at least five. Strange for someone who doesn’t even live here or who has never even visited the Southern US.
And again, you didn’t even bother to say a word on the Tuskeegee Airmen thread. Not controversial enough for you.
Cause he ain’t asking me because he’s a nice guy, or to because he’s particular interested in me, you douchebag. He’s just being a little neb-nose. He talks about his job all the time. He brags about shit he can’t back up. He’s as big a hypocrite as you in his own way. I feel absolutely no need or feel there’s any point in talking about my job. It’s not defensive at all. He’s just not to be trusted. And I don’t go around asking people what they do.
This isn’t a f’ing dating site, you know. I hope you do know that.
Me: “I run away? When has that ever happened?”
Dennis the Bigot: “When you screwed up and told called Colin here a fucking idiot for saying Cynthia Mckinney was a former Democrat Congresswoman. She was. Once I pointed out to you how you were wrong and the way Colin said it was absolutely correct, you bailed.”
Wow. You are so fucking retarded, I’m surprised you haven’t accidentally killed yourself… yet.
Here was my response to Colin…
“Umm… Former. Do you know what former means?”
I never claimed Cynthia Mckinney was not a former Democrat Congresswoman. I was emphasizing that she was a FORMER Democrat Congresswoman.
She was booted out of the party, so Colin couldn’t use her as an example of a Democratic Kook that was embraced by the party.
“When I asked you how you could be so blatantly hypocritical and laid it out for you, you ran.”
Two points.
1.) Weiner isn’t Jewish. It’s German. I should know, I’m the latter.
2.) I didn’t run away. My computer died.
On a side note, are you finally admitting you were being anti-Semitic when you brought up Jon Stewart’s birth name?
Dennis the Bigot: “Go find someone to back you on this bullshit logic, Strowbridge. It’s f’ing ridiculous, you f’ing white guilt lying piece of excrement.”
Any spittle hit your screen when you typed that?
How’s your blood pressure right now?
How’s your health in general?
Dennis the Bigot: “Cause he ain’t asking me because he’s a nice guy, or to because he’s particular interested in me, you douchebag.”
I know that, you fucking idiot.
He’s asking to point out what a fucking hypocritical piece of shit you are.
It’s the same reason I asked the above three questions.
So… Dennis the Bigot, where do you work?
What are the tenets of the Laffer Curve?
Or are you going to run away, again?
Not at all. But if you wail for five months about Jon Stewart, with no mention of his being Jewish by me, nor any hint of anti-Semitism in any regard, not even a mention by me of anything related to Israel, and then defend News Reference for his blatant anti-Semitism, especially when he’s knocked neo-con Jews countless times when he’s blasted Jay Tea and the Commentary authors, you are being a hypocrite.
There is absolutely no way you can square the two.
Excellent and excellent. Why do you ask so many personal questions?
Are you that lonely?
You do look at this as a place to cruise, don’t you?
I work just south of the downtown area.
You look up all you want to know about the Laffer curve. I told OW that kids out of college don’t go into business because of anything to do with the Laffer curve. It’s not something that’s on thier radar screen as a motivational tool. I think I recall that he had a differing opinion than that.
Well, I’m about to relax and watch Sean Hannity and Greta and then call it a night. Is that a pass you’re making at me or something? You’d like me to stay and chat a while, is that it?
Really nothing to do there in Abbotsford for you?
And I showed you and linked to where she WAS embraced by the party. She was a Congresswoman. Lost. Then came back. Then lost again when mainly Republicans in Georgia voted against her in her primary, which in GA they are allowed to do, so she joined the Green party and ran for President. So she was a former congresswoman who most definitely was embraced by the party. She was not booted out. That was shown to you in black and white, and you bailed. And it wasn’t because of your computer. It was because you were wrong. No big deal to be wrong, but it is when you started off by calling Colin a fucking idiot.
Dennis the Bigot: “…especially when he’s knocked neo-con Jews countless times…”
He attacks Neo-cons for their politics, you see it as him attacking neo-con JEWS. More proof that you are anti-Semitic.
Dennis the Bigot: “Weiner is Jewish.”
No it isn’t.
The name Weiner isn’t Jewish.
surnames.behindthename.com/php/search.php?terms=Weiner&type=n&operator=or
And that site will say if a name is German, Jewish, or German and Jewish.
Dennis the Bigot: “Then lost again when mainly Republicans in Georgia voted against her in her primary…”
Prove it.
Prove the Republicans voted her out of the Democratic party.
She outed herself as a kook. She was marginalized. And then voted out in the Democratic primary.
Those are the facts.
Dennis the Bigot: “Really nothing to do there in Abbotsford for you?”
Oh god no!
Last I heard, there are more churches per capita in Abbotsford than in any other city in Canada.
It’s too religious and way too conservative for my liking.
Dennis the Bigot: “Why do you ask so many personal questions?”
Says the man who asked about my nightlife. Is hypocrisy a competitive sport for you?
“Are you that lonely?
You do look at this as a place to cruise, don’t you?”
Are you trying to imply that I’m gay? I would hate to find out you are homophobic as well as sexist, anti-Semitic, racist, nationalistic.
Wow. I knew Dennis had lots of mental breakdowns, but this is like a 72-hour extended one.
Good times. Thanks for providing all the amusement, Dennis. Tell your wife I said hello.
If you are, you are, I don’t much care. I’m not afraid or against it. I’m pretty much indifferent. As to your being an arrogant asswipe, that’s a different matter.
That site is crap, Strowbridge. Weiner Savage is Jewish. I listed several people with the same name who were Jewish, and someone on that very thread mentioned just above News Ref’s rant that he was in fact, Jewish, so News Ref was lying when he claimed ignorance. Doesn’t hide the fact that you were being your typical hypocrite for defending him. That and you never mentioned German or Jewish then at all, only now.
And that site didn’t list Leobowitz as Jewish. Funny you didn’t look that one up, as obsessed with cross-examination as you were.
I’d prefer not to, Jaim. If I told her your background and that you went to Sidwell (she went to Wooten) and couldn’t find a job in the United States, she’d start laughing. Not that I don’t mind her laughing, it’s just that she’d think I was crazy for blogging with such a slacker and ask why I’d waste the time on you.
What’s Wooten? Never heard of it.
And trolling another person’s blog isn’t blogging, dumbass.
Get a job, loser.
Sorry, it’s Wootton. It’s a public school in Rockville. You probably never had much to do with the public schools.
Find a nice girl or guy and move back here and start a family and get a job and start contributing to the greatness of America, Jaim.
It’s time to start growing up. You’re past 30. Make some money and then see the world the right way.
Hi. Is this the insult swap?
I have two “chuckleheads” I’m willing to trade for one “wooly booger.”
An unemployed guy who can’t spell keeps telling me to get a job. Strange.
Don’t worry Dennis, I’ll come back home eventually. Unlike you I don’t live in fear of non-white people. I can speak other languages. I enjoy experiencing other cultures and learning about the world around me.
I’m pretty much the opposite of what Republicans stand for. I’m pretty much an ideal American, unlike ignorant bed-wetters like yourself.
LOL,
What the hell has been going on in my absense? We have 2 out of the 3 certifiable nutcases here running amuck.
First our American obsessed Canadian friend, let me assure you I use the term Canadian in a derogatory sense. A country full of sheep not bold enough to pull away from the Brits. You can see the results of this meekness throughout history. A few cities clustering near the border with vast underexploited backwaters. Lacking the ability to project power on a global scale Canada huddles under our defense umbrella. A first world nation with third world cababilities.
So we are stuck with CS. another example of futile impotent Canadian political rage. Running off at the mouth and making damn little sense. I see your finest contributions here on a blog regarding American politics are little gems like “you fucking retard, you fucking piece of shit, etc. ” Brilliant observations, truly a rapier like mind, slashing and cutting through your opponents logic, leaving him without a leg to stand on…in your own cramped feverish little mind.
I am amazed that you might have a grasp of supply side economics. Did someone slip you some economic educational dvds into your weekly review? Perhaps you could flesh out some of the finer points of Art Laffer’s famous cocktail napkin for us? Show us what you got CS.
And then we have Jaim, the manboy living in economic exile trying to insult grown men about being unemployed. Son, you’re living in a glass house. You have obviously been educated far past your abilities.
It is with malicious glee I bring to your attention that teaching is the fall back degree of those who can’t hack anything else. Teaching is an art. Women with fine minds went into teaching being denied other opportunities. When women had fewer choices economically teaching was a good way for a gal to make her way in the world. Now those women have many more options and the quality of teachers is much poorer as a result. Grading on a curve is no longer the norm and grades have steadily risen. Yet this feel good grade inflation has had an interesting corollary as one line on the graph has grades going steadily up, the other graphing SAT scores is declining. Nation wide, alarmed parents are demanding that their students pass minimum tests to prove profiency instead of just having a worthless high school diploma that means nothing. Home schooling once a fringe outliar is increasingly more common. Those homeschooled kids have done quite well against their publicly schooled peers in college testing. Colleges across the country have had to introduce remedial classes for students admitted that are unable to do first year college level work.
It is against this backdrop that we can examine your abilities. The evidence from your blogging comments alone show you basically unfit to teach. Intolerant, naive, a small mind closed to the facts around you that petulently snaps back mindless insults rather than adding anything intelligent to the conversations you engage in. Woefully ignorant of history and blind to the lessons of the past. As you lash out at grown men who have earned a living far longer than you with your childish fabrications please remember where you are and why you are there. You could not keep yourself in gainful employment here in the States. By your own words you have admitted you were going to take the job in Korea, that you really didn’t have a choice.
My boy taught in China as an adventure when he got out of the service the first time. He looked into it and went to several interviews here in the states. I have a pretty good idea what the standards are. He picked China because he thought China represented a better place to get connected. After the novelty wore off and he wanted to make more money he quit his teaching job and set up a private tutoring service for much more money.
I have teachers in my family going back over 100 years. College professors mainly, although my mother taught high school for several years as did her mother before going the university route. So I know a bit about the teaching game. Just to keep it on a personal level, You’re basically a failure Jaim.
An ignorant old fart who hates teachers.
Who woulda thunk it?
Really, for an elderly moron like yourself to resent teachers is kind of pot meets kettle, no? You feel the same way about teachers as you feel about blacks, Jews, hispanics, and women. You make this painfully clear every time you post.
But please, let’s keep talking about me instead of the inherent racism of the GOP. Because all you and your dead party can do these days is try and divert attention.
Your son would have made more in Korea or Japan, by the way. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, is he? Granted, look at the genome he had to deal with.
Me: “Are you trying to imply that I’m gay? I would hate to find out you are homophobic as well as sexist, anti-Semitic, racist, nationalistic.”
Dennis the Bigot: “If you are, you are, I don’t much care. I’m not afraid or against it. I’m pretty much indifferent.”
If you imply someone is gay as an insult, it is homophobic. It doesn’t matter if they are gay or not.
Dennis the Bigot: “That site is crap, Strowbridge.”
There you go. Dennis the Bigot has declared a Etymology site to be crap because he doesn’t back him up.
“Weiner Savage is Jewish.”
It’s Michael Savage or Michael Alan Weiner. It is not Weiner Savage. Although Weiner Savage is a lot funnier. Almost as funny as Savage Weiner.
And yes, he is Jewish. His name is not. You can be Jewish and not have a Jewish name. You can have a Jewish name and not be Jewish.
And it is his name. His name is Michael Alan Weiner, not Michael Savage. Savage is just his stage name. Jon Stewart legally changed his name.
“And that site didn’t list Leobowitz as Jewish. Funny you didn’t look that one up, as obsessed with cross-examination as you were.”
I did look it up. It doesn’t mention that name at all. Could not find it in several etymology sites. Very strange.
And this doesn’t change the fact that you are the one equating Neo Cons and Jews.
Dennis the Bigot: “…especially when he’s knocked neo-con Jews countless times…”
George W. Bush is a Neo Con. Is he Jewish? Donald Rumsfeld is a Neo Con. Is he Jewish? John Ashcroft is a Neo Con. Is he Jewish?
Being a Neo Con has nothing to do with being Jewish.
Nothing.
Jaim “Wow. I knew Dennis had lots of mental breakdowns, but this is like a 72-hour extended one.”
Is this better than when J.G.Thayer threatened to sue me?
AO: “What the hell has been going on in my absense? We have 2 out of the 3 certifiable nutcases here running amuck.”
Wow. You must have had a lot of spittle hit the screen typing that.
Is your blood pressure okay?
About to have a heart attack, are you?
“First our American obsessed Canadian friend, let me assure you I use the term Canadian in a derogatory sense.”
At least you are brave / stupid enough to admit you are a bigot.
But we knew that already.
No wonder you are such an advent supporter of the GOP.
I won’t bother reading the rest. Odds are there’s nothing of interest there.
Jaim: “Really, for an elderly moron like yourself to resent teachers is kind of pot meets kettle, no? You feel the same way about teachers as you feel about blacks, Jews, hispanics, and women. You make this painfully clear every time you post.”
… You forgot Canadians.
LOL Jaim,
Your ignorance is staggering. My boy went to China for the adventure and because he felt China was the next center of world and economic power. He had many adventures and experiences. Everyone wants to hang out with a tall blonde round eye. Besides teaching and tutoring he had several bit parts in movies. His crowning moment of glory in the movie business was as a nazi general with about a 5 minute scene in which the dastardly nazi chases the femme fatale star of the movie before she outwits him. But I disgress. He came back as an interpretor for a chinese clothing manufactorer. He traveled around the states buying up residential real estate and mostly renting retail space for the chinese to market their clothing directly to America. Upon completing his contract with the chinese he rejoined the service to go to Iraq and set up modern water infrastructure.
I don’t resent teachers Jaim, I’m just aware of their limitations. You’re pulling facts out of your ass again with your statements about jews and women etc.
I am a stickler for the Constitution however. Minorities who undermine and erode the 14th Amendment with the help of guilt tripping liberals are regularily called on their hypocrisy.
Sure the GOP has some racists in it, and far too many with a tin ear. But if you think the rank and file of the Democrats are racist free you certainly haven’t paid much attention. The official plank of the Democrat party endorsing the erosion of the 14th Amendment to curry the votes of minorities says one thing as does the attempts to allow illegals to get the means to vote. Yet the images and words used on conservative blacks shows racism as clearly as the old Democrat dominated KKK once did.
People tend to favor their own. That’s human nature and you will find it at least as strongly in the black community as anywhere else. So save your limp moralizing for someone willing to buy your bullshit.
“His crowning moment of glory in the movie business was as a nazi general”
Jesus, you don’t even realize that you’re a parody of yourself, do you?
Indeed AO, people like me move abroad not just to teach, but also to have new experiences and to improve ourselves professionally. It’s as if — oh my god — life is kind of complicated like that! And people make decisions based on more than one factor!
But you really have a problem with the fact that I’m happy in my work and personal life here in Korea. Not sure why that is, but hey, you’re a cranky old dumbass and a racist weirdo to boot.
Nice chatting with you as always. Have fun “disgressing.” Maybe you could ask your son for some help with your own English. Or maybe it’s just the Alzheimers. Either way, don’t forget your meds.
Hahahaa!
Jaim, the ideal American. Maybe if every little failure of an American who couldn’t find jobs in the US moved to Korea, I might concede that was an ideal situation for them.
Ideal Americans, though? Not hardly.
Dennis the Bigot: “Ideal Americans, though? Not hardly.”
He’s a better American than you’ll ever be.
You are a bigoted, ignorant, irrational, and emotionally unstable piece of shit.
You’ve shown that to everyone in this thread alone.
I’d love to see what you’ll do for an encore.
I’m thinking threats of violence. Something actionable. Something the Secret Service get calls about.
No, he’s not, Strowbridge. When the going got tough for him, he bailed. He helps no Americans. He only mocks a large percentage of them, arrogantly and ignorantly so. You and he share that characteristic.
Like you, he contributes next to nothing to our economy. He contributes nothing to our communities. He is responsible for no one but himself and his own self-gratification. Yet he ridicules people who are working and contributing here. He ridicules people who aren’t working, even.
No way is that an ideal American. You’re not even an American citizen so I don’t really give a shit what you think an ideal American should be.
Of course you’re going to say Jaim is more ideal. He’s just like you in so many ways. The ideal American to you is someone who hates half the country’s population.
‘Find someone like Party or fafaroo or Quaker to back you. None of those ever seem to do that.’
Because they don’t have to.
‘…Are you trying to imply that I’m gay? I would hate to find out you are homophobic as well as sexist, anti-Semitic, racist, nationalistic.
If you are, you are, I don’t much care. ‘
They WHY do you keep implying it?
You back his f’ed up logic, then jrfunkenstein.
Go ahead, let’s have an honest debate, unlike the way he does.
Start with his premise above that 1) and 2) are correct, “therefore” 3) (his argument) must be correct.
You’re wrong there, jrfunk. Those two just don’t want to be associated with his insanity.
What do you mean? If Strowbridge is gay, I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t even care if he wants to get married to another man there in Canada. I just don’t particularly care for his advances or whatever you would call his persistent pleas for my personal information. Same if I was working next to him in an office. His sexuality is his business, but I wouldn’t welcome any advances by him. What the hell is wrong with that, jrfunk? Is that un-PC position for people in Canada or something.
Jaim,
You may the most foolish remarks based on very little critical thought. I couldn’t care less personally why you are in Korea. I have as I have stated before been to your blog 3 times over widely space intervals. In my first time over there you were lamenting your options and had resigned yourself to the Korea gig. I thought little of it. Seeing your personality unfold over time here and reading your remarks I realized your level of
education was exceeded by your ignorance and your arrogence. Not really that uncommon these days since the decades long dunbing down of education has taken it’s toll.
You can put the best face on your exile in Korea you want. I’m sure you have come up with a way to rationalize it to yourself. But you’re lying about your original motivation. When I see you hassle other people over their state of employment I’m just going to have to point out that you were unable to maintain satifactory employment here in the states when times were relatively good. Your level of maturity is obvious for anyone to see and your narrow viewpoint and temperment make you unsuited for most kinds of educational employment. I’m sure a transcript of your illogical and rude ravings stapled to your resume would do wonders for your job efforts.
JR Funk: “They WHY do you keep implying it?”
Dennis the Bigot: “What do you mean?”
Are you really that stupid?
Well, racism and stupidity do go hand in hand, so you probably are that stupid.
It’s a seven-word sentence. A whole none syllables.
Even an idiot can understand it without it being explained to you.
Since you can’t…
You are implying I am gay as an insult. That makes you homophobic. Your pleas that you ‘don’t care’ about my sexuality are directly contradicted by the fact that you think there is something wrong with being gay.
If you didn’t think there was something wrong with being gay, you wouldn’t imply I was gay as an insult.
Do you get it now?
I asked jrfunkenstein whathe meant, Southern Strategy, not you.
Why do you pretend you’re the voice for other people?
If you took what I said as a slur against gays then it only means you must think there is something wrong about being gay.
What you are doing is called projection, and this is a classic case.
If you didn’t think there was something wrong with being guy, you wouldn’t take what I said as an insult.
Are you really that stupid? I guess bigotry and stupidity do go hand in hand, so you probably are that stupid.
Projection explains why you come to this blog to call other people racists, Southern Strategy.
AO: “Seeing your personality unfold over time here and reading your remarks I realized your level of education was exceeded by your ignorance and your arrogence.”
Projection raised to the level of an Olympic sport.
Given your… recent mental instability shown here, which rivaled by Dennis the Bigot’s racist outbursts, and J.G.Thayer’s threats of litigation, I can’t imagine you will be posting on this site much longer.
You are already posting almost not legitimate arguments and sticking solely with personal attacks, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by our host.
I figure you are only a few months away from threats of violence.
For your sake, I hope you merely threaten someone here and Oliver is forced to ban you for life.
The other options are…
1.) You threaten Obama or some other elected official and the Secret Service comes knocking at your door.
2.) You carry out an act of violence, either against yourself or others.
Or perhaps 3.) You drink yourself to death.
Dennis the Bigot: “If you took what I said as a slur against gays then it only means you must think there is something wrong about being gay.”
Ha ha ha ha aha ha!
If that was true, then you could explain what you meant, and how what you said could be interpreted in a non-insulting way.
Go for it.
Try and explain it away.
I would love to hear another of your lies, you prejudiced piece of shit.
“What you are doing is called projection, and this is a classic case.”
Why is it you find reason to blame others what you are guilty of?
I’m sure our host would never notice that that’s all you do here.
This is the most classic case of all of projection for you.
Some little sick puppy has been watching too many videos.
Christ, Strowbridge, just go out for a walk or something.
It’s like you watched Leaving Las Vegas this afternoon and you couldn’t wait till after you’d written a review to get on here and say that.
Sick puppy.
My quote:
Both men and women post here.
Now you tell me how it is homophobic, you prejudiced piece of shit.
And while you’re at it, since you conveniently never closed the loop in all your cross-examinations, why is it that you hypocritically defend News Ref’s use of Michael Savage’s birth name on the grounds that Weiner is German, and doesn’t mean it has to be Jewish, when before I told you the same thing about Leibowitz, that it didn’t mean anyone with that surname was Jewish, you scoffed at it, and persisted with your now 5 month obsessed harangue.
Piece of shit. Lie your way out of that one.
So what’s the deal with “Dennis?”
He claims to have earned a good living via commissions, which implies a sales job. Every successful salesmen I’ve ever known, was in the temperamental range from psychologically astute con man, to people skilled people lover. But Dennis has the people skills of leprosy – he couldn’t sell Sarah Palin to a drunken Eskimo. If it’s one-upmanship he craves, why here? Sometimes attorneys fees are known as “commissions”, but every attorney I’ve ever met online has claimed to be such. Why be obsessed with insulting visitors at a website owned by a guy half his age?
So the question (amongst all the others) is why does Dennis spend all his time (all hours of the day, according to his comments time stamp) here?
Shouldn’t a ’successful’ salesman/lawyer retiree be out RV-ing with his “supportive wife”, helping his church build its school, or teaching his great nephew golf?
I don’t get the feeling he’s setting us up to buy Jesus.
AO writes “Not really that uncommon these days since the decades long dunbing [sic] down of education has taken it’s toll.”
You really need to take some remedial courses in English before you talking about the “dunbing” down of America. I teach ESL to kids who have a higher mastery of the language than you do.
Again, not really sure why you resent my working abroad so much. Maybe it’s because I’m having such a good time and learning so much. It’s definitely not a situation you could ever hack. So please, continue to read my blog and make your comments over there if you wish. It’s getting pretty tedious to have to explain simple things to you like a) Living and working abroad has been a great experience and I highly recommend it and b) Getting away from America for a bit has actually made me grateful for certain that I took for granted while there.
Like I said, I’m doing exactly what your son did for various reasons. Yet somehow you resent what I’m doing. Very strange and kind of “dunb” if you ask me.
Dennis is so proud of his job that he won’t tell us what he does for a living. However, he obsessively talks about what others do. Then he whines and shits his diapers when people bring up the fact that he’s ashamed of his job.
Wing-nut hypocrisy. Gotta love it.
before you talking about”???
You teach English??? What a dumbshit.
Thank God you’re not polluting American kids with that kind of English.
I’ve told you what I do before, Jaim. I went back and found the conversation. You just don’t have much of a memory.
AO is right about yuou, Jaim. Educated far beyond your intelligence level. A failure.
No wonder you bailed and no wonder you have the inferiority complex you do.
You’re not a happy person.
No Dennis, I don’t obsess over you they way you do over me. I frankly don’t give two shits about your sad, pathetic professional and married life, but you constantly try to bring up mine. So if you’re going to dish it out, be prepared to take it. Although I would prefer if you’d confine personal attacks to my blog that you enjoy reading so much.
I’m pretty happy these days, thank you very much. One of the perks, although certainly not the best one, is that there are far fewer ignorant American fuckwits like yourself over here (although they can still be found), mostly getting fired from their jobs for ignorance and incompetence.
Seriously, try seeing another part of the world some time. It’s invigorating for the mind and soul. You’d have to confront your inherent bigotry in dealing with people that don’t look like you, but it’s pretty clear this is a problem you need to deal with.
Me: “You are already posting almost not legitimate arguments and sticking solely with personal attacks, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by our host.”
Dennis the Bigot: “I’m sure our host would never notice that that’s all you do here.”
Have I ever insulted you for being American? How many times has AO insulted me for being Canadian? He has admitted to doing that.
By the way, when I insult people, I also insult their argument.
You make fun of people by attacking where they live, for instance. What they do for a living. You make up psychological diagnoses. Etc.
“This is the most classic case of all of projection for you.”
Considering you think I’m a ranting lunatic that has to clean the spittle off my screen when I type, your opinion of my mental state means nothing. It means less than nothing.
If you say it, the opposite is more likely to be true.
“Christ, Strowbridge, just go out for a walk or something.”
Projection. I have a life. Do you?
Do you have a job?
“It’s like you watched Leaving Las Vegas this afternoon and you couldn’t wait till after you’d written a review to get on here and say that.”
Never seen the movie. Don’t get the connection you are trying to make.
