CSS – fair point. When Dennis Miller started out he was basically a Taibbi-style ‘go after everybody equally’ type. Right after Bush was elected he did an HBO Special that – I think – was his crazy unveiling.
Even before 9/11, so he didn’t have the Ron Silver excuse.
My cousin and I were talking about Beck yesterday, wondering about when exactly he loses his credibility. When America doesn’t turn socialist and there are never FEMA camps and Obama doesn’t nationalise the media or whatever else he thinks will happen, when people’s lives don’t actually go in the toilet like he seems to keep implying will happen, will people tune out the doomsday preacher? Or does he keep it vague enough that it will always be just around the corner?
