I occasionally read something about Mr. Liefeld online,
and it’s never adulatory. Does anyone have a good opinion
of him – besides him, that is?

The comics world has had a number of gay characters already. Alpha Flight’s Northstar comes to mind. Maybe the “star” in your name is an early indicator.

Randy – I haven’t liked everything Marvel has done, but it’s ridiculous to say that everything they’ve touched has turned to “schidt.” The Iron Man movie alone pops your hyperbole. And in this case, Marvel’s taken a character who was barely interesting as created by Liefeld and given him new dimensions.

That’s PAD all over. He didn’t do it to piss off Liefield. PAD is a professional. He did it because it fit the story he’s telling.

Pissing off Liefield was just a fringe benefit.

Shatterstar? Yeesh, talk about bottom of the comic book barrel.

Probably shouldn’t try and invent an iconic hero whose name begins with “shat.”
