You’re right; they ARE the future GOP poster family.

Big difference between the two, jrfunkenstein.

How are they a dysfunctional family?

Pretty simple question. You can even skip the Texas Chainsaw Massacre qualifier if you want to. Just tell me how you think they are dysfunctional.

'You have been helpful from time to time, and for that we are grateful. '

People like you certainly are not.

'Luckily for your country we are not a vindictive nation.'

I'm sure Iraqis everywhere feel the same way.

True, Quaker is a selective hairsplitter but he doesn’t profess to be a non partisan.

Good points, all. I just thought that even being a non-partisan and a hairsplitter, that when the whoppers get thrown out from his side he might feel at least the occasional responsibility to say something for the good of the team's reputation.

Of coarse Jr.Funks statements are bullshit, he has an almost unbroken streak in that regard. And even Quaker couldn't possibly keep up with Jaim. True, Quaker is a selective hairsplitter but he doesn't profess to be a non partisan.

Jr.Funk,

Quite proud of the country, than you. Your statement regarding this nation as being built by piracy are false. Perhaps it is nuts to try and find glory in Canada's past. You have been helpful from time to time, and for that we are grateful. 1812 was not one of those times. You were on the wrong side of history on that one. Luckily for your country we are not a vindictive nation.

Someone running for VP who can’t name a SINGLE newspaper she reads and has the most dysfunctional family this side of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre can really use your support.

Just HOW is her family the most dysfunctional family this sid of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, jrfunkentstein?

Certainly that kind of a descriptive you could come up with more than a teenage pregnancy, which doesn't necessarily make a family dysfunctional. really, what are you talking about? Was your family less 'dysfunctional' than hers, so much that you consider hers a freak show?

That's a bullshit comment, jrfunk.

Quaker,
It was a dandy way to quickly create and mobilize an effective means of projecting naval force globaly for a young country without a large standing navy. It takes time and treasure to build a navy. We had insufficient amounts of either.

England was trampling upon our liberty and would have continued to do so if unopposed. Appeasement seldom solves anything as history has shown us time and time again.

You are making up facts when you infer that privateers in the war of 1812 were pirates. After posting a bond enterprising patriots were issued a license to act as a free ranging instrument of American policy on a global basis.

As a pacifist you may find the idea of actually standing up for freedom and liberty as less then "honorable". We are fortunate that historically attitudes like that have been in the minority.

She’s also a quitter. And she lives in a multi-million dollar home that is far from “normal.” And she stole over 200K dollars worth of clothing from the RNC and hasn’t paid for it yet. Normal people don’t do this.
---Jaim

Jaim, can you back either of those two charges up? Multi-million dollar home?

Stole the clothes and hasn't paid for them?

Quaker in a Basement, can you back these up, since you've posted after Jaim has without mentioning them. You never let minute points that may be incorrect slide when a conservative does it, such as Monica Lewinsky not technically being an intern at the time of her banging by the President. But these two are unbelievably inaccurate, so much that I'm sure you knew it when you read it. It's not your responsibility to correct mistakes, but you're very quick to do so when a conservative does it just on a technicality.

'It was our great fortune to harness the power of private enterprise. That was our ace in the hole. Our sailors and fishermen got rich seizing British ships around the world.'

yep Funk,
If you keep going back in history you'll find Canada's glory. 1812, we were just a fledgling then. The Brits kept kidnapping our sailors and we called bullshit. We had a few wins and a few losses early on. The Brits burned DC and then we dug in our heels and defeated them. We got a song out of the deal, maybe you've heard it. We play it mostly before ballgames.

Then our Navy destroyed the Brit fleet and the Redcoats retreated deep into your country. But the battle on the sea wasn't only on the lakes. Our Navy wasn't much but a couple guys did well. You ever hear of man named John Paul Jones? He was a ballsy charactor, full of fight.

It was our great fortune to harness the power of private enterprise. That was our ace in the hole. Our sailors and fishermen got rich seizing British ships around the world.

The Brits gave up their agressive ways and both sides retired to Europe to work out a peace treaty. Communications being what they were, the word didn't get to Andy Jackson. He went down the Missippi and killed Redcoats till the rifle barrels turned red. The war was over by then but we didn't know. We killed them anyhow. Britain never did a damn thing about it. We got a song out of that one too.

Britain finally put the squeeze on Napolean and we bought up the French holdings on the cheap. But that's another story.

So what else did you want to discuss about the War of 1812? The Canucks were bit players but at least they escaped death in New Orleans.

We play it mostly before ballgames.

Then our Navy destroyed the Brit fleet and the Redcoats retreated deep into your country. But the battle on the sea wasn’t only on the lakes. Our Navy wasn’t much but a couple guys did well.

Communications being what they were, the word didn’t get to Andy Jackson. He went down the Missippi and killed Redcoats till the rifle barrels turned red. The war was over by then but we didn’t know. We killed them anyhow. Britain never did a damn thing about it. We got a song out of that one too.

Britain finally put the squeeze on Napolean and we bought up the French holdings on the cheap. But that’s another story.

So what else did you want to discuss about the War of 1812? The Canucks were bit players but at least they escaped death in New Orleans.
