  1. Meh; never one of my favorite characters, but it couldn’t suck worse than some other comic-film efforts.

Looks awesome…my geek-o-meter is pinging way over, so I will definitely see this.

I’ve always liked Green Lantern. The idea of being able to make your imagination take shape is a great fantasy… as is the idea that, with enough determination, nothing is impossible.

Yeah, maybe it’s a bad idea to run your politics under that theory… but there are worse ways to live your life.

Of course, reality’s not that kind. It doesn’t matter how much you try sometimes.

Or maybe I just need to stop being afraid of the color yellow.

At first, I thought the power-ring-manifested folding chair was over the top.

And then I saw the first comment from “Newsy.”

If anyone ever had the slightest doubt that “Newsy” is a worthless, humorless, clueless, lifeless (as in “needs to get a life”) git, this oughta cure them of it.

Could someone PLEASE drop a giant green glowing anvil on him/her/it?

    J.

  5. Right winger “Jay Tea”: “Could someone PLEASE drop a giant green glowing anvil on him/her/it? “

“Jay Tea” needs someone else to do it for him because his weak will couldn’t get the Green Lantern Ring to work.

  6. Jay Tea says:

    “Newsy’s” Oath:

    “On others’ blogs,
    ‘Cuz mine’s a fright,
Let no clue encroach my sight.
Let those who grasp Reason’s might
Beware my forte’ — a ‘scare quote’ fight!”

(He/she/it chants this while pressing his tongue to a glowing green urinal…)

I must be getting old because the origin of the Green Lantern shown in this trailer does not jibe at all with the origin story I read in the Green Lantern comic books I bought between 1960 to 1962.

I’ve had it on pre-order from amazon for months. Can’t wait!
