The Hate Chain

For some time now, as John Lewis noted, the right has done a good job of whipping up hatred and animosity in order to profit from it politically. The problem is, the hate is now consuming the right and spilling blood into the streets. And the right has no intention of pushing back on it. In fact, they’re accelerating it.

And John Lewis has more experience than most in seeing this hate up close.

Ann Coulter talks about George Soros collaborating with nazi’s and Jews needing to be perfected and then the cons go “how can you blame us for this”

  2. OW:
At what point does either the Gov’t or their advertisers need to tell people like BillO or Boss Limbaugh to stop the hate speech or be forced off the air?

  3. Robert says:

Over at Michelle “Anchor Baby” Malkin’s site, her commenters are chiming in about how Neo-Nazis are liberals.
    Delightful.

  4. PD100 says:

CJ, leave the Govenment out of it.

  5. I'm a Hick says:

“At what point does either the Gov’t or their advertisers need to tell people like BillO or Boss Limbaugh to stop the hate speech or be forced off the air?”

I guess if you can show they constitute a ‘clear and present danger’.

  6. Right wing extremist Michelle “Concentration Camp Advocate” Malkin’s best friends are Neo-Nazis so you think she would know better.

  7. Dennis says:

    A Tale of Two Murders

Which received more front-page headlines, statements of outrage, condemnation, sympathy, and resulted in apologetic genuflecting: the murder of a 67-year-old man who made his living as a late-term abortionist or the murder and wounding of two young military recruiters on duty?

What do mainstream media and liberal bloggers find more newsworthy: a white, anti-government, schizophrenic “Christian” who murdered the notorious Dr. George Tiller or a black, America-hating, anti-military Muslim who murdered William Long, a young soldier?……

    Read the whole thing.

  8. Ol' Dutch says:

For some time now, as John Lewis noted, the right has done a good job of whipping up hatred and animosity in order to profit from it politically.

I still believe in States’ Rights!

  9. Lashawn Barber writes stupid screed, news at 11. Convenient black strikes again.
Nobody on the mainstream left advocates hurting or killing soldiers. The mainstream right shares many of the same views of Dr. Tiller’s murderer and the Holocaust Museum shooter.

  10. Duros62 says:

Oh, Dennis, who fucking cares who got more ink? They’re both dead because of hate, all right?

You’re wasting your time and ours. Especially by going all glenn Reynolds spambot on us.

  11. Dennis' Ilk says:

Totally unrelated. Nothing to see here. Just good patriots plying their goods:

You too can show your tasteful patriotism for only $1.50 (U.S. Dollars only!).

  12. matt621 says:

Oh, look, there goes Oliver with the black-on-black hate again.

You’re usually much more subtle with your hate, sheep.

Try to be more like your feminist pals like Elizabeth Edwards, attacking her husband’s critics while she knew he was sleeping with Rielle Hunter. There’s an empowered woman for you.

Or try to be like NOW, which loves to attack Don Imus for making a remark about the Rutgers basketball team, but stands silently by while Letterman advocates teen rape of Sarah Palin’s daughter, and likens her to a whore.

See, it’s not about hate. It’s about “acceptable” hate.

IT’s why you get free rein to hate that fat drug addict Al Gore III, but not Rush Limbaugh.

Oh, did I mix those up? Sorry.

That’s where liberals hold the advantage. You’re just as hateful as you say conservatives are, but the Vision of the Anointed allows you a better, more accepted class of hate.

    Don’t believe me?

Let’s pay attention to the responses that follow. Hateful liberal invective follows truth here like inflation after a Democrat’s recovery plan.

  13. Duros62 says:

“A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE: The declassified DHS report warned, “Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.” The report further warned, “The economic downturn and the election of the first African American president present unique drivers for rightwing radicalization and recruitment.” This description reflected recent extremist violence, including the July 2008 shooting spree in a Knoxville church “because of its liberal teachings,” a thwarted attempt to assassinate Obama in October by two neo-Nazi skinheads, and “a racially motivated rape and murder spree in Brockton, MA” by a 22-year-old white supremacist the “day after Barack Obama was inaugurated.” Since the report was issued last April, the trail of death has continued. “We have seen not only the murder of an abortion physician by a member of the radical right, but the murders of five law enforcement officers — three police officers in Pittsburgh, two sheriff’s deputies in Florida by radical right-wing extremists,” SPLC’s Mark Potok told CNN. “It’s really been quite an extraordinary period.” The Pittsburgh shooter “feared the Obama administration was poised to ban guns,” and the Florida killer was “severely disturbed that Barack Obama had been elected President.” In an incident earlier this month, a “lone wolf” American Muslim extremist “shot and killed Army Pvt. William Long” outside a Little Rock, AR, mall in anger over the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.”

  14. SaveFarris says:

Nobody on the mainstream left advocates hurting or killing soldiers. The mainstream right shares many of the same views of Dr. Tiller’s murderer and the Holocaust Museum shooter.

That’s not the same measuring stick and you know it. You can’t use the same measuring stick, because you know what the result would be.

  15. Oh God is this another one of those things all conservatives know but is gibberish to anyone with a brain?

  16. Dennis says:

Nobody on the mainstream left advocates hurting or killing soldiers. The mainstream right shares many of the same views of Dr. Tiller’s murderer and the Holocaust Museum shooter. Ow

The mainstream left is in in many ways just as compliant in having allowed the environment for that black Muslim convert to commit the murder as some of the ridiculous assertions you make to indict conservatives, Oliver. The ‘convenient black strikes again’ comment is so typical of you, too.

The mainstream right does share some of the same views as Dr. Tiller in that they don’t especially agree with late-term abortions, especially up till time of delivery, and babies that come out of the birth canal alive, yeah, I’ll agree with that. I’d think the mainstream left isn’t too enamored with those kinds of things either, would be my guess. And as I pointed out in the other thread, Von Brunn shared many of the same views as people on the mainstream left, too. Look how many of you here stuck up for Rev. Wright’s anti-Semitic views and denied even that he was anti-Semitic or racist. Or is that more of the ‘convenient black strikes again’ racist talk?

I don’t know too many people on the mainstream right who are Holocaust deniers, Oliver. How you come up with his relationship to the mainstream right is anyone’s guess, but I’m sure with the Media Matters braintrust behind you, you can come up with and justify about anything.

  17. Duros62 says:

The mainstream right does share some of the same views as Dr. Tiller

    They most certainly do not.

  18. Duros62 says:

Hey Frank, Denny just called you a “fringe element.”

  19. PD100 says:

The mainstream left is in in many ways just as compliant in having allowed the environment for that black Muslim convert to commit the murder as some of the ridiculous assertions you make to indict conservatives

Which prominent left-wing website / politician / radio-host / teevee pundit has fostered this compliance you speak of?

  20. Dennis says:

The mainstream right does share some of the same views as Dr. Tiller

They most certainly do not. Duros

‘Dr. Tiller’s murderer’, should have been. I’m going to guess anyone reading that knew what I meant from what I wrote in that sentence, but with you, Duros, that’s hardly a given.

  21. SFC B says:

Well, you have elected Democratic Party congressmen who will happily go on TV and call servicemen murderers. There are also liberal towns passing resolutions and ordinances specifically targetting the activities of recruiting personnel. There are also anti-military and anti-recruiting organizations who condone violence against recruiting stations.

But hey, they’re just recruiters so who the fuck cares right?

  22. Jeff says:

I saw this coming a couple months ago. With a Democrat in the White House (especially a black man), the crazies are going to start coming out of the woodwork. Remember the militia crazies when Bill Clinton was prez?

  23. Duros62 says:

I’m going to guess anyone reading that knew what I meant from what I wrote in that sentence, but with you, Duros, that’s hardly a given.

I assume nothing when it comes to you, Denny.

  24. Dennis says:

    Thanks, SFC B.

I’m guessing PD100 isn’t aware of Code Pink, either, and the massive efforts of the mainstream left to halt their intimidation and obstruction efforts at military recruitment centers.

  25. Bobby Thomson says:

    Squirrel!

  26. Bobby Thomson says:

    False equivalence!

  27. Colin says:

Nobody on the mainstream left advocates hurting or killing soldiers. The mainstream right shares many of the same views of Dr. Tiller’s murderer and the Holocaust Museum shooter.

So the left doesn’t bear responsibility because no one has been “advocating hurting or killing” people but the mainstream right is culpable because it “shares many of the same views” as the killers.

    Gotcha.

  28. Duros62 says:

How many people have Code Pink killed, Denny?

How many have been killed as a result of Operation Rescue’s propaganda?
Or the Aryan Nation? Or the American Nazi party?

  29. Dennis says:

False equivalence! –Shot heard round the world Bobby Thompson

It’s always false equivalence with you guys, where double standards are the norm in your world.

You always squawk ‘False equivalence!!!’, but it’s never followed up with any reasons why it’s a false equivalence.

  30. Dennis says:

How many people have Code Pink killed, Denny? Duros

Try to stay on message, Duros. How many people have Glenn Beck killed? Or Bill O’Reilly? Or Bernard Goldberg? You have stated you believe these guys to be accessories to murder at the very least. Why not the Code Pink wackjobs? Why not the vandals at the college campuses who harrassed and obstructed the military recruiters there?

  31. Right winger “SFC B”, did you ever try going to a College Republican National Convention to get military recruits?

Or did you realize that a bunch of cowardly privileged chickenhawks were a waste of your time?

Any idea why the Republican Party elected a bunch of worthless cowards like the Chickenhawk brigade of Republican AWOL Bush and ‘Five Deferments’ Cheney? Even Republican President Reagan was too weak to serve, though in his weak mind he thought he had.

And do you think that the Republicans will push Republican Mitt “Hid in France” Romney for President again?

  32. PD100 says:

So Code Pink and the San Francisco legislature and some DFH’s have the airwave access (with major network sponsorship to boot) as Limbaugh, O’Reilly, Savage, et. al, or as Dennis succinctly puts it “massive efforts”. Got it.

Oh, and Dennis -I tried to click the Malkin link but my conscience punched me in the dick.

  33. Dennis says:

“So the left doesn’t bear responsibility because no one has been “advocating hurting or killing” people but the mainstream right is culpable because it “shares many of the same views” as the killers.

    Gotcha.”

Wow, that was the most non-sensical sentence I’ve read today. Thank you.

But to be perfectly blunt and correct, any deflection of the facts that you attempt is nothing more than defending terrorists and extremism. Period, end of story. That goes for ALL of you– Dennis, Farris, etc. A converted Muslim shooting up a recruting station is the same as a right-wing nutter with a gun and murder in his eye. They’re both extremists, they’re both EVIL, and they both need to be locked up for life. And anyone defending these men or trying to deflect their actions onto an opposing yet non-violent side is sick in his soul and his mind.

  37. Burn says:

Sure SFC, a congressman saying stupid things about the troops is exactly like killing someone. What amazing power

You know the problem is with you wingnuts? You don’t know when to shut the hell up. Really. Just shut your mouths. You should deplore such violent acts and show some goddamn sympathy for the family of the murdered guard.

Instead, it’s very revealing how unbelievably FAST the wingnut brigade marches forward with their “This guy aint one of us” mantra. Or the false comparison…Well, liberals said bad things in the past, so therefore they are equal. They get SO defensive so quickly.

Gee, why did Fox News shy away from this story? Could it have something to do with the fact that the top three rated shows on their channel do nothing but spew lies and foster hatred towards anyone who isn’t a conservative? Glenn Beck has his paranoid delusions that Obama is coming for your guns! Oh no, rednecks, I guess you better get ready for the big battle!

And then I’ve even read things on Redstate that, get this, blame this on the left! How fucking stupid is Erick Erickson? How fucking stupid is Debbie Shussel? This is what they do, rather than admit, yes, some people take it too far. They project because they know goddamn well that this will reflect badly on their side, and like petulant children, they cannot admit it.

  38. Also Interesting says:

According to charging documents filed today in Washington, DC., investigators found a note in the car James von Brunn drove to the Holocaust Museum. In what investigators refer to as “handwritten notations” found in a notebook in the car, von Brunn wrote …

“You want my weapons — this is how you’ll get them. The Holocaust is a lie. Obama was created by Jews. Obama does what his Jew owners tell him to do. Jews captured America’s money. Jews control the mass media.”

    http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2009/06/note_found_in_von_brunns_car.php

Republican boss Rush Limbaugh says von Brunn is a Liberal. You know, like Richard Poplawski and Scott Roeder and Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad obviously are.

  39. Dennis says:

So the left doesn’t bear responsibility because no one has been “advocating hurting or killing” people but the mainstream right is culpable because it “shares many of the same views” as the killers. –Colin

Not one of of Oliver’s best responses ever, Colin. The logic on that one is like an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, shrouded in mystery. Must be ‘another one of those things all liberals know but is gibberish to anyone with a brain?’

  40. Duros62 says:

What, PD, you’re not one of the lefties who wants to hate-f*ck the shit out of her?

    Stay classy, Denny.

Does code Pink have a syndicated radio talk show? Are they on tv during prime time? do they spout their views to 20 million people at a time?

    No they don’t. That’s why it’s a false equivalence.

  41. Dennis says:

Weekly Standard may have been target

But maybe he was just planning on stopping by to deliver a bouquet. –Colin

Well, THAT certainly doesn’t fit into the Media Matters/Daily Kos/Keith Olberman narrative currently being spun, Colin.

It would seem the Journo-listers will have their work cut out for them tomorrow morning dispelling that report.

  42. Ivy NYC is my Hero of the Day!-)

  43. Burn says:

Once again, Deniis is projecting his sick sexual fetishes. No one here mentioned anything about sex and Michelle Malking, Dennis. You did, all by yourself. Personally, I am not attracted to a woman with a figure of a 12 year old boy.

  44. Duros62 says:

And then I’ve even read things on Redstate that, get this, blame this on the left!

Thank God for Jonah Loadpants and hsi logical fallacy!

  45. Dennis says:

    Stay classy, Denny. –Duros

It was a liberal that wrote that filthy article, Duros. And he put Mrs. Malkin at the top of his list, the sick SOB. Even though no one has expressed disgust at that list here, I’m sure you join me in at least your thoughts, silent as they may be.

  46. Irrefutable Proof... says:

    http://firedoglake.com/2009/06/11/irrefutable-proof-that-holocaust-museum-shooter-wasnt-one-of-dhss-right-wing-extremists/

The usual suspects are trying to convince us that there’s absolutely no evidence that James von Brunn, who will be charged with murder, was not a right-winger. Here’s what we know so far about him.

    1. He hates the US government.
    2. He hates liberals.
    3. He said President Obama was “created by Jews.”
    4. He believes Obama wasn’t born in the United States.
    5. He holds conspiratorial views about the federal reserve.
    6. He feared the takeover of the country by “black governors.”
    7. He was active in the white separatist movement.
    8. He is an anti-Semite.
    9. He is a known associate of William Pierce, author of The Turner Diaries.
    10. He is a known associate of Stan Hess, formerly of David Duke’s European rights organization.
    11. His birther screed was posted approvingly at Free Republic.
    12. He idolized John G. Crommelin, a McCarthyite and segregationist who ran for Governor of Alabama for the ultra right-wing National States’ Rights Party.
    13. He calls himself a “White Christian.”

Yep, sounds like a typical lefty to me.

Then again, to the wingnuts, the list looks something like this.

    1. He is a neo-Nazi.

Von Brunn’s a neo-Nazi. Nazis were leftists. Therefore, von Brunn is a leftist.

    Heh. Suck it, Kossacks!

  47. Dennis says:

A converted Muslim shooting up a recruting station is the same as a right-wing nutter with a gun and murder in his eye. They’re both extremists, they’re both EVIL, and they both need to be locked up for life. And anyone defending these men or trying to deflect their actions onto an opposing yet non-violent side is sick in his soul and his mind. –Ivy NYC

I agree with your first two sentences. Your third, I have no idea wtf you are talking about. Who is defending these men or trying to deflect their actions onto an opposing yet non-violent side?

Makes no sense. Mentioning commonalities Von Brunn shares with many on the left is simply playing the same stupid games the left-wing smear machine is by tagging this on the right, something apparently you whole-heartedly approve of. Even views as whacked out as News Idiot and others here.

  48. Burn says:

Dennis, white supremacy and neo-nazism are hallmarks of the RIGHT. Gods,

Not the Left, okay you fucking idiot? People on the hard left might not like what Israel does, but they don’t have a blanket hatred against the Jews. That’s all wingnuts for you.

And if you had half a brain, you’d know lots of the most hardcore anti-Israel leftists ARE Jewish!

The shooter was your typical right wing loser, angry, bitter, impotent, cannot keep a woman, little accomplished in life, gun nut, persecution complex, etc etc.

The core Fox News demographic in other words.

  49. Right wing dittohead “Dennis” decides to lead the Politically Correct bandwagon!

Okay, then, what are we going to do with these sick SOB’s who attacked a teenage girl:

    http://google.com/search?q=Rush+Limbaugh+Chelsea
    http://google.com/search?q=John+McCain+Chelsea

Clearly we’ll have to do to them whatever you want to do with the others on your Politically Correct list.

Oh, wait, that’s right, you follow Right Winger’s First Rule: Rules Are For Other People.

So even though right wing extremist Rush Limbaugh is a nasty misogynistic thug, you channel your Dear Leader every day like a good little goosestepping robot.

And the other guy you voted to become President.

Remember, it’s not that Republican President McCain made a sick joke about a teenage girl, or even that Republican McCain called his wife the C*** word that’s bad, it’s reporting those facts which are bad, because everyone knows, When It Comes To Republicans, Rules Are For Other People.

But, hey, anything to change the subject from right wing terrorism, right?

  50. Burn says:

How many leftists post anti-semetic tripe at Free Republic, raise your hands?

How many lefties post rants about Obama not being a US citizen, raise your hands?

How many lefties publish Neo-Nazi talking points, raise your hands?

How many lefties stockpile guns and ammo with paranoid delusions that the govt is coming for your little peashooters, raise your hands?

  51. Duros62 says:

Even though no one has expressed disgust at that list here, I’m sure you join me in at least your thoughts, silent as they may be.

Didn’t read it. Don’t care. The opinions of a douche bag frat boy on Playboy.com do not reflect my views. I’ve seen plenty of backlash about it, though, repudiations from both sides. if it makes you feel better, I reject his douche bag frat boy opinions. There is no place in the marketplace of ideas for a “hate-fucker.”

I find it interesting that this is the sort of thing I’m supposed to defend, while you’re busy excusing away right-wing terrorists.

  52. Duros62 says:

Your third, I have no idea wtf you are talking about. Who is defending these men or trying to deflect their actions onto an opposing yet non-violent side?

Jesus, there is dense and then there is singularity dense.

You just got finished trying to equate leftists with Nazism and fascism, diametrically opposed ideologies, no matter what Jonah Loadpants says.

  53. joaquin says:

From minute 1, the MSM labeled this nut a right-winger without doing one iota of research. Now the reality of this nut is coming out.
He was as much of a right-winger as Kos.
    Hated Bush, Cheney, neo-cons, and a 9-11 nut-job.
    SOME RIGHT WINGER!

  54. Duros62 says:

    Hated Bush, Cheney, neo-cons, and a 9-11 nut-job.
    SOME RIGHT WINGER!

Okay, I’ll spot you that. An extreme right winger then. A libertarian. Probably voted for Ron Paul.
    Or Babar.
    Feel better now?

  55. Right wing trolls here are trying to do exactly what Rupert Murdoch’s terrorist network did when the subject became right wing terrorism: Suddenly they change the subject.

“Nothing to see here people, just keep moving along.”

Uhm, no, actually Rupert Murdoch’s terrorist network should be the subject, it’s no different than Hezbollah TV.

  56. Neo-Nazi = Right Winger

  57. Indeed says:

    SOME RIGHT WINGER!

Just like lefties Jim Adkisson, Scott Roeder, and Richard Poplawski!

  58. lonya says:

    “SOME RIGHT WINGER!”

Hating Bush and Cheny is not uncommon in the aryan-nation, stormfront, white supremecist neo-nazi crowd and being to the right of Bush/Cheney et al. does not make one a leftwinger.

Not to mention the fact that conceptualizing all of this on a two-dimensional, linear left/right scale is a fool’s game to begin with. (Fool’s game generally – not specific to you btw). But even if one were forced to live on this two dimensional scale moving from rational to extreme right-wingdom is a move further right and not to the left.

  59. Dave in SoCal says:

Lashawn Barber writes stupid screed, news at 11.

Can’t address it, huh Oliver? Big shock.

Then how about just answering this simple question:

Why do you think Obama was “outraged” (and released a statement telling us so within 2 hours on a Sunday, no less) by the death of an abortion doctor, a private citizen, but only “saddened” (and it took him 2 days to release the statement) over the murder of an American soldier, who is actually under his command, on US soil?

And if you’re feeling really brave (yeah, I know, dream on), care to give your thoughts on why within hours of Dr. Tiller’s murder by a “right wing Christianist”, Obama’s AG issued a statement condemning the murder and offering US Marshals Service protection to abortion practitioners, however, 2 days after the murder of Pvt. Long by a Muslim American the same AG issued a statement which didn’t even mention the murder but… offered to protect American Muslims. Really. No kidding. Protect them from whom? Like LaShawn Barber notes, “who’s been intimidating people at the voting booth lately — the KKK or the Black Panthers?”.

No reference at all is made to the murder.

  60. Duros62 says:

    Squirrel!

  61. Dave in SoCal says:

How many leftists post anti-semetic tripe at Free Republic, raise your hands?

How many American presidents considered an anti-semite pastor to be their role model and spiritual mentor for 20 years, raise your hands?

  62. Sean D. Martin says:

Calvin Jones: At what point does either the Gov’t or their advertisers need to tell people like BillO or Boss Limbaugh to stop the hate speech or be forced off the air?

Around the point you want to have your First Amendment rights eliminated as well?

  63. Sean D. Martin says:

    Dennis:
“Which received more front-page headlines, statements of outrage, condemnation, sympathy, and resulted in apologetic genuflecting: the murder of a 67-year-old man who made his living as a late-term abortionist or the murder and wounding of two young military recruiters on duty?”

    Read the whole thing.

No. I stopped at the “who made his living as a late-term abortionist”. I appreciate the author declaring his bias right up front like that. Makes it clear the article has little interest in actually evaluating the relative worth of the two stories.

  64. Duros62 says:

being to the right of Bush/Cheney et al. does not make one a leftwinger.

Dude’s so far right, he’s gone all the way around.

  65. Colin says:

Jeez people, can we please stop trying to pigeonhole the shooter’s political beliefs? As the Politico says:

The suggestion that the Standard may have been a target complicates any view of the racist shooter in contemporary left-right terms. Von Brunn’s white supremacist roots put him under the rubric of a “right-wing extremist,” but the substance of his views — which included everything from believing that President Bush may have been in on the September 11 attacks to denying that President Obama is an American citizen — are too far on the fringe to fit into conventional political classification.

He wasn’t a right-winger, a libertarian (who believe in individual liberty and are generally pacifists), or anything of the sort. He was an old racist nut. Trying to spin this any other way given this guy’s myriad bizarre beliefs is trying to exploit a tragedy for political aims, which is odious.

His racism and extreme beliefs are, from all apparent evidence, long and well established. 88 years old, not some impressionable teenager. His formative years were the 1940s and 50s. It is unlikely in the extreme that he would be gently passing time on a rocking chair in some old folks home if not for [insert media bogeyman here].

  66. Duros62 says:

Jeez people, can we please stop trying to pigeonhole the shooter’s political beliefs?

    Translation: We’ve lost this fight.

  67. Burn says:

Joaquin, when some bitter old white man who has a criminal history of acting violently as well as a volume of bizarre, conspiracy laden, anti-jewish, anti-immigrant, anti-anyone who isn’t white and christian and male writings, it’s safe to say this guy isn’t a liberal.

    Just keep pouring it on.

  68. Burn says:

Gee, where do old racists nuts find a welcome home? Free Republic, StormFront, among other places.

Sounds like lefty land to me….

Who knew the terrorist threat inside this country would be the angry old man?

I guess Archie Bunker finally ‘had enough’, now he’s resorting to killing people he disagrees with.

I hope the cops and FBI really start cracking down on these dangerous, right wing lunatics before it’s too late. Sadly this will happen again.

Hey wingnuts, tell me again, when is Obama coming for your guns?

  69. joaquin says:

Burn – You just defined the radical left. Thanks!

And speaking of anti-Jewish, can you name a place where there is more anti-Jewish rhetoric being spewed than from the pulpits of Black churches? Do I need to name names?

  70. Dennis says:

Okay, then, what are we going to do with these sick SOB’s who attacked a teenage girl:

    http://google.com/search?q=Rush+Limbaugh+Chelsea
    http://google.com/search?q=John+McCain+Chelsea
    –News Idiot

    Squirrel!

    False equivalence!

Which one of those two had anything to do with hatef*cking Chelsea Clinton, or raping her in her adolescence, News Idiot?

Chelsea’s turned out quite nice, so I imagine she’s gotten the last laugh. Disgust at Letterman’s perverted attack on a 13 year old girl’s promiscuity who’s done nothing to deserve it is hardly being being PC. And what do you mean, what to do about the two men who attacked Chelsea with tasteless jokes about her adolescent awkwardness? It’s been well over 13 years now and freaks like you are still crowing about it and using it to justify sick, demented jokes from a has-been comedian who’s decided to carry water for team Obama in his twi-light years.

  71. SFC B says:

Right winger “SFC B”, did you ever try going to a College Republican National Convention to get military recruits?

Since there was never a College Republican National Convention in my recruiting area, I never did try to go to one to recruit.

Or did you realize that a bunch of cowardly privileged chickenhawks were a waste of your time?

Anyone who didn’t want to join the Army, or refer me to someone who did, was a waste of my time.

Sure SFC, a congressman saying stupid things about the troops is exactly like killing someone. What amazing power.

As someone else pointed out Burn, none of the O’Reilley, Limbaugh, Beck, cadre have actually said anything like “You should go kill Jews, Blacks, Gays, Abortion Doctors, or Liberals.” If you want to argue that they’re creating an enviroment where actually committing such acts would be okay, fine, make that arguement. But when you have folks on the other side of the spectrum saying things to dehumanize or degrade Soldiers, then don’t be surprised when similar charges that they’re fosting an enviroment where violence against this particular class is okay are made.

Does code Pink have a syndicated radio talk show? Are they on tv during prime time? do they spout their views to 20 million people at a time?

No they don’t, and yet they’re able to force a military facility to lock its doors and protect their equipment from vandalization. They’re also able to get the city to issue official condemnations of the military’s actions and attempt to bar the military from conducting their lawful mission. They’re even able to be such a threat to safety that the local police need to be called out to protect people from Code Pink’s actions. And they did all that without a syndicated talk show.

How many lefties publish Neo-Nazi talking points, raise your hands?

If the topic is Israel I’d bet that a lot of Neo-Nazi talking points on that subject resemble those ones from all those Leftist Jewish Anti-Israel people.

…angry, bitter, impotent, cannot keep a woman, little accomplished in life, gun nut, persecution complex…

Except for the “gun nut” you just described about 90% of the people who comment on this blog.

  72. Burn says:

Oh poor Dave in SoCal, has to resort to the most tired, lamest talking point ever.

Rev Wright means jack shit right now, ok wingnut? Think you can remember this?

My god, you’re like some 10 year old child who gets caught making noises during quiet time, then when you get busted, you point to the kid across the room and complain “he was making faces at me!” as if that’s supposed to even it all out.

How many of Rev Wrights church people have gone on shooting sprees lately?

    Wingnut FAIL

  73. Burn says:

Joaquin, how many radical lefties have gone on shooting sprees lately?

Please, thrill me with your Redstate talking points.

Are you the same idiot as Dave in So Cal? It’s all Rev Wright all the time with you losers, isnt it? Gee, I NEVER would have guessed.

Yes, radical black churches can espouse anti-semitic viewpoints…but how many of them go on shooting rampages?

    WINGNUT FAIL 2.0

  74. joaquin says:

Again, can you name a place where there is more anti-Jewish rhetoric being spewed than from the pulpits of Black churches?

  75. Dave in SoCal says:

No. I stopped at the “who made his living as a late-term abortionist”. I appreciate the author declaring his bias right up front like that. Makes it clear the article has little interest in actually evaluating the relative worth of the two stories.

I guess you’re just validating the results of this study:

People with stronger party affiliation, conservative political views, and greater interest in politics proved more likely to click on articles with opposing views, according to the Ohio State study.

“It appears that people with these characteristics are more confident in their views and so they’re more inclined to at least take a quick look at the counterarguments,”

Just because something may threaten your cherished beliefs is no reason to be afraid of reading it, Sean.

  76. Dennis says:

…angry, bitter, impotent, cannot keep a woman, little accomplished in life, gun nut, persecution complex…

To borrow a very trite and overused phrase here:

    SFC B, FTW!

  77. Burn says:

SFC dumbshit, Dildo O Reilly on multiple occasions on was on his TV show calling Dr Tiller a MURDERER who NEEDED TO BE STOPPED.

And he also said, quote, IF I COULD GET MY HANDS ON TILLER ….Who knew all these wingnuts were so angry and full of violent fantasies…

So naturally given the low IQ of the people who watch Dildo and his circus, it was only a matter of time before someone in his audience concurred.

Yes, he was stopped alright. By some wingnut of a man whose heart is full of the love of Jesus.

  78. SFC B says:

Yes, radical black churches can espouse anti-semitic viewpoints…but how many of them go on shooting rampages?

Well, to be fair, most of those radical black churches exist in liberal areas which have very strict gun-control laws.

Although Burn, I’m glad to know you’re all for anti-semitism as long as the people involved don’t go out and immediatly shoot anyone.

It’s also nice to know that so many people want to go ahead and do away with that pesky Bill of Rights thingy for a few tens of millions of Americans because someone did something bad which, with a whole lot of rhetorical effort, has some tertiary connection to something else people they disagree with might support.

Honestly, judging by the media coverage, the reaction, and the actual events involved, I’m reminded of the Summer of the Shark back in 2001.

  79. joaquin says:

Burn – You’re hopelessly swinging for the fence. Try with all your might to label that nut a right-winger, but it’s not flying and it makes you look silly.
Most media outlets that jumped on the ‘right-winger’ rhetoric from the get go are already backing down. Take note.

  80. Burn says:

Joaquin, yes I can easily think of someplace that has more anti-Jewish sentiment than a ‘black church’ (oh scary ANGRY black people, oh no!) Fuck you, you little racist turd.

Stormfront.org for starters. There are TONS of crazy, paranoid, it’s all a conspiracy of the Joooz websites out there

Are you that stupid, or just playing dumb?

  81. Dave in SoCal says:

Rev Wright means jack shit right now, ok wingnut? Think you can remember this?

Of course, pay no attention whatsoever to the anti-semite who Obama considered his friend, role model and mentor for over 20 freaking years. Means nothing.

I know this is an inconvenient fact that you’d like to be quickly swept back under the carpet where Obama managed to keep it during the campaign, but Rev Wright refuses to go away.

  82. joaquin says:

Can someone drag Burn’s fainting couch in here?
He’s a sensitive boy and the brash exchange of ideas in here has gotten the best of his delicate nervous system.
Hey Burn, does your mother make you come here from time to time in order to make a man out of you?

    Smelling salts anyone?

  83. Burn says:

Oh, I love this. Now we really know what the resident asshole wingnuts think…it’s all about the SCARY BLACK CHURCHES!!!

Did you losers get beat up too many times by the black kids in middle school or something, and you never got over it?

  84. SFC B says:

    SFC dumbshit…

Are you CSS? Are you related to him? Do you share a therapist?

Dildo O Reilly on multiple occasions on was on his TV show calling Dr Tiller a MURDERER who NEEDED TO BE STOPPED.

And how do we stop murderers in this country? By shooting them as they go about their daily business? Nope. By arresting them, charging them with a crime, and put them before a jury? Yup.

And he also said, quote, IF I COULD GET MY HANDS ON TILLER ….Who knew all these wingnuts were so angry and full of violent fantasies…

Given your hyperbolic responses and overuse of CAPS you might want to be careful who you go around calling “angry”. Seriously dude, it’s a blog and there are people who disagree with you. Calm down, no need to go getting your fur all bristled.

So naturally given the low IQ of the people who watch Dildo and his circus, it was only a matter of time before someone in his audience concurred.

So what is your solution? To go ahead and take viewpoints you don’t agree with off the air? Hold producers legally responsible for things people do after listening to, or watching something they produce? I don’t see any way those ideas could have unintended consquences. Nope. No way at all that comes back to bite people in the ass. Never.

By some wingnut of a man whose heart is full of the love of Jesus.

Careful man, your intolerance is showing.

  85. Dennis says:

And he also said, quote, IF I COULD GET MY HANDS ON TILLER ….Who knew all these wingnuts were so angry and full of violent fantasies…

So naturally given the low IQ of the people who watch Dildo and his circus, it was only a matter of time before someone in his audience concurred. –Burned

Seeing as how O’Reilly made that statement well over 2 years ago, and the fact that no tie from Tiller’s assassin to O’Reilly has been made, you are just talking out of your ass, Burn. You know nothing of his IQ, either. Nor the average IQ of the people who watch Fox News. You don’t know shit, Burn.

  86. Burn says:

Ha ha, the election is OVER, wingnuts! Don’t you idiots ever keep up with current events?

Trying to hammer home the feeble point that Wright and Obama are drinking buddies FAILED BIG TIME!!! Despite what that little prick Handjobity on Fox news who had weekly hour long specials about Obama and his RADICAL associations, none of it worked.

  87. Dennis says:

Oh, I love this. Now we really know what the resident asshole wingnuts think…it’s all about the SCARY BLACK CHURCHES!!!

Did you losers get beat up too many times by the black kids in middle school or something, and you never got over it? –Burned

Shorter Burned: “I’m losing this one. Time to pull out the race card, fast!”

  88. Burn says:

The core demographic for Fox News is easy. Stupid, bitter, mostly old white men who come home from their pointless, low paying jobs to their ugly frigid wives(assuming they even got married, but they had to ‘wait’), to sit on their fat asses watching hours of douchebag pundits who scream that everything wrong in the world is the fault of Pelosi and Soros.

  89. Burn says:

I swear, the year will be 2015 and some idiot wingnut will STILL bring up Rev Wright.

Maybe someone will revive the “He pals around with terrorists” line again. That was so much fun.

And Dennis, someday too, you might mate with a real live woman…hint, paying doesn’t count.

  90. Duros62 says:

If you want to argue that they’re creating an enviroment where actually committing such acts would be okay, fine, make that arguement.

Okay, they are creating an environment where actaully committing such acts would be okay.

    Yes. Stormfront.org, Redstate,com, Halturnershow.com, etc.

Psst. Denny. He was talking about you too, big guy.

  92. Duros62 says:

Well, to be fair, most of those radical black churches exist in liberal areas which have very strict gun-control laws.

Right. Black inner-city neighborhoods? I question the validity of your statement.

  93. Dave in SoCal says:

Trying to hammer home the feeble point that Wright and Obama are drinking buddies FAILED BIG TIME!!

REV. JEREMIAH A. WRIGHT, JR.: Pastor inspires Obama’s ‘audacity’

Obama says that rather than advising him on strategy, Wright helps keep his priorities straight and his moral compass calibrated.

“What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice,” Obama said. “He’s much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I’m not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that’s involved in national politics.”

    [...]

In his 1993 memoir “Dreams from My Father,” Obama recounts in vivid detail his first meeting with Wright in 1985. The pastor warned the community activist that getting involved with Trinity might turn off other black clergy because of the church’s radical reputation.

When Obama sought his own church community, he felt increasingly at home at Trinity. Before leaving for Harvard Law School in 1988, he responded to one of Wright’s altar calls and declared a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Later he would base his 2004 keynote speech to the Democratic National Convention on a Wright sermon called “Audacity to Hope,” –also the inspiration for Obama’s second memoir, “The Audacity of Hope.”

Though Wright and Obama do not often talk one-on-one often, the senator does check with his pastor before making any bold political moves.

Last fall, Obama approached Wright to broach the possibility of running for president. Wright cautioned Obama not to let politics change him, but he also encouraged Obama, win or lose.

HAHAHAHAHA stupid wingnut losers, can’t you see there’s no connection whatsoever between Obama and Wright??? None at all! You’re such losers!!!

  94. Dave in SoCal says:

I swear, the year will be 2015 and some idiot wingnut will STILL bring up Rev Wright.

Here’s a clue, moron: Wright thrust himself back into the spotlight yesterday by proudly telling the world that it was those damned Jews keeping him from seeing his pal Obama.

    Good God you are dense.

  95. Duros62 says:

There WAS a connection, Dave. There isn’t anymore. The jews aren’t keeping Wright away from Obama. It’s Obama.

    Still irrelevant.

Most media outlets that jumped on the ‘right-winger’ rhetoric from the get go are already backing down. Take note.

    Oh really? Who’s that?

  96. Burn says:

Daveinsostupid, that article is dated almost 2-1/2 years ago.

Let me clue you in, ok? Your side LOST the election.

Get over it. Trying to smear Obama with Wright DID NOT WORK. Anyone with a brain realized that just because your church pastor says something, doesn’t mean everyone in attendance nods along in agreement.

    Don’t you get it already?

Let’s say Obama was in the church 20 years. 52 sermons a year, hell, we’ll drop it down to 48 to account for sick days and being hungover. Sermon might last, oh, 45 minutes. 45 minutes times 48 sermons is 2160 minutes. Times 20 years is 43200 minutes of sermon time.

So out of all that time, Hannity had less than one minute of ANGRY BLACK MAN soundbites to replay over and over and over on Fox.

That leaves 43199 minutes of boring preacher talk that didn’t say things that might upset the wingnuts.

    WINGNUT FAIL…again.

  97. SFC B says:

I question the validity of your statement.

Honestly, I wasn’t really trying very hard to make any sort of factual statement about radical black churches and the gun-control laws in the areas they’re located. I was just trying to make a toss-off comment about how, just because radical black anti-semitism hasn’t resulted in front-page grabbing killing sprees doesn’t make it right. Burn is basically condoning anti-semitism in the black community since it doesn’t result in things like the Holocaust museum shooting.

Originally I was going to write something about how anti-semitism at radical black churches didn’t cause people to shoot at Jews because felons aren’t allowed to have weapons. But then I remembered where I’m writing, and that propogating ugly, hateful sterotypes is wrong.

  98. Sean D. Martin says:

Dave in SoCal: I guess you’re just validating the results of this study:

Just because something may threaten your cherished beliefs is no reason to be afraid of reading it, Sean.

Wow. You post this at almost the same time when you’re giving me shit in another thread for listening to Rush Limbaugh.

I didn’t say I was opposed to reading other views. Hell, several times on this site I’ve said how much I like to hear views that differ from mine. I like reasonably presented, rational arguments in support of some other opinion which force me to examine my own opinion on something (and sometimes I’ve been convinced to change my opinion).

  99. SFC B says:

Anyone with a brain realized that just because your church pastor a talk show or radio host says something, doesn’t mean everyone in attendance watching or listening nods along in agreement.

    FIFY

  100. Dennis says:

Most media outlets that jumped on the ‘right-winger’ rhetoric from the get go are already backing down. Take note.

    Oh really? Who’s that? Duros

If the reports that Von Brunn was a registered Democrat in the state of Maryland prove to be true, Duros, then you won’t have to ask which media outlet is backing down. The answer will be ‘all of them’.

  101. Burn says:

SFC Brainless, who is the large group of people who proudly call themselves Dittoheads again? Help me out here?

  102. Burn says:

Dennis, which reports are saying this? Oh, right wing blogs only? Gateway pundit? Free republic? Real credible ’sources’ you have there, buddy.

The right wing echo chamber strikes again.

Wow, I guess that means he must have voted for Gore and Obama, right?

  103. SFC B says:

    SFC Brainless…

Are you actually making fun of the names people use? What are you? In 4th grade? Is your mom aware you’re using the computer right now?

…who is the large group of people who proudly call themselves Dittoheads again? Help me out here?

I’d love to help you out but I have no dlue what the hell you’re talking about. You’re really all over the place. In one comment you’re holding Bill O’Reilly responsible for Dr. Tiller’s murder because he spent a few minutes of the tens of thousands he’s spent on air talking about Tiller. And then a few comments later you’re saying that Rev. Wright’s anti-semitism is fine and dandy because, of the tens of thousands of minutes he’s spent at the pulpit, he was only recorded being a hateful prick in a handful of them.

Just a little bit of consistency would be nice man. At least within the same comment thread.

  104. Burn says:

The media is calling him what he is, a white supremacist. In other words, an inferior white person.

  105. Dennis says:

The media is calling him what he is, a white supremacist. In other words, an inferior white person. Burned

Well, well, well. Seems your racism is coming out loud and clear, there, Burned. Who could’ve imagined someone who so easily levels the charge of racism is also one himself.

    Color me shocked.

  106. Duros62 says:

But then I remembered where I’m writing, and that propagating ugly, hateful stereotypes is wrong.

Oh right. Ha. Good on ya.

Well, well, well. Seems your racism is coming out loud and clear, there, Burned.

I don’t think he meant what you think he does, Denny. As a white guy, I think white supremacists are inferior. Just in general.

  107. Burn says:

SFC, you know damn well who the Dittoheads are. Don’t act that fucking stupid. Ok, maybe you are that stupid. Dittoheads are the blind idiot followers of the bloated pig fucker Limpballs.
Ditto, as in they hear him speak, and they go…Ditto.

Duhhhhhh…well, Rush said it, guh, so it must be true, Cletus…hand me some chew…

So Dennis, do you think white supremacists are what they say they are?

Every single self avowed white person who calls them selves superior, is the biggest fucking LOSER on the planet. They are the uneducated white trash morons who live in Sarah Palin’s “Real America”. And yes, I am white you dolt. I grew up in Virginia and saw plenty of these backwoods, inbred, Nascar watching hillbillies as I grew up. There’s nothing more amusing than listening to some 6th grade dropout manual laborer talk about why ‘white people are better than the ni@@ers’

  108. SFC B says:

Well, well, well. Seems your racism is coming out loud and clear, there.

In Burn’s defense, he could be referring to a blief that someone who thinks their racial or ethnic background makes them superior to other people is actually an inferior person, and not that white people are inferior to some other group. I would be inclined to agree that someone who says their race or ethnic background makes them superior to someone not of their group is trying to compensate for some personal flaw.

  109. Duros62 says:

Dittoheads are the blind idiot followers of the bloated pig fucker Limpballs.

C’mon, now. That’s not fair! You’re insulting Haitian rent boys.

  110. Duros62 says:

There’s nothing more amusing than listening to some 6th grade dropout manual laborer talk about why ‘white people are better than the ni@@ers’

    Yeah, that is pretty funny.

  111. SFC B says:

SFC, you know damn well who the Dittoheads are. Don’t act that fucking stupid. Ok, maybe you are that stupid. Dittoheads are the blind idiot followers of the bloated pig fucker Limpballs.

“Limpballs”? You really are in 4th grade aren’t you? Is your mom aware you’re on the computer AND use language like “pig fucker”? Did your older sister leave her copy of the South Park movie DVD out?

My saying I had no idea what you’re talking about had nothing to do with Dittoheads, and was instead me being totally confused about why you needed them mentioned and what you hoped to accomplish by bringing them into the conversation. So far nothing in this thread even touched on them other than in connection to Rush Limbaugh’s anti-abortion stance. It seems to me that your whole point in mentioning them was to get to use the lame insult “Limpballs”.

Every single self avowed white person who calls them selves superior, is the biggest fucking LOSER on the planet.

Normally I wouldn’t snipe the grammar, but for you I’ll make an exception. They can’t all be the “biggest fucking loser” since loser is singular. Next time try “losers” or “the biggest fucking group of losers”.

And yes, I am white you dolt. I grew up in Virginia and saw plenty of these backwoods, inbred, Nascar watching hillbillies as I grew up.

You lie! You’ve never grown up.

There’s nothing more amusing than listening to some 6th grade dropout manual laborer talk about why ‘white people are better than the ni@@ers’

A couple of questions. 1: What is a 4th grader doing hanging out with a bunch of dropout manual laborers? 2: Why the heck didn’t you call them on their racist bullshit? 3: What was I saying about sterotyping a little while ago?

  112. Burn says:

Wow, SFC, thanks for a moment of clarity.

  113. [...] Willis sums it up: For some time now, as John Lewis noted, the right has done a good job of whipping up hatred and anim…   [...]

  114. Dennis says:

So Dennis, do you think white supremacists are what they say they are? Burned

Not at all, Burned. I think they’re pretty screwed up and I have nothing to do with them, nor have I ever. they pretty much repulse me. But I don’t think of them as inferior. I don’t of anyone as inferior to me and I don’t think of anyone as superior, either. I live in Virginia and I know what you’re talking about and it makes me sick to my stomach, too, but I don’t consider them inferior to me, no matter how backward or arrogant they are.

You seem to act as if you are superior to conservatives in general, Bruned. At least the Dittohead and the Fox News watchers. And you’re not alone here in that regard. Why do white supremacists bother you so much when you exhibit some of the very same arrogance they do?

  115. soullite says:

So… SFC thinks murdering people is okay if they vote in away he doesn’t like? That seems to be the gist of his complaints. Towns he doesn’t live in pass bills he doesn’t like. Politicians he didn’t vote for say things he disagrees with.

Everything else is BS he spouts so he can pretend he doesn’t hate Democracy.

  116. Dennis says:

  117. Zython says:

    Jew Hater…. For many, check

Because everyone knows that if you don’t support Israel in everything that they do, you’re an anti-semite.

    Fucking douchebag.

  118. SFC B says:

    Jew Hater…. For many, check.

Because everyone knows that if you don’t support Israel in everything that they do, you’re an anti-semite.

The guy Dennis is talking about really did hate Jews. He’s not saying the guy hated Israel and that means he hated Jews. He’s saying he hated Jews because he really hated Jews.

SFC thinks murdering people is okay if they vote in away he doesn’t like?

Never said that. Don’t think that.

That seems to be the gist of his complaints.

Not complaining. I was challenged to find people on the left who have said things that could gin up hatred towards a class of people. If Eureka, CA wants to pass an ordinance to bar recruiters from performing their lawful duties in the town, they’re more than welcome to. I’m sure the CA state government is happy to find a town in the state with enough surplus in their budget to defend themselves in federal court. Lord knows they need to find some money somewhere.

Everything else is BS he spouts so he can pretend he doesn’t hate Democracy.

I’d love for you to show me how anything I’ve said could be construed to imply I hate Democracy. I really would.

  119. Burn says:

Not surprising at all the desperate, shameless, cowardly wingnuts would try and make this guy out to be some liberal. How do you do it? Seriously, how do you consciously try to play this game? Can’t you just just accept the facts as they are, rather than trying to furiously spin something for a partisan viewpoint?

This asshole was a NEO NAZI, ok? How many liberal Nazis do you know? If we sat down and had a chat with this loser, you think he’d warm up to a conversation about Yoga and green tea and being open minded? Give me a fucking break, this is the angry old white man you see at KKK rallies, oops, I mean gun shows handing out literature about the Joooooz and how evil they are and how they must be exterminated.

  120. Zython says:

The guy Dennis is talking about really did hate Jews. He’s not saying the guy hated Israel and that means he hated Jews. He’s saying he hated Jews because he really hated Jews.

No, he’s saying he hates Jews, therefore he’s a Liberal(TM), who hate Jews, BECAUSE they hate Israel.

    Get it?

  121. SFC B says:

If we sat down and had a chat with this loser, you think he’d warm up to a conversation about Yoga and green tea and being open minded?

Probably not, but if you talked with him about a centrally planned economy, eliminating corporations, and a powerful central government he’d probably be nodding his head in agreement. The only thing you’d disagree with him on would be who’d be in charge.

  122. Caged Lion says:

Interesting conversation. I resent whoever tried to drag black churches into this mess. You have never attended a black church in your life, so don’t paint them all with one brush, idiot.

  123. Caged Lion says:

I have never met a normal black person in my life who gave a fuck about jews. Seriously.

It’s always some fringe fool or celebrity.

  124. SFC B says:

No, he’s saying he hates Jews, therefore he’s a Liberal(TM), who hate Jews, BECAUSE they hate Israel.

    Get it?

Ah yeah. Missed that. Yup, that’s what he said. Pretty dumb of him. Not feeling too bright myself for missing that bit of context.

  125. Dennis says:

No, he’s saying he hates Jews, therefore he’s a Liberal(TM), who hate Jews, BECAUSE they hate Israel.

    Get it? Zython

No, Zython, I didn’t say that, and I don’t get it. Little you say ever makes sense. I said nothing about Israel, you did. I said this guy hated Jews and many liberals also hate Jews.

Is it your stance like many liberal blogs that because somehow since this guy hated Jews and was a Holocaust denier and went to the Holocaust Museum to shoot people that that makes him more like a conservative than anything else?

    Fucking douchebag, yourself. Douchebag.

  126. Parthenon says:

    many liberals also hate Jews.

    1) Who?

    2) If you’re not allowed to say ‘Reverend Wright,’ can you still answer that question?

  127. SFC B says:

You have never attended a black church in your life, so don’t paint them all with one brush, idiot.

I like how you, in the same sentence, do exactly what you don’t want other people to do.

  128. Dennis says:

    1) Who?

    2) If you’re not allowed to say ‘Reverend Wright,’ can you still answer that question? Parthy

    Louis Farrakhan and yes.

    Next question.

  129. SFC B says:

    1) Who?

Cynthia McKinney isn’t much of a fan of the Jews either.

  130. Caged Lion says:

I’m only painting YOU with a brush. Have you ever attended a black church or no?

  131. SFC B says:

I’m only painting YOU with a brush. Have you ever attended a black church or no?

Since I’m the only one who responded to you, I’m going to assume you mean me. I’m curious what business my religious preferences is to you.

  132. Ol' Dutch says:

    I believe in States’ Rights!

  133. Indeed says:

    J-Marsh at TPM:

The only evidence I can see that von Brunn may have had some affection for the left is that his horrific crime seems to have driven the mainstream right into a collective paroxysm of protest too much-ism …

  134. Caged Lion says:

I was addressing my remark only to the person who said that black churches are cauldrons of anti-semitism. Looking back, I don’t think that was you.

  135. Jaim says:

We’ve got seven more years ahead of right-wingers going crazy and murdering cops, doctors, and museum guards. It won’t be pretty, but it’s the death throes of their dead-end, racist ideology.

  136. Amused Observer says:

    Jaim,
Aren’t you being a bit melodramatic? I’m assuming the 7 year time frame is a reference to a potential Obama second administration. Does this mean we can expect more murders of American soldiers by black muslims?

  137. PD100 says:

What, PD, you’re not one of the lefties who wants to hate-f*ck the shit out of her?

I’ll tell you what, you miserable snaggletoothed pansy, come say it to my face. I’ll be glad to email you where you can find me and you can come with all the guns you got stashed in your mom’s basement and face me. Better yet, bring the rest of your overall soiling teabag posse-comitatus of dead-enders who get indignant over a blogger who pointed out that an 88 year old Neo-Nazi is playing your game and took the life of an innocent man and planned to do worse if he weren’t so incompetent- to no surprise. Bring ‘em all, by all means.

You see, I don’t back down to you or any of your ilk, much in the same way Stephen Johns didn’t. So put up or shut the fuck up.

  138. Zython says:

    I don’t get it

Truer words have never been spoken.

I said nothing about Israel, you did. I said this guy hated Jews and many liberals also hate Jews.

And I’m saying that the reason you think Liberals(TM) hate Jews is because they’re not universally pro-Israel.

How do I know this? Because that’s what all the OTHER conservatives believe.

  139. Liberal Jews are more pro-Israel than right wing Jews:

    http://JStreet.org

    M.J. Rosenberg

    Liberal Jewish newspaper:
    Ha’aretz, http://Haaretz.com

I’ve never understood why right wing Jews hate Israel so much that they would choose insane, fruitless wars for land grabs that further endanger Israel over choosing the inevitable and obvious path towards peace.

  140. The handful of right wing trolls here have been awfully busy today trying to change the subject from right wing hate speech and it’s fruit: Murderous terrorism.

Instead of addressing the subject of how right wing hate speech has produced a string of right wing terrorists (James Von Brunn, Jim Adkisson, Richard Poplawski, and Scott Roeder, a pattern of right wing terrorism), the right wing have started screaming, “I know you are but what am I”, like third graders.

Suddenly a supremacist with his right wing philosophy of domination and hierarchy (which is diametrically opposed to liberalism’s core tenets of equality and egalitarianism) is suddenly reimagined in the right wing’s Orwellian world view as the responsibility of the left wing.

It’s much easier for the right wing trolls here to lie and change the subject than address reality.

The violent right wing hate speech that emanated from the Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain and Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin supporters now has a body count.

Republican John McCain couldn’t lower the temperature of hate speech because it was a central part of McCain’s strategy to rely on racism and bigotry to win. Republican Sarah Palin was deliberately raising the volume and heat of hate speech because hate and bigotry is a central part of who Sarah Palin is.

So the obscene calls by Republican McCain/Palin supporters:

    “Kill him!”

    “Off with his head!”

    “Terrorist!”

    “Traitor”

    “Sit down, boy!”

All of those violent, hateful remarks went unaddressed by the Republican leaders because Republicans were relying on those hateful bigoted supporters to win.

But now that there is a verifiable (and predictable) body count associated with the right wing’s violent hate speech, suddenly right wingers are grasping at any and every duplicitous rhetorical device they can to change the subject.

But the subject is still right wing hate speech and it’s fruit: Murderous terrorism.

  141. Parthenon says:

Does this mean we can expect more murders of American soldiers by black muslims?

Until our soldiers have left the holy land, there’s always that possibility. I’m not advocating we formulate strategy based on terror acts, only pointing out that that act had nothing to do with Pres. Obama.

  142. Amused Observer says:

    A fair point Parthenon,

On the other hand, any sign of weakness, running away, appeasement often appears to inflame islamic bloodlust. Europe has quite a bit of trouble with muslims and not much presense in the mideast.

Obama certainly didn’t project strength in his recent tour. He did however downplay the christian roots he was so proud of during the election and emphasize his muslim backround, education, and fictitiosly inflated the number of muslims in this country.

The murderer had no roots in the mideast. He was born and bred an American. His crime was done in typical drive by fashion. A recent convert, it is no less unlikely that he was tipped over the edge by living in a country whose president has great sympathy for muslims than Jaim’s theory of 7 years of Obama inflamed right wing terror.

  143. Amused Observer says:

    Say News,
You never did provide an answer regarding what Israel ought to do if she were to follow your 3 part solution that used to be your signature and was still subject to islamic aggression.

  144. Amused Observer says:

    Wow,
PD100 gets called on his crude remarks and goes apeshit.

  145. The more pertinent question, “Amused Observer”, is what will we as Americans do if right wing terrorists continue to act violently. How will we stop this right wing aggression?

Clearly there is a pattern of right wing terrorism emerging between James Von Brunn, Jim Adkisson, Richard Poplawski, and Scott Roeder.

What do you propose we do about it? Be specific.

Also, do you feel that your violent, eliminationist approach to problem solving is part of what is encouraging domestic right wing terrorism?

    If not, why not?

  146. Amused Observer says:

    News,
You seem most unwilling to commit your thoughts to writing regarding a proper response to islamic aggression directed towards Israel is she were to follow your oft repeated 3 part solution.

I will address your questions after you come clean about Israel’s options.

  147. Right wing eliminationist “Amused Observer” is apparently admitting that domestic right wing terrorism in America isn’t important to him but puny threats to Israel are.

At least you are being clear about where your loyalties are, “Amused.”

Perhaps if you had more loyalty to America you would recognize that Israel’s lawless land grabs are part of what is riling up Muslims around the world to go “Wolverine” and getting American troops killed.

At least you could pretend to be concerned about America and American troops.

But even if your loyalty is to Israel over America, you really need to start thinking about how Israel’s lawless land grabs endanger Israel.

  148. Ivy NYC says:

Dennis, really, I’m not kidding. You need some serious professional help. You are delusional, and your rage is festering into mental illness. I’m not saying this to be snarky, I am really seriously concerned for your stability.

Don’t think I’m concerned because I give a rat’s ass about you. I don’t. I’m concerned because I don’t want to be the next one shot in a museum or a church or at a gynecologist’s office or on the subway. And what you are saying here is completely not based in reality whatsoever.

Oliver, I’m not telling you what to do on your blog, and you can tell me to fuck off. But the more we respond to these maniacs, the more we feed their madness. And it IS madness, it’s mental illness bordering on collective schizophrenia. Monitor them, report them to the authorities, but don’t respond to them. Like I said, this is merely a suggestion.

I LOVE your blog, it’s one of the best out there. But I’m finding myself leaving a lot of sites, including the Huff Post, because they can’t control the crazies coming on there. I come to progressive blogs to discuss issues, not read threatening filth. If I wanted that, I’d just go to Little Green Footballs or Say Anything and cut out the middle man.

    Godspeed Oliver! Keep the faith!

    Love,

    Ivy

  149. lonya says:

Uh, about that checklist making this guy out to be a lefty . . .

    “Registered Democrat (needs confirmation)….check”

Unconfirmed and unsourced = uncheck (and let’s not forget that the Democrats in Md. for example who voted for George Wallace in 72 and 76 are not what anyone would call liberal unless you choose to define all dems as liberal.

    “Jew Hater…. For many, check
    FOX News’ O’Reilly hater…..Big check
    Weekly Standard hater…..Bigger check
Bush hater…..Whoah, Huuuge check. OMG check.
    Neo-con hater….. Duh. Check
9-11 was an inside job nut…… 50-50. Let slide.”

As to all of the above none of it is uncommon in aryan-nation/storm-front white supremecist hate groups who loathe all of the above priimarily for their support of Israel, who think Bush’s Iraq war was all about protecting Israel etc. and who likewise think 9/11 was a conpiracy with “the Jews” to get a waq going in the Middle East to help Israel. As to the 9-11 nuts – the fact that there are self-described leftists who share the same anti-Israeli/semitic/zionist (take your pick) instincts does not render a loon of the right from sharing that view no more than a lefty’s anti-semitism renders him a nazi. In other words – it is a meaningless comparison.

    “Socialist….Check”
    Unconfirmed and unsourced = uncheck.

    “artist…..Ha! Check”

    I get the joke here.

“Stated that “SOCIALISM, represents the future of the West”…Check”

Uh, conservatives here and around the blogosphere and on talk radio have argued that Obama’s fiscal policy is leading us into socialism. Does it make you a socialist to say that socialism under Obama represents the future of the U.S. – or is it a dire warning? So until you can source and contextualize the above into something that shows he was making such a statement in support of socialism rather than a warning, well, then uncheck.

“Stated that the Apostle Paul destroyed Rome by undermining its pagan virility….”

What the hell does this mean???? And not for nothing it seems to share some homo-erotic inclinations that the Nazis were known for. Pagan virility? Gotta tell ya, never seen any discussions of pagan virility on any left wing blogs.

Bottom line is that this whole feeble attempt to paint this nut job as a liberal or socialist is really banal to the point of pathos and yet another sign that our national discourse has sunk to the level of sandbox “I know you are but what am I” debates. Well, if the left is going to portray him as right – well let’s say no he’s one of you nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah.

I suppose thats endemic to the blogosphere generally and is certainly not limited to ‘the right’ but its really really really sad to see this schoolyard crapola and what makes it worse is the peacock like strutting that seems to surround it. Its the intellectual equivalent of grandpa sitting at the table at thanksgiving asking the kids to pull his finger and then boasting of how funny he is after farting at the dinner table.

  150. Dennis says:

    Ionya-

I have no real heartfelt disagreements with anything you’ve written. If you believe this man can’t really be defined as either solely right or left and that he shares literally nothing that can be identified with you or with me, or that puts us in the same camp as him, or that either of our belief systems allows an environment for this guy to do what he did, then I’m in agreement with you.

  151. lonya says:

Truth be told the guy is insane and since I don’t think insanity is a normal part of your belief system nor mine nor of the left nor right generally.

I wouldn’t lump a Krauthammer in with this guy (and I really dont much like Krauthammer) any more than I would lump Kos in with the Environmental Liberation Front folks.

At the same time I do think that there is room for a discussion about the impact that the tone and nature of our discourse has generally (talk radio, tv, internet) etc. on the actions of those who are a hair trigger away from nut-dom to begin with.

  152. Duros62 says:

    “artist…..Ha! Check”

    So is Dr. Kervorkian.

Hitler was an artist too, and I still don’t consider him a liberal.

    And what Ivy said.

  153. Duros62 says:

    Sorry, what Ionya said.

  154. Duros62 says:

At the same time I do think that there is room for a discussion about the impact that the tone and nature of our discourse has generally (talk radio, tv, internet) etc. on the actions of those who are a hair trigger away from nut-dom to begin with.

So how do we do that? How do we convince the Limbaughs, Savages, Becks and O’Reillys (yes, even the Olbermanns) of the world to tone it down? How can we persuade them that there is no fire in the theater and it is irresponsible to speculate that there is, all the while secretly hoping for a fan boy in the audience with a bic lighter?

  155. SFC B says:

I come to progressive blogs to discuss issues, not read threatening filth.

So far the only person to actually make a threat on this thread is PD100. And in all the time I’ve been commenting on here the only two people I’ve seen make any threat, and it is only of the “come here and say that to my face” variety, have been Repack Rider and PD100. But hey, I guess you can be forgiven for missing PD100’s threat to another commenter, this is a long thread and the comment was posted a whopping… 10 comments above yours.

  156. James Von Brunn is a right wing terrorist.

“Dennis” is a deceitful and malignant right wing extremist who is trying to change the subject.

  157. “Blue Texan” over at Firedoglake does a brilliant job countering right wing nonsense about whether James von Brunn is a right wing extremist:

    13. He calls himself a “White Christian.“”

James von Brunn is more than just a right wing extremist, he’s a right wing terrorist.

  158. Amused Observer says:

    Hey News,
Calling you on your bullshit has nothing to do with supporting Israel or my feelings towards America.

I am calling you out publicly to defend your position.
Your signature used to be a 3 part rant about Israel. For several weeks you have repeatedly dodged the question.

Specifically what should Israel do if after complying with your 3 part solution she is again subject to islamic aggression?

Just answer the question unless as I suspect you don’t have the intellectual chops. I suspect you have no answer because you have never pushed your feeble liberal inflamed mind into the world of possible consequences.

  159. lonya says:

“How do we convince the Limbaughs, Savages, Becks and O’Reillys (yes, even the Olbermanns) of the world to tone it down?”

Beats me Duro (and I’m saying that non-sarcastically). On the one hand, I always have a strong inclination to ignore the nuttiness on the theory that the thing these guys hate more than anything else is indifference. On the other hand, if you don’t hold people to account there’s no way in the world any of these nattering nabobs is going to enter into sufficient self-reflection to tone it down because its the bombast that’s driving their ratings and ad revenues. So when you follow the arc of these guys careers (Limbaugh, Hannity Malkin, Coulter et al. [and if someone wants to name their correspondents on the other side so be it) you see the decibel level and wackiness level increase by what it feeds on. People get sated so in order to keep it up – they get a little more crazy.

And they are also terrific at using opposition (look at how I’m driving those libs crazy) to solidify their base.
But if you don’t respond – it sitss there and people take it as gospel. Its amazing that people mistake opinion for fact and then make gospel out of it.

So the natrual tendency is to match it for intensity and virulence. It can be satisfying that’s for sure – and I’ve done that on boards from time to time. Now in our little corner of the universe in a small circle (relatively of people who comment here or there) its kind of immaterial.

But out there in the general conversation – I’m not sure its healthy.

Again though – I don’t know how one needs to frame a response to this stuff.

  160. Indeed says:

His birther screed was posted approvingly at Free Republic.

Pretty much all you need to know.

  161. Duros62 says:

But if you don’t respond – it sitss there and people take it as gospel. Its amazing that people mistake opinion for fact and then make gospel out of it.

That’s what bugs me the most about ALL the cable news networks. They have 24 hours to fill, so they just grab whoever they can to yak for 10 minutes to an hour and none of it has to be true, and viewers will just swallow it. And that goes from Fox to CNN to MSNBC. I have no more faith in Chris Matthews than I do Steve Douchy.

But we need to start somewhere.

  162. lonya says:

Not for nothing but Chris Matthews irks the hell out of me. Meaningless compound run-on sentences that go on for ever and contain multiple sub-question that he never lets the interviewee respond to.

Worse than that: he plays demagogue gotcha with easy marks while he smirks in satisfication but is a pussy when he’s up against bigger marks he likes – like Pat Buchanan. He bullies the people he can and just busters on aimlessly with the bigger fish.

  163. Dennis says:

James Von Brunn is a right wing terrorist.

“Dennis” is a deceitful and malignant right wing extremist who is trying to change the subject.– News Reference

“News Reference”, your posts here are little more than your mental diarrhea. I can assure you, I am about as extremist as the elderly lady who checks your books out at the local public library. Your views are far more extreme than mine.

Your problem, your frustrations and the reason for your having to post and repost essentially the same recyled pablum, is that you can never make an argument that isn’t completely coated with your extreme bias and political opportunism, and you’re not crafty enough, reasonable enough, nor intelligent enough to make it appear otherwise. Your hatred for the opposition consumes you.

You’re hardly a reference for any real news, but just another bigoted, intolerant, hypocritical liberal blog commenter looking for an outlet for his frustrations. And like so very many other people just like you, winning the election did almost nothing to change that.

  164. Amused Observer says:

    LOL,

“You’re hardly a reference for any real news, but just another bigoted, intolerant, hypocritical liberal blog commenter looking for an outlet for his frustrations. And like so very many other people just like you, winning the election did almost nothing to change that.”

That is the most even tempered yet devestating analysis ever posted in OllieLand.

  165. To repeat my question, “Amused Observer”, what will we as Americans do if right wing terrorists continue to act violently?

How will we stop this right wing aggression?

What do you propose we do about it? Be specific.

And again, do you feel that your violent, eliminationist approach to problem solving is part of what is encouraging domestic right wing terrorism?

    If not, why not?

You’ve explicitly explained your racist hierarchy of races and loudly hinted at final solutions to some problems.

Don’t you think that right wing racist eliminationist rhetoric like yours deliberately encourages terrorists like James Von Brunn, Jim Adkisson, Richard Poplawski, and Scott Roeder?

  166. Amused Observer says:

    LOL Newsie,
You already owe me an answer that you wan’t come across with, because you can’t, would be my guess.

Answer up, I’ve several weeks on you in the waiting game.

Many folks probably don’t care much for me here in OllieLand but nobody pays any attention to your disconnected dribble. You are obviously hoping for traffic to your pathetic blogsite. You’re a leftist, most folks here are leftist and even they don’t have much use for you. Face it you’re never going to make it into the bigs.

Now how about manning up and answering the question?

  167. Dennis says:

Not to correct you, AO, likely someone far snarkier than me surely would if I didn’t, but I think you meant that News Reference writes ‘disconnected drivel’.

His disconnected dribble is the yellow liquid that appears below his computer desk on the floor of his basement when he first finds out about a lone wacko extremist committing a murder that he can then go to work on conjuring up baseless connections to his hated ‘right-wingers’.

  168. As I’ve said before, I’m a independent with a conservative streak.

I find terrorism abhorrent and see violent rhetoric as it’s root, whether it’s jihadist rhetoric or fatwas or even just Republican Sarah Palin using a paint roller to paint a bullseye on the opposition with her malignant “terrorist” comments.

To me, right wing terrorists include people who blow up abortion clinics, assassinate Doctors, as well as use themselves as human bombs.

Your comments in other threads, “Amused Observer”, seem about as oblique as calls to “cut down the tall trees”.

You’ve explicitly said that you see war as a first solution.

I see war as a last resort.

If you want an answer, ‘man up’, as you say, and answer my questions.

I understand that your loyalty to a foreign nation means that you want an answer to their nation’s problems with right wing terrorists.

I’m asking you to show a little loyalty to our nation and address the problems we have with right wing terrorists.

  169. Duros62 says:

but is a pussy when he’s up against bigger marks he likes – like Pat Buchanan.

Exactly. I wanna bust Pat Buchannan in the mouth much of the time.

  170. Amused Observer says:

    Oh Newsie,
You were so close, so close to actually answering the question.
But somehow courage failed you and the question goes unanswered.
I’m still waiting and have been for several weeks. The ball is in your court.

  171. Right wing eliminationist “Amused Observer’s” efforts are entirely meant to change the subject away from how the right wing’s extremism has degenerated into right wing terrorism in America.

Instead of addressing right wing terrorism in America, the right winger now wants to deflect the issue to right wing terrorism overseas.

It’s a way of deflecting responsibility for the terrorism done by his right wing ideological allies.

If right winger “Amused Observer” had any integrity (or a shred of patriotism) he would directly address the pattern of right wing terrorism instead of trying to protect those terrorists by changing the subject.

  172. Amused Observer says:

    News,
No Dude you just don’t get it. Most of what you write looks like it comes off a template.

RIGHT WINGER “insert name” bla bla bla
bla bla bla EVIL RACIST “insert name” bla bla bla
bla bla bla “insert adjective” RIGHT WINGER “insert name”
    etc. etc. etc.

You used to have a 3 part signature regarding Israel. Weeks ago I asked you a reasonable question, What should Israel do, if after complying with your 3 part policy, she is still subject to islamic aggression?

You repeatedly ignored the question, always moving the goal posts, changing the subject etc. Never answering the question.

“Right wing eliminationist “Amused Observer’s” efforts are entirely meant to change the subject away from how the right wing’s extremism has degenerated into right wing terrorism in America.”

Apologizing for the thread hijack, let me be perfectly clear my purpose here now is not related to the subject of right wing terrorism. I have already addressed that topic above. My purpose here is to call bullshit on you for never answering the question. This is just the thread I found you in.

Your obvious trolling for bloghits and templated responses are barely worth responding to under the best of circumstances. Your refusal to ever put an idea out there or defend your ideas makes you one of the most trivial posters here.

So until you come across with the goods, specifically answering the question, I can’t hear you.

  173. Right wing stalker troll “Amused Observer” is fine with right wing terrorism in America.

Instead of addressing existing right wing terrorism in America, the right winger has repeatedly tried to change the subject by repeatedly demanding a future hypothetical act of aggression in a foreign nation be addressed.
