And if you’re feeling really brave (yeah, I know, dream on), care to give your thoughts on why within hours of Dr. Tiller’s murder by a “right wing Christianist”, Obama’s AG issued a statement condemning the murder and offering US Marshals Service protection to abortion practitioners, however, 2 days after the murder of Pvt. Long by a Muslim American the same AG issued a statement which didn’t even mention the murder but… offered to protect American Muslims. Really. No kidding. Protect them from whom? Like LaShawn Barber notes, “who’s been intimidating people at the voting booth lately — the KKK or the Black Panthers?”.

As someone else pointed out Burn, none of the O’Reilley, Limbaugh, Beck, cadre have actually said anything like “You should go kill Jews, Blacks, Gays, Abortion Doctors, or Liberals.” If you want to argue that they’re creating an enviroment where actually committing such acts would be okay, fine, make that arguement. But when you have folks on the other side of the spectrum saying things to dehumanize or degrade Soldiers, then don’t be surprised when similar charges that they’re fosting an enviroment where violence against this particular class is okay are made.
No they don’t, and yet they’re able to force a military facility to lock its doors and protect their equipment from vandalization. They’re also able to get the city to issue official condemnations of the military’s actions and attempt to bar the military from conducting their lawful mission. They’re even able to be such a threat to safety that the local police need to be called out to protect people from Code Pink’s actions. And they did all that without a syndicated talk show.
If the topic is Israel I’d bet that a lot of Neo-Nazi talking points on that subject resemble those ones from all those Leftist Jewish Anti-Israel people.

Honestly, I wasn’t really trying very hard to make any sort of factual statement about radical black churches and the gun-control laws in the areas they’re located. I was just trying to make a toss-off comment about how, just because radical black anti-semitism hasn’t resulted in front-page grabbing killing sprees doesn’t make it right. Burn is basically condoning anti-semitism in the black community since it doesn’t result in things like the Holocaust museum shooting.
Originally I was going to write something about how anti-semitism at radical black churches didn’t cause people to shoot at Jews because felons aren’t allowed to have weapons. But then I remembered where I’m writing, and that propogating ugly, hateful sterotypes is wrong.

Beats me Duro (and I’m saying that non-sarcastically). On the one hand, I always have a strong inclination to ignore the nuttiness on the theory that the thing these guys hate more than anything else is indifference. On the other hand, if you don’t hold people to account there’s no way in the world any of these nattering nabobs is going to enter into sufficient self-reflection to tone it down because its the bombast that’s driving their ratings and ad revenues. So when you follow the arc of these guys careers (Limbaugh, Hannity Malkin, Coulter et al. [and if someone wants to name their correspondents on the other side so be it) you see the decibel level and wackiness level increase by what it feeds on. People get sated so in order to keep it up – they get a little more crazy.
And they are also terrific at using opposition (look at how I’m driving those libs crazy) to solidify their base.
But if you don’t respond – it sitss there and people take it as gospel. Its amazing that people mistake opinion for fact and then make gospel out of it.
