That’s Rush Limbaugh’s new phrase for what he used to call the “drive by media”. Look for his right-wing lemmings to start repeating it, like they do every other phrase from the party boss.
How *DARE* Rush create a talking-point phrase to be repeated ad naseum! Who does he think he is? He should use phrases the rest of the country uses like:
“save or create jobs”
“shovel ready”
“culture of corruption”
“Sotomayor’s uniquely American story”
Pot, kettle, yadda yadda
“Bigot-A person who wins an argument with a liberal”
The man is a media genius.
How *DARE* Rush create amisleading, dishonest, or totally phony talking-point phrase to be repeated ad naseum!
You’re welcome!
Oliver,
You’ve got trolls in your comments section. Probably ought to flush the toilet before a whole swarm gathers.
Rush may be a media genius, but he’s still an asshole.
That’s too bad, I actually liked the phrase “drive by media.” I think it’s pretty accurate, actually.
GLV, “drive by” was appropriate because of the MSM’s habit of flinging every type of crap against the wall against Republicans. If it stuck, it stuck. If it didn’t, there was another crapball a’comin.
But the MSM got out of that business on January 20th. Now, their hard-hitting reporters are digging deep, investigating what sort of dog the President will adopt, where Obama & Joe will order their next burger, when he’ll take the Mrs. on another charming jaunt to Broadway, who he’s picking in the NCAAs, and trying to uncover just how generally all-around awesome he is.
Speaking Truth to Power? Questioning Authority? Holding Politicians Accountable? That is *SO* 2007…
because of the MSM’s habit of flinging every type of crap against the wall against Republicans. I
Oh, man, you don’t have any idea how funny that is.
Could we have some examples please of that “every type of crap” to which you refer? Because I really seem to have missed all this hard nosed in-depth investigation of the Bush administration all those years.

Where you been for the last 8 years, Farris? You didn’t read any stories at all about Bush’s dog Barney? You never saw any coverage about Mr. Bush clearning brush down at the “ranch” in Crawford? Nothing about t-ball games on the White House lawn?
The vacuousness of the press corps didn’t suddenly materialize on January 20. I can’t speak with the same certainty about your awareness of it.
Oliver – you should think about changing the title of your very ironic post.
You right-wing lemming, you.
Speaking Truth to Power? Questioning Authority?
I must have missed the part where the New York Times asked President Bush if he was a socialist.
“Speaking Truth to Power? Questioning Authority? Holding Politicians Accountable? That is *SO* 2007…”
Well, I guess I should view it as a good sign that you can admit that the press was only hard on Republicans for a short time period in 2007- I mean you know after being Bush’s lapdogs for nearly his entire first term and much of his second.
Once again, this just proves that the slobbering wingnuts do anything their daddy figures tells them to. Rush says something, they idiot minions agree and out they go, heads filled with talking points to repeat until vomiting is induced.
The dittoheads are just as dumb and gullible as Oprah’s audience.
Farris, I think the term accurately describes news media in general, not just with regard to political coverage.
I am curious, though. Does Mr. Limbaugh have a rationalization for his new phrase or does he just like the sound of it?
SaveFarris: because of the MSM’s habit of flinging every type of crap against the wall against Republicans.
Rheinhard: Could we have some examples please of that “every type of crap” to which you refer?
Sure. Just look at all the crap they threw about birth certificates, middle names, cleavage, Wright, Ayers, ACORN, etc.
Oh, wait.
“State Controlled Media” is Rupert “Charles Manson” Murdoch’s fascist FOX network. FOX has always been an extension of the Republican Party, FOX is literally run by a Republican media operative, Roger Ailes.
During Republican Bush’s regime, FOX was literally an extension of the Republican controlled government, the very definition of “State Controlled Media”.
“Just look at all the crap they threw about birth certificates, middle names, cleavage, Wright, Ayers, ACORN, etc.”
LOL, you are confusing the blogosphere with the MSM. They gave him a golden pass on all of that.
LOL, you are confusing the blogosphere with the MSM. They gave him a golden pass on all of that.
This from someone who presumably considered Sarah Palin a competent politician, and thinks that the gentle media treatment SHE got was still too harsh.
I’d be delighted if the MSM decided to pass over bogus nonsense.
But the MSM has it’s strings pulled by the right wing. I heard way too much from the ‘Main Stream Media’ “about birth certificates, middle names, cleavage, Wright, Ayers, ACORN, etc.”
But just to cover some facts:
The ‘birth certificate’ thing was only relevant to foreign born Republican John McCain (he was born in the foreign nation of Panama).
The middle name a child is given isn’t the responsibility or fault of the child, that was such a bogus lunatic fringe attack it’s amazing that the entire Republican Party didn’t get outed by the “MSM” as a bunch of taunting four year olds.
“Cleavage”? OK, maybe that at least brought the Republican’s maturity level up to the age of nine year olds.
Wright’s rants were funny and didn’t offend me but while I could see how they would offend a white person raised without any context of American history, they were still irrelevant.
On the other hand, the same people that were complaining about Reverend Wright didn’t have any problem with Republican Sarah Palin’s WITCHCRAFT CHASING PREACHER???
Republicans that are still persecuting witches don’t have much room to throw stones about anything in my book.
Ayers? How about Republicans supporting terrorist bombers for the last 30 years?
ACORN? ACORN was funded by Republican President Bush. ACORN is what you get when you outsource government programs.
You say ACORN, I say Halliburton, KBR and Blackwater.
Give “Amused ‘Swiftboat Liar’ Observer” a few minutes and he’ll come back with some more fictions to add to his resumé.
Rush Limbaugh is a racist asshole.
I’ve made the analogy between Rush and Stalin before, but it’s getting to be more accurate every day. Towards the end of his life, Stalin was mentally unstable and wetting himself a lot due to years of alcohol (i.e., drug) abuse. His advisers and henchmen knew they had to get rid of him, but they were individually afraid to do or say anything. The party was falling apart around them, and guys like Beria (kind of like Gingrich, or maybe Steele) wanted to stay in power, but they didn’t want to risk looking like the guy who pulled the trigger and got rid of the dead weight that was destroying them.
Eventually Stalin had a seizure and died in his sleep, but there are rumors that Beria poisoned him.
Anyways, have fun with your dying party Republicans. Every day Rush remains your leader is a great day for Democrats and America as a whole.
Yes Repack,
I think Sarah Palin was the best of the group running. Her instincts and attitude would have been a welcome contrast. I wish my vote for her had been for president rather than VP.
She would certainly been a better person for the country than our current leader.
“save or create jobs”
“shovel ready”
“culture of corruption”
“Sotomayor’s uniquely American story”
Never heard of any of those except the 3rd. To be fair, I’ve barely heard “drive-by media”.
She would certainly been a better person for the country than our current leader.
How would she have had time to lead? She would be busy reading every newspaper.
Yeah, cheering for the one of the major downfalls of McCain’s campaign really speaks volumes about you. Keep it up.
GLV, “drive by” was appropriate because of the MSM’s habit of flinging every type of crap against the wall against Republicans. If it stuck, it stuck. If it didn’t, there was another crapball a’comin.
Yeah, because they tried SO HARD to discredit Bush after 9/11 and during the run-up to the Iraq War.
Farris, stop blaming the media for your own ideology’s failures. You’re only embarassing yourself.
[Palin] would certainly been a better person for the country than our current leader.
It is hard to fathom the stupidity that statement represents. It’s like the speed of light. Just as nothing can go faster than light, nothing could be more stupid than what you wrote. You have hit the natural limit.
She would certainly been a better person for the country than our current leader.
In what respect, AO?
