Bed-Wetting Time Again

('DiggThis’)

As Taylor points out, Obama’s visit to the middle east will be party time for the right-wingers who pee-pee the bed at the thought of anybody who isn’t a right-wing “Christian” male.

    OMG.

The incessant bed-wetting over Bill O’Reilly and Fox News here for the last four days, surely you say that in jest.

  2. The difference is a) I’m not a party official or elected official, b) we’re not bedwetting over O’Reilly just pointing out his immorality and c) not afraid of talking to the rest of the world like mature adults.

  3. joaquin says:

Let’s hope Obama doesn’t go over there and continues his groveling/apologizing. We’ll see.

  4. Parthenon says:

Joaquin, can we stop pretending you aren’t going to wet the bed no matter what he says?

  5. White Whale says:

    Joaquin,
Are you now stooping so low to get your talking points from Steve Doocy?

  6. Burn says:

Oh noez! Obama said a word in Arabic! The horror. What on earth is the leader of the free world doing speaking another language, the same language as spoken in the country he visits?
This just totally proves he is a secret Muslim traitor terrorist! I knew it, but the liberal media who never investigated his birth certificate is helping him once again!!!
Help me Glen Beck, help me Lou Dobbs, help me Michael Savage!

  7. So far Disney/ABC’s Jake Tapper and the NYTimes Jeff Zeleny are in a competition to see who can get the bigger DRUDGE headline.

Disney’s Tapper is recycling Obama’s history as a repackaged attack on “Obama’s Muslim Roots”.

Tapper has always been good at find the most sensationalistic angle for his weakest stories, so nothing new there. Literally, nothing new, Tapper regurgitates the attack points for the right wing to get excited about without adding a single new fact.

The NYTimes Jeff Zeleny crops a quote and adds a sensationalistic headline to throw the right wing some more red meat.

Oliver links to Taylor Marsh, who does an excellent job debunking the absurdity of Zeleny’s cropped quote. Greg Sargent and Steve Benen both do their usual good jobs addressing the issue as well.

As I said elsewhere, Jeff Zeleny of the NYtimes should start working at TMZ. Ethically challenged journalism is something he is clearly comfortable with.

Here’s a hint on how to learn which “journalists” will be pushing a right wing slanted story next week: Watch Republican insurance saleswomen Gwen Ifill’s show Washington Week on PBS, write down the names of the other “journalists” on her panel, and wait. They almost always push right wing narratives.

When Jeff Zeleny started showing up on shill Ifill’s show, I immediately started discounting anything with his byline.

  8. Amused Observer says:

Well so fsr he doesn’t seem to be pushing the theme that he’s a long time member of a racist christian church but he has said that the USA is one of the larger muslim populated countries in the world. Funny in light of his tough response to Korea’s missle launches of last week he notes that Iran has a perfectly legitimate right to pursue nukes, but just for electricity.

  9. Burn says:

Oh, Amused, here’s a hint, the election is OVER, get it?

Your side lost. Hannity spent several hours each week trying to make it seem like Obama was some secret black panther, America hater hanging out with Rev Wright..and it didn’t work.

So I have to ask, why do you still bring it up? Does it not register in that brain of yours that this particular smear, in spite of being total bullshit, didn’t wash with the voters?

Out of 20 years of sermons, let’s pretend an average of 45 minutes a sermon, equals 2340 minutes a year. Times 20 is 46800.

46800 minutes of sermon time, and yet you can find less than one minute of ‘angry black man’ sound bites. That’s weak sauce, dude. Very weak.

Don’t you numbnuts think of this stuff before spouting off in public like some deranged drunk on the street corner who serenades parking meters?

See, this is why the GOP is in the shitter permanently. They act like 12 year olds, and wonder why they get killed at the ballot.

  10. Amused Observer says:

Burn I merely contrast his “I’m damn near a muslim myself with a muslim education living in one of the larger muslim countries in the world” with his pre election christianity even if it was with an unabashed whack job like Wright.
But the greater thrust of my post you seem to ignore.

  11. Repack Rider says:

Funny in light of his tough response to Korea’s missle launches of last week he notes that Iran has a perfectly legitimate right to pursue nukes, but just for electricity.

Yeah. Why do Iranians think they deserve electricity? Don’t they know that the North Koreans want to build a bomb?

    /snark

  12. Repack Rider says:

Well so fsr he doesn’t seem to be pushing the theme that he’s a long time member of a racist christian church

    Perhaps it slipped his mind.

  13. Quaker in a Basement says:

the greater thrust of my post

I’ve read it three times and all I get is, “Obammy!! Yah! Yah!!”

  14. Amused Observer says:

    Repack,
Am I to assume you buy into the Iranian claim to only want nukes for electricity?

  15. Repack Rider says:

Am I to assume you buy into the Iranian claim to only want nukes for electricity?

Am I to assume you buy into the Israeli claim to only want nukes for electricity?

I think that we have very little to say about what takes place within the borders of other, sovereign nations who do not accept our money, and since we can’t invade all of them, diplomacy is vital. We already invaded a non-nuclear, pushover nation and it has destroyed our military for a generation to come.

So what would YOU do, invade Iran, a country far tougher than Iraq? With whose army? I’ve already served, so I’m off the hook. Do you need directions to the recruiting station, or is military service an abstraction to you, something that happens far away and to other people?

Talk is cheap when your butt doesn’t have to cash the check.

  16. rat_bastard says:

Personally I hope he puts on the traditional outfit just to make neo con heads explode.

  17. Jaim says:

Adults are back in charge of our national foreign policy. America will be safer and more respected in the coming years after the disaster that was Cheney/Bush.

Bed-wetters like Republicans have no place running the government.

  18. Amused Observer says:

    Repack,

I know you wish you could live in a place where the outside world had no impact on you but you don’t. I see from your post that a nuked up mid east doesn’t trouble you enough to contemplate doing something about it. If left to Obama, Iran will get the bomb. The trouble didn’t start with him but he will allow it, not just allow it but facilitate it if his current remarks are to be believed.

From there it will spread. Sooner or later we’ll taste radiation here. Our people will die in far greater numbers than from any action we take to stop it.

But your post reveals much about your mindset. You either believe Iran or you don’t care. I suspect you just don’t care.
Unless I am greatly mistaken You were drafted, against your will and you seem to think that gives you and you alone a moral right to an opinion about national defense or foreign policy. Everyone else is a “chickenhawk” to you. If you don’t enlist it is illegitimate to have an opinion on the military. Maybe it’s time to let go of your anger about LBJ.

  19. Zython says:

From there it will spread. Sooner or later we’ll taste radiation here. Our people will die in far greater numbers than from any action we take to stop it.

You all have been saying that about the Middle East for almost 8 years now.

Well, this certainly puts mind mind at ease. After all, you’ve been wrong about everything for that length of time, what are the odds you’re right about this?

  20. Repack Rider says:

Maybe it’s time to let go of your anger about LBJ.

When you see history repeat itself, how can you not care, since the same damage is being inflicted now as then? PTSD vets whose lives are now ruined, got a thought for them?

See, I FEEL for those troops, and for you they’re people you don’t know, suffering from shit you don’t care about. How much do you have to hate these troops to be so indifferent to ruining their lives for a lie?

You either believe Iran or you don’t care. I suspect you just don’t care.

You say we should DO SOMETHING about this shit, well why don’t you tell me what exactly you want to do, nuke a sovereign nation, or did you have some kind of Mission Impossible stunt in mind? Who makes the sacrifice and who take the blame? What’s the fucking PLAN?

Great to have grand strategies. The devil is in the details. Why don’t you explain the mission to me, the entry and the fucking EXIT strategy?

  21. Amused Observer says:

    Repack,
One of those troops is my boy.

In this post you seem to indicate an awareness that the Iranian policy isn’t really just about electricity but that you are unwilling to pay the price to do anything about it.

You are not worried about this country being nuked by a rogue islamic bomb. Fair enough, but I think it’s quite possible.

  22. Right wing “Amused ‘Swiftboat Liar’ Observer”: “If left to Obama, Iran will get the bomb.”

North Korea went nuclear under Republican Bush’s failed leadership.

Republican Bush made an enemies list, goaded North Korea and goaded Iran. Republican Bush’s policies were petulant and childish.

Because of Republican’s failed leadership, Iran is a greater threat to US than it ever needed to be. But Republican failures were what created Islamic Iran in the first place.

Republican President Eisenhower was the idiot who started the problems in Iran when he chose to destabilize Iran’s democratically elected government and replace it with a Dictator so that the British could steal Iranian oil.

After decades under Republican Eisenhower’s Dictator, the Iranian people revolted and became the Theocracy it is today.

    ————-

“Amused” you sound like a paranoid Dick Cheney Republican.

What do you attribute your cowardice from?

Do you live in a constant state of fear or is it just an act and you are using fear for political purposes?

You do know what we call people who use fear for political purposes don’t you?

And if one of those troops is truly your boy aren’t you livid that Republicans lowered the standards for the treatment of prisoners so that if your boy ever gets captured he can be held forever and tortured by Republican’s “standards”?

Or is your boy a seat warmer who won’t ever see combat? Not that that’s not respectable, but it would explain your indifference to troops that would see the brunt of your insane warmongering.

  23. Amused Observer says:

    News,
Sadly one of the Americans who lives in safety behind the shield of my boy’s service is you.

  24. Zython says:

Fair enough, but I think it’s quite possible.

Which is why it’s not going to happen.

Sadly one of the Americans who lives in safety behind the shield of my boy’s service is you.

What? You want a medal? Mooching off the glory and success of your offspring (assuming they exist), that’s GOOD parenting.

  25. Amused Observer says:

    Zython,
That is truly beyond the pale. Your comments would inspire violence if made in person. Your willingness to tear this country down and sacrifice liberty and freedom to create some vast welfare state where people don’t have responsibility because it’s the governments job is so very sad, ignorant, and naive.

  26. Amused Observer says:

    Zython,

Your willingness to tear this country down and sacrifice liberty and freedom to create some vast welfare state where people don’t have responsibility because it’s the governments job is so very sad, ignorant, and naive.

  27. “Amused ‘Swiftboat Liar’ Observer” “Sadly one of the Americans who lives in safety behind the shield of my boy’s service is you.”

Sadly, American troops lives have been systematically endangered by Republican military policies backed by right wing fanatics like yourself.

4,307 Americans were killed because Republican Bush lied US into the Iraq War.

Even while starting the unnecessary war, Republicans demanded a tax cut so that American troops didn’t have adequate body armor or MRAPs or even appropriately funded medical centers.

You are a disgrace to your son, “Amused Observer”.

  28. Right winger “Amused ‘Swiftboat Liar’ Observer”: “Your comments would inspire violence if made in person.”

Everything inspires violence in you “Amused”.

    You’ve repeatedly advocated for violence.

To you, everything has a violent solution, you’ve even hinted at final solutions.

Right winger “Amused ‘Swiftboat Liar’ Observer”, “Your willingness to tear this country down and sacrifice liberty and freedom” to create a fantasy libertarian utopia is sad, ignorant, and naive.

But your betrayal of your son is especially despicable.

  29. Amused Observer says:

    News,
You’re very much like a deranged homeless person, deinstitutionalized without adequate treatment babbling to yourself and the invisable demons that inhabit your life. I can get angry with Zython’s remarks because I judge him to be sane and relatively balanced. You, not so much.

  30. Zython’s remarks are great, aren’t they, “Amused”.

And, “Amused”, it’s great that you are working on your violent outbursts.

    Baby steps, baby steps.

Anger control issues like yours aren’t usually overcome in a single instant.

  31. Frank DiSalle says:

“News Reference” and Zython: I think there has been enough said about Amused Observer’s parenting, and his son.

While the two of you excel at making irrelevant, groundless, and nasty ad hominem attacks, let’s not completely burst the restraints of civility and good taste.

You have become entirely too personal, and you both should cease and desist.

While apologies from each of you would be in order, those I would expect only from people with adult sensibilities.

  32. So right winger “Frank ‘Taliban’ DiSalle”, who has argued on behalf of terrorists and rapists, decides he’s the arbiter of civility.

Frankly, “Frank”, if you had read my comments you would have recognized that I have more concern about right winger “Amused Observer’s” son than he has.

Reckless militarism like “Amused’s” pointlessly endangers American troops as well as American civilians.

And it’s contemptible that right wing chickenhawk warmongers like “Amused” would argue in different threads against government run health care and against higher taxes even while he advocates his reckless militarism around the world.

It costs money, tax dollars, to pay for a war and make sure troops are properly equipped.

It costs money, tax dollars, to make sure troops have proper body armor, MRAPs, medical centers, and appropriate medical treatment for things like PTSD.

Right winger “Amused’s” solutions to everything is militarism but he doesn’t want to pay for it nor does he want to properly fund our American troops.

Instead, right wingers want a tax cut during this time of multiple wars.

    Contemptible and shameful.

And that such a cowardly right wing chickenhawk thug like “Amused” would hide behind his son is beyond disgusting after the right wing spent years attacking Gold Star mother Cindy Sheehan.

The left are trying to keep American troops out of stupid wars.

    Let me repeat:

Right wingers like “Amused” see violent solutions everywhere they look and recklessly endanger American troops by starting pointless wars and then those same right wingers demand tax cuts which means they are turning their backs on the troops needs.

“Amused’s” betrayal of our country is bad enough, but his betrayal of his son is beyond the pale.

  33. Frank DiSalle says:

as I said , Apologies are for grown-ups…

  34. Zython says:

Your comments would inspire violence if made in person.

Calling yourself violent isn’t something you should be proud of.

Your willingness to tear this country down and sacrifice liberty and freedom to create some vast welfare state where people don’t have responsibility because it’s the governments job is so very sad, ignorant, and naive.

All because I called you a bad father?

While apologies from each of you would be in order, those I would expect only from people with adult sensibilities.

Fair enough. I’m sorry you were so easy to make fun of.

  35. Frank DiSalle says:

Zython, call me when you have gone through puberty.

  36. Zython says:

Hey, I’m not the one that’s too petty to accept a simple apology.

  37. Frank DiSalle says:

You mean I am not simple enough to accept a petty apology …

  38. Right winger “Frank DiSalle”:

“as I said , Apologies are for grown-ups…”

Which is why the Republicans will never apologize for lying US into the Iraq War.
