Funniest Quote Of The Year (So Far)

From a writer at Patterico

Glenn Reynolds, the Instapundit, never struck me as an Obama fan but he’s always given Obama a fair shake.

Bwahahahahaha! Reynolds has pushed pretty much every smear vs. Obama save for the Secret Muslim one. But let’s keep playing pretend.

And the post from Reynolds once again posts this graph the Heritage Foundation made up (Heritage is all about making up graphs nowadays, I guess since the White House is likely to only answer phone calls from people like CAP). The conservative blogs keep posting this graph as if the simple act of posting it will do… something.

The Patterico posts concludes “I think a lot of Americans are getting frustrated with Barack Obama.” Well… no. But keep talking in code* to each other and nod approvingly when you’ve made a “point”, its best for the rest of us when you all maintain the illusion of relevancy among yourselves.

(* For me its sadly an occupational hazard that makes me mostly fluent in wingnut. For instance when one of them screeches “ACORN! Barney Frank!” and then nods knowingly, I am one of the few Americans who recognizes that as a serious conservative argument. I feel like those Navajo code talkers in WWII, but instead of serving the country I interpret the ravings of the mad.)

Glenn Reynolds is the most partisan blogger of note.

He rarely admits he’s a republican but nearly always bashes democrats.

I’m amazed he’s been able to keep his day job, but I guess he’s somewhere in Tennessee and probably tenured.

As someone who enjoys Rand, he should renounce tenure and go out and earn a real living in the marketplace. But I figure he’s unlikely to do that, as it would take fortitude.

Let fortitude take you as you impel martial urges to take your readers, Glenn! Quit your job and Go Galt, as your wife apparently wants others to consider!

Instead, he’ll melt into tenure but still thrill at other people becoming Galtian.

    Others, Go Galt!

  2. Jay Tea says:

I catch your drift about “talking in code,” Oliver. I get the same feeling when leftist partisan hacks proclaim who is the leader of the Republican party.

    J.

A tea party pimp is giving Obama a “fair shake”

  4. william says:

The evil debt chart…Obama is really running budget surpluses as far as the eye can see. Is that right?

  5. johnnymags says:

    Bitter blogger is still bitter.

Yes, that was great when we used our Jedi mind tricks to get Steele to genuflect to Limbaugh.

  7. Quaker in a Basement says:

I thought it was called genuflecting only when the other person is facing you.

  8. Matthew Hooper says:

Please, please, please do not post comments like this… I so do not want to try and visualize Mr. Steele’s physical positioning when he kneels in obeisance to Rush Limbaugh. Brrr.

  10. Pete says:

I asked for a cite regarding Obama’s “hateful rhetoric toward women” on littlemissattila.com (where Reynolds got his initial story).

Well not so much ‘ask’ as ‘make a snarky comment suggesting she couldn’t back it up’.

Anyway, she came back with “Lipstick on a pig” and Obama flipping Hillary the bird. Seriously.

  11. Jay Tea says:

Pete, how about the dismissive “honey” to the Detroit reporter?

    J.

  12. SpiderJ says:

“Honey” is “hateful rhetoric towards women”?

Barack Obama is married to an outspoken Amazon, was raised by a single mother, and is the father of two daughters. At what point do you look at that history and say, “oh, yeah, total misogynist”?

  13. PD100 says:

Yes, Jay, The President should have called the reporter a “major league asshole” and maybe throw in joke about missing WMDs.

  14. Sean D. Martin says:

    Actually, it was “Sweetie”.

And at least he did follow up by admitting the error and apologizing for it.

  15. Duros62 says:

I get the same feeling when leftist partisan hacks proclaim who is the leader of the Republican party.

Psst. Jay. It’s Rush. Don’t tell anyone.

I asked for a cite regarding Obama’s “hateful rhetoric toward women” on littlemissattila.com (where Reynolds got his initial story).

Isn’t that our very own Amused Observer?

  16. Jay says:

Really? Which ‘smears’ would those be exactly?

  17. Dave in SoCal says:

And the post from Reynolds once again posts this graph the Heritage Foundation made up (Heritage is all about making up graphs nowadays, I guess since the White House is likely to only answer phone calls from people like CAP).

By “made up” you obviously mean “that which I do not like or agree with because it does not cast the first black Messiah President in a glowing light or advance his glorious cause”.

To back up your “made up” claim I’m sure you can provide a link to someone who has actually run the numbers provided by the CBO and White House (like Heritage did) and can demonstrate that the Heritage chart is wrong or bogus. Can’t you? Otherwise, you are simply full of shit.

Oh, and that Instapundit link you point to, where CNN asks Obama about the “$1.7 trillion debt, a national deficit of $11 trillion”? Obama’s response is that we’re out of money because of “our failure to make some good decisions on health care over the last several decades”. WTF??? Pay no attention to all the trillions in new spending unleashed by Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress, we’re broke because we never adopted national health care. Just how stupid and gullible does he think the average American is?

  18. Dave in SoCal says:

Just how stupid and gullible does he think the average American is?

Never mind. I forgot that 52% of the population voted for him in the first place. My question is answered.

  19. SpiderJ says:

You forgot the answer to your own rhetorical question? That takes talent, Dave.

  20. Bruce Henry says:

I thought little miss attila was the unlamented “jmccann”, not AO.

Surely they’re not one and the same?

  21. “Dave in SoCal” either can’t do math or only does “Republican Math” where the error falls in his favor. To refresh his memory:

Republican President Reagan more than DOUBLED the US debt.

Between Republican President Reagan and Bush 1 they more than QUADRUPLED the US debt.

Republican President Bush 2 more than DOUBLED the US debt when everything he charged to America’s credit card is added up.

Republican President Bush also funneled trillions of tax payer dollars out the back door of the Fed to his bankster buddies, and funneled multi-billions to both his war profiteering buddies and his no bid contract cronies.

AND ALL THREE OF THOSE REPUBLICANS ALSO INCREASED THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT.

“Dave in SoCal”, assuming you actually believe the falsehoods you push and aren’t just a right wing Con, please read the “Two Santa Clause Theory” of “Republican “Economics”".

The Republican Party and it’s right wing ideology is a fraud.
