Donna Reed’s Letters

Nice story in the NY Times about letters she kept from G.I.’s in WWII. As a lifelong fan of It’s A Wonderful Life, the girl next door appeal of Ms. Reed is quite clear.

That was a great article. I only know her through “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “The Donna Reed Show,” which I grew up on. I always thought that she was one of the two most beautiful actresses in American film history (the other being Olivia de Havilland).

This is proof that she both beautiful and thoughtful, a caring person. What greater epitaph…?
