The Joker ALWAYS Escapes From Arkham Asylum

That’s why we can’t house terrorists in U.S. prisons. These and other similarly irrational ideas brought to you by the Republican party and wimpy ass bedwetting Democrats.

Every detainee suddenly became Michael Scofield from Prison Break
Someone needs to prove to me beyond doubt that these detainees are in fact “the worst of the worst” and not just a bunch of Afghani shepherds who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Well then let’s not house terrorists in FICTIONAL ASYLUMS.
What disgusts me is how many politicians, most critically – spineless Dems like Reid and co, totally bought into the whole debate as if it were really about prisons and security. It was a sucker pitch and they went for it hook line and sinker (sorry about the mixed metaphor).
This isn’t about security, this is about Habeous Corpus and the fact that once brought here those that have been detained will likely have a right to trial and a right to see evidence against them. The accusations of terrorisim (some of which are likely to be true) will have to be put to the test. The brilliance of the right was to ignore that. It is complex issue and one filled with nuanced interpretations of the law etc. It isn’t one susceptible of playing out in 10-second sound bites and idiotic commercials. So they focus on the threat of these three-eyed Muslim monsters breaking out of maximum security prisons and/or recruiting a new terrorist cell. Its bogus. Last I checked Charlie Manson is still in jail, the DC sniper is still in jail, Massoui [sic] is still in jail and they haven’t run any super secret activities from their cells.
As to being released and let loose in America – well, if they are tried and convicted to a specific term, sasy ten years, once released they’ll be deported.
Its all nonsense but the spineless Dems and the media just let themselves be played for fools. And the shame continues because Reid and Co. have no balls at all.
Shame on them.
I guess Gotham City is the HQ of the Reality-Based Community, then?
Honest to God, Oliver, when the comic book universe becomes the basis for your political arguments, it’s time to seriously consider moving up to mucking out the stalls at Pimlico as a career choice.

And someone needs to prove to me that Team Cheney either knows the difference or, if so, cares about the difference.
Monsters.

Jeezus you are stupid.
Open Hearts. Open Minds. Fair-Minded Words. Surely we can discuss this without reducing those with differing views to caricature.
All right SF, here’s your chance. Why don’t you let us know why American prisons should not be housing the prisoners currently at Guantanamo. Also, why the government should be asked to prove them guilty of something.
Is savefarris stuck on stupid or something?
Surely we can discuss this without reducing those with differing views to caricature.
Then stop being a cartoon.
Nope. Just some advice I heard once that were lauded on this very site as being consequential. I was hoping that people here would actually take heed.
SaveFarris, your concern is noted. Now stop making stupid arguments and we’ll take you seriously. If there’s one word I would have to describe republicans’ reaction to the plans to close Guantanamo, it would be disappointment. I’m disappointed to see you all behaving in such a deranged, cartoon-like manner. Maybe when you all grow up and learn to make adult arguments, I’ll learn to take you all seriously. But for now, it seems that the right-wing side of the equation here is full of children who haven’t come into political maturity yet.
Surely we can discuss this without reducing those with differing views to caricature.
The problem is, I’m not caricaturing anything. The view of the right and the Democratic lemmings going along with them is exactly as stated. They really are pushing these detainees as if they are supervillians who break out of jail on a whim.
I can’t write parody about conservatives anymore because whatever I would write is regularly superseded by reality.
concern troll is concerned.

As Lily Tomlin has observed, “I try to be cynical, but it’s so hard to keep up.”

As much as I want to embrace that sentiment, I don’t want to hear that coming from you.
I bet political blogs inside the comic book universes are even MORE fun.
“If you don’t support President Luthor’s rendition policy, you are objectively pro murderous, insane clown.”

Oh that sounds like a fun idea…

Again, those words lose all meaning when they come from you.
