Once again, evidence that the RNC is living way too far in the past. The Daisy ad? Anybody old enough to remember that ad is in a nursing home. Nobody under 60 gets it at all. Same thing for calling Obama “socialist”. Hey pals at the RNC, there’s a whole generation that was born after the Cold War and are old enough to vote now. The Soviet Union is now Russia, and the only reason China is still Communist is because that’s the only thing the rulers can think of on how to rule a vast sprawly country.

Michael Steele is in charge of the RNC. The RNC releases an ad, which is designed to get people talking. OW talks about it.

And you conclude OW has an obsession?

It’s not like OW is talking about Steele’s choice of tie. He’s talking about what Michael Steele is doing in his official capacity as the head of the RNC.

“No one pulls the lever based on who the RNC or DNC chair is. Most people don’t even know who they are.”

You are half right here. Most people don’t know who the head of the RNC or the DNC are. However, they are very important in getting party members elected. That’s their job.

We are not saying, ‘Because Michael Steele is the head of the RNC, people will not vote for the GOP.’

We are saying, ‘Because of the mistake Michael Steele has made as the head of the RNC, it will be more difficult for GOP members to successfully run campaigns in 2010.’

I wrote about Ken Mehlman and Ed Gillespie as well, though I must concede that those guys weren’t the kind of major league idiot Steele is.

While those two were on TV, they didn’t garner as much attention as Steele has. Jeebus!! Though to be fair to Steele, Boss Limbaugh wasn’t the head of the Republican Party yet.

The reasons I love Michael Steele are multifold.

1. I find black Republicans and the way the party props them up to be hilarious.

2. I find Michael Steele to be a joke. A joke when he was Lt. Gov. of Maryland, a joke when he ran for the Senate here and a megajoke as the head of the RNC.

3. Political bloggers often write about the heads of parties. Just pick a random conservative blog and look in their archives for what they wrote about Howard Dean. I wrote about Ken Mehlman and Ed Gillespie as well, though I must concede that those guys weren’t the kind of major league idiot Steele is.
