I am loving the artwork. No offense to CGI, especially great flicks like Wall-E. Toy Story 1+2 and A Bug’s Life… but there’s just something about well done animated art from a pencil.

    no argument from the Anime fan here….CGI can be cool, but I still liked ‘Atlantis’ (say what you will of the sometimes-lame story), ‘Tarzan’, etc. from the ’90s Disney.

    Oliver, I’ll also recommend anything from Hayao Miyazaki…if you haven’t already seen his work (unlikely, but I dunno). Personlly, I loved ‘Porco Rosso’ best, but then, I’ve loved flight since I was a little kid. I think you’d also enjoy ‘Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind’, and hope you’d also grab the manga (Viz handled the American release, I think), as that covers about 4x more story.

    I think we can reach across the aisle on this one – this looks sweet…

    I’m hoping that, in addition to many other charms, this movie turns out to be a big, sloppy, wet kiss to New Orleans, a city that could use a reminder of what it ought to be.
